Marvel's Spider-Man 2 - Top 10 Things I Wish I knew Earlier (Marvel's Spider-Man 2 Tips & Tricks) 

This is the first Spider-Man game where I played the side quests consitently with the main quest. Rarely did they feel combersome, and some of those side missions were just heart wrenching. Finished the game at 95% and ironed out the last Mysteriums and Spider-Bots after beating the final boss.

My two tips: 1.If you played the previous game(s), turn off web assist immediately 2. Don't waste Hero tokens on certain costumes. Save the hero tokens for gadgets and suit tech. You can get the costumes later.

I really like how you get so many levels, but you never feel overpowered. Most of the time they just buff your already strong abilities, but they still take some skill to use. Getting stronger requires tokens which are unlocked slowly throughout the game

Graphically this game looks amazing. It amazes me how well they have implemented ray traced reflections in this game. There is no other game on PS5 that does ray tracing this well. It is not only ray tracing that looks great in this game though. I truly prefer the color palette and also the trees have more realistic shadows and ambient occlusion. Great stuff! Can't wait to play it in few hours when download finishes.

this may be a silly tip but I found out a bit late that you can stop your web wings by holding down on the left stick and tapping (not holding) Circle. knowing that helped me control my gliding so much.

3:49 So...about this point here, in the difficulty settings, you can adjust specific enemy qualities such as health, damage awareness etc.

The shared skill tree has a OP ability for Peter. It works on miles, but Symbiote Peter benefits a lot. Ultimate Assist. Increases Symbiote Surge/Mega Venom Blast meter gains. When you have all Surge skills maxed out, this just makes a thing where, you use surge, fight a little, then use it again. Busted.

i ended up doing like 2 side missions and the entire story and it made the game significantly more difficult than how it probably would of been if I leved up. Not a bad thing, I actually liked the challenge.

This is my favorite game of all time. I cant believe how good this game is. It makes me feel the way i did when i first playing spiderman on ps2

What I wish we got was a feature in the original Maguire spider man 2 game is a menace system. Kinda like the honor/fame system from the red dead redemption games. Basically if u ignore a crime or leave it midway then u will lose hero points and gain menace points. And the menace and hero thing will have different interactions to the people in NYC. If ur menace meter is up then people will hate you and JJJ will talk more nonsense

Just got off work. Finna play control and mk1 for the next 8hours before i call off for tmr and lose my mind in new york😂😂‼️

Do the photos and Sandman crystals first. You earn tons of tokens, parts and get a nice starting pool of XP. Use wind tunnels and launch off catapult roofs or from the tops of very tall buildings then glide to unfog the map the fastest uncovering side content. Certain collectibles like tech chests & spider droids are easier to spot at night. Priotize Focus for suit tech upgrades and get three focus bars unlocked as soon as you can. Save focus to heal ahead of finishers.

One thing though: As someone who lived in Brooklyn for many years, I have to point out that we're crossing the East River in game, not the Hudson. The Hudson is on the west side of Manhattan and would take us to New Jersey, but I guess the devs are saving the Hoboken and Jersey City content for Spiderman-3, lol.

Set 50% slow down to left thumbpad, select Miles' Spider-Verse suit with the cape and reduced framerate, do the Mysterio level set on top the clock, and get ready for an amazing visual spectacle!

I've been going all side mission and other activities over the story, and i feel really OP, and im on spectacular difficulty.

