It's a great design translated into live action especially when big studios like Sony can't get the character to look great in a film like amazing Spider-Man 2
Damn, this is probably the retrospective of a retrospect.. This absolutely makes me feel so privileged to live in this era and made me look back at how much luxurious my life is!
Wow. This was completely unexpected and it was super enjoyable to watch. Honestly I wouldn't mind seeing more videos like this one, checking out some old Atari and GBA games. A lot of people never heard of them and it would probably be tons of fun to see them and the story behind them. Once again an amazing video!
@@alwaysnerdyretros I think I remember asking you a similar question of if you had any plans to make smaller videos in between the larger ones. Games like this and other 8bit, 16 bit and Arcade games would be fun to hear about. There's a really weird Sega Spiderman Beat em up in the arcades... It's definitely odd.
"Spider-man Spider-man takes a dump in a coffee can" Sorry I can't see this game without thinking of AVGN. Great video once again Nerdy. I always enjoy your retrospective videos you're one of my favourite channels. I love hearing about the bts of the games and also hearing quotes from the developers that you include in your videos.
Man I miss Kyle Justin. Those old episodes were awesome. Too bad James was an awful friend, f**ked him over and now Kyle (and Bootsy) have both ghosted James and refuse to talk to him. Remember to treat your friends right.
I love your videos! You're the reason I spent my first paycheck on a Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 and yesterday I just finished superior mode! Thanks for deep diving into superhero videogames you've introduced me to one of my favorite games.
This was very well done and still quite in depth for being a shorter game. I'd say you're doing fine so far with short form videos. I will go positively feral when you release the Spider-Man 2000 retrospective. It was my main childhood game and actually my biggest inspiration to eventually pursue voice acting.
what a throwback! omg i can just imagine being frustrated with the web being cut. lmaooo also tobey falling... omg pls.. i remember talking about that part in the movie with you 🤣🤣🤣
It’s a pretty tough game! I don’t think I made it past level 3 honestly. Was this your favorite game back in the day or were there other ones you enjoyed more?
It's based on a Stephen King book and it's the only movie he ever directed. And by his own admission he was completely coked up at the time. It's a dumb action movie but it has it's charm. Also notable it had Yeardley Smith (AKA voice of Lisa Simpson).
I can imagine that this era of gaming, while simple, must've been fun for some kids. I know if I grew up with a game like this my brain would fill in the gaps on all the action, and in those terms, this is quite interesting for what it is.
Did you get burned out doing Arkham Knight’s part 2? Bro I can’t even imagine how much there is to dive into. This is a as a nice change up to the retrospective series
I’m thinking of this as more of a bonus episode while Part 2 is being edited. It’s definitely still coming out there’s just a lot more that goes into it. Im glad you like this though! If everything works out, I’d like to release smaller videos like this in between the larger ones to fill the long gaps
Yeah, but stolen from my brother and me! All from a video game contest, which I entered! And it was an idea given to me, from my older brother! But I drew out the concept, turn it into the contest...and then , they stole it!
I always enjoy your video essays on a lot of my favorite games, especially the marvel games as a comics fan that grew up playing some of the older ones from the 90s, and seeing the old ads of the other games before the movies were a thing. Can’t wait to see what games you’ll be covering next! Also, I need a. Idea essay about the activision ps1 Spider-Man 1 and 2 games, and the marvel vs capcom series (x-men children of the atom, street fighter vs X-men, marvel superheroes, marvel superheroes vs street fighter, marvel vs capcom 1 and 2). *note: man, I’m super excited for the ps1 Spider-Man video essay. It still plays really well as a game and is a good summary of that era of marvel and the marvel universe of that time.
Marvel is still one of the best franchises of all time and its great to see Marvel and Spider Man get into games back in 1982. If it wasn't for this game, the game side of both Marvel and Spider Man wouldn't exist and we wouldn't get Insomniac's Spider Man.
2 things 1. Anyone else find it ironic that a studio named “PARKER Brothers” the very first Marvel/Spider-Man game? 2. I love that Goblin jumps off the build acting like he gives zero f***🤣
This was a fun video. Depending on how long it takes to make, I wouldn't mind you posting one of these smaller ones between larger videos (or maybe 2 between videos if possible). They don't need to go into depth and it's a chance to just play simple games and have fun doing it. Specifically some of the GBA Spider-Man games or details on mobile ports could be fun. Spider-Man 3 for GBA comes to mind with how that game handles the movie's story. Alternatively for games with less content overall or repetitive levels like Marvel Superhero Squad (like let's say Justice League Task Force) These shorter videos are a fun break between larger projects and could potentially help you take a break between long videos
That’s pretty much what I’m thinking too and you summed it up nicely. I’ll keep experimenting with them and as long as they aren’t slowing down the bigger videos too much, I think it could be fun to throw these in between them
Oh I love that game!!! Easily my favorite marvel game right now. I’m not sure whether I’ll do a video on it yet. I should probably let it age more for a retrospective
@@alwaysnerdyretros yup! More people means more content and maybe characters, I also hope they adapt more comic book stories with this type of game style.
@@alwaysnerdyretros I can't wait for part 2 of the Batman Arkham knight retrospective. I just recently beat all the Arkham games and am going through the DLC of knight. The detail you go into is impressive
Do a review of Hellboy science of evil because during the game awards they announced a new Hellboy game called Hellboy web of wyrd I'm a big fan of the original Hellboy movies
I wouldn't mind seeing you do reviews on smaller/older games especially platform games like the original super mario game, any of the old sonic games, and Batman: The video game.
Those would be fun! I might try another smaller game in the future to test things out. Unfortunately, my smaller videos seem to get significantly less views, which makes it harder to prioritize them. But I’d like to try again at some point. Like you suggested, Batman could be a fun one!
@@alwaysnerdyretros if it wasn't for that video game I wouldn't become the huge Marvel Maniac that I am today and the huge comic book nerd so I give that video game 100% props into getting me into the Marvel Universe as a kid.
Disappointed. I wanted a 16 hour breakdown of this game. Jokes aside this was a fun little video. Probably was nice for you to not have to make another 2 hour video lol
This game idea was stolen from my brother and me! I entered this concept into a video game idea contest at a School called New North, located in Springfield Mass, now called Gerena...sad truth, I didn't win the contest. But it was my brother's idea, I drew it out, and entered it! Yet, some lady gets the credit!
@@alwaysnerdyretrosI don't care what this lady says! And I repeat, this game was (stolen) from my older brother (because he told me the idea) and it was myself, who entered a video game contest, yet you seem to think I'm the one lying! Why? They took advantage of kids, but I'm an adult now, and I have no reason to lie about this games origin, although it's nothing compared to today's games and I get that, but that doesn't change the fact it was stolen from my brother and myself!