One thing you failed to mention that I wish someone had pointed out. If you try to steer right after starting a glide, it becomes a glide-powered dive. This actually kept me from using glide for half the game. I couldn't glide. I was used to gliding in the Arkham games, and that stupid useless dive led me to believe that glide just didn't work for me. Steering at all (using the left joystick) too soon after hitting triangle initiated an instant dive to the ground. I didn't figure out that I needed to settle into glide mode before steering until that damn flying spider bot in Hell's Kitchen forced me to. And it takes too long to open up fast travel, so that's a real shame. By game plus I knew better, and didn't miss fast travel one bit. Not only did no provide a solution, but no one else seemed to even notice. I had to figure it out on my own. I searched the web many times looking for an answer. I blame everyone in the world for not mentioning this. Thanks, guys, for leaving me in the lurch. Seriously, though. The one thing I really feel would have improved my experience, and it was nowhere to be found. Wtf? I hate to say it, because Peter's the real deal and I love him, but I disagree about character switching. It's not like Gotham Knights, where switching is important to leveling gear properly. Here there's no advantage to it, and at some point it becomes very clear that Miles is the more powerful Spidey. So whenever I happen to think of it, that's who I go as. His wide area attack is just too awesome, and Peter's seems to work on a plane, and is more limited in scope. The web blossom from game 1 was superior. Without that, he is second best. So long as you upgrade like you're playing as both (because you will be, like it or not), then be who you prefer. After all, it matters not who you are. You can play as Peter and still upgrade Miles. And while their attacks are different, they aren't so different as to say that getting used to playing as one won't teach you how to play as the other. Am I just antisocial, that the other guy bothers me most of the times he swoops in to help? Because as far as I'm concerned, it just keeps me from obtaining optional objectives. How am I supposed to get four guys with one gadget if the fight's over suddenly?

Biggest tip that I've learned with Spider-Man games any time. Something like a sidequest unlocked. Just do all of them before you go to the next part of the story.

Am I the only one that feels like they have low damage output? It feels like it takes forever to beat just one enemy and you’re constantly having to dodge which makes it harder to defeat enemies

My problem is that I don’t parry enough, I swear I barely build any focus, I’m 8 hours in too every battle is such a close encounter.

A couple of hours in playing on spectacular, the main combat loop hasn't changed. I( don't use Spiderman's robo-arms because I don't like them, and they don't feel Canon) The best way to not get killed is to keep the bad guys in the air and to stay in the air yourself. Lots of abilities that help with that, upgrade shared skill tree is a must because That's where you get the main bulk things to do in combat to extend combos and to keep yourself alive. Upgrade Webshooters, Focus, and then the power of your attacks webbing up enemies is awesome and allows for easy take downs. Miles' (And Spider-man's, I think like I said I don't the robot arm abilities) recover slowly early game so it's worth bumping up those when you have the free points, the use of abilities and gadgets let you crowd control better, almost all of Miles' abilities hit more than one person so use them frequently. If you webstrike press circle to slide under and then upper cut, it's quick and deals with almost all enemy types in this game.

Oh, and one more thing. You got it wrong about the air tricks recharging focus. That was how it worked in the first game iirc. In this one, surprisingly, Aerial Escapades only recharges spider jump and spider dash. So it's pretty much useless when preparing for fights. They took whatever that was called in the first game and effectively neutered it. I love this game. It's seems even better to me than the first one, in fact. But Aerial Escapades being all about traversal, while it makes sense, was a pretty bad call.

Ugh... Didn't know the catapult skill can be used anywhere. I was using the vertical jump. Was always finding hard to get height webslinging when you start from the street level.

The mechanics of water - Air reminds me of Just cause

Can't really make expenditure/resources mistakes with this game. It ain't no Mihoyo fare... Separately, finding it kinda super easy on Spectacular difficulty 4 hours in... Yanking enemies up/kick-launching, hitting them, wrecking ball kick, more aerials, slam back down to earth. Much easier than Ultimate difficulty Spider-Man 2018!

Thank you for the great tips, these are really useful for someone who's very first open world game is Spiderman 2. If you're someone who has played at least 1 other open world game in your life, then you'll just waste 11:37 minutes of your time.

Honestly WHY in videos like this sidequests are "things I wish I knew" Unless you are a content creator, there is zero reason to rush the main story Personally, I never cared that much for the traversal skills, I only did them when I did the rest I honestly wanted to always play as Miles because before the black suit Peter felt so weak

Imo this game was way too short... I beat the main mission in the first day... any game that can be main mission complete within 15 hrs is a fail in my book. Great game...great content.. and yet you drop the ball on longevity.

Bro can some one tell me why my settings won’t stay correct? I left the game turned it back on and I had horrible default settings. same for when I die or mess up on a part. It’s annoying and I keep having to change my settings back on

Did everything at first trying to get the Raimi suit. I didn't get to use it much since I got it just before the symbiote. I got sad. Luckily when NG+ comes I'll be using that most of the time.
