What to expect for MvC Origins. A video showcasing the easier infinites of Marvel Super Heroes. There are other infinites, but these can be done in a real match. xbl: wolverine masta psn: wolverine-master
Whoa whoa, WHOA! You're telling me, for the low, low price of jumping with Wolverine, then hitting medium punch, medium kick, heavy punch heavy kick; I can pwn my friends? That's incredible! But wait, there's more?! As the Hulk I can just Crouching Heavy Punch into a light anti air gamma charge?!?! Can this deal get any sweeter?! Awesome, it's great to see some practical infinites, easy and and more challenging. Gonna go practice. Do you do combo breakdowns/tutorials and whatnot for other classic marvel games?
Everyone in this game has an infinite. However, I was aiming for practicality. Neither one of the characters (except the boss characters) that I left out has a practical infinite. I'll be covering the rest of the cast though so stay tuned.
Sick, I'll have to practice that for when the rerelease comes out, thanks man! I was familiar with the Storm inf but I just felt like I was missing the timing for when you cancel mp with down, so now since that makes sense it's back to the lab. :)
The guys on ggpo and myself are the people that's going to stand out when this gets released. Those brazilians still play this like it came out yesterday.
I only started getting into this game earlier this summer because it was put in my local arcade. Easiest combo for me to do is with Captain America. Jump towards them LowKick Double Medium Kick Crouching Heavy Kick. If they don't roll away, repeat the combo haha.
when I try to do air combo with wolvie, after "down + mk" it is thrown back away. How do you keep him close after that kick and keep going on with the combo? thanks
It's up to the player. Gems should never be banned because you don't equip them. They drop, you fight for them, and if hit with a special move, they can be taken away.
And I never said I am a fan of X-factor nor do I consider UMvC3 a deep and technical game. However, it is fun to watch and the X-Factor does bring that HYPE which makes tournaments exciting. As a Fighting Game player, I don't consider UMvC3 a serious fighting game, but as a spectator, it's very fun to watch. It's also great to see top players use a variety of characters, versus the limited competitive cast of MvC2
Thank you for being civil. I think at this point we're at an "agree to disagree" impass as we're talking about opinions on what the metagame should be, and part of that is of course personal preference. I'm actually very picky about which fighters I truly like, and it ends up being how the metagame is actually played. RU-vid comments really don't give me enough space to go into details, and would be happy to continue this conversation somewhere else if you wanted.
Yeah I learned that recently. It still does not change the fact that the Marvel game playerbase had no better choice than to embrace MvC2 as even with its balance issues, bugs & glitches it had more to offer. So there is a strong nostalgia factor.
Oh of course. Also MvC2 was also a good game. Good game can last almost indefinitely, look at counter-strike, Dota to name 2. Granted they have had long standing support but those games are pretty much as is as they can be. Not to mention their influence. No one can deny that a game like "Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe" most likely wouldn't have been thought of had Vs not had been around. And to go even deeper with the debate of the KoF influence over all the whole team based fighters.
I just got into this game, I wish there was more of a scene for it. I currently am coming from 8 year melee player. Learning this as my first 2d fighting game I actually enjoy and translates well. But i play doom and am learning Wolverine lol this is finna help a lot
I like how you tell me to drop the nostalgia, and the proceed to explain to me what it was like during the time that Marvel was in it's heyday. The problem is, I can tell you definitely weren't around in any sort of way that would comprehend the tournament scene during MVC2's life judging from by the garbage that you are spewing. Good players didn't complain, good players practiced and got better, old character that were thought to be overpowered became overshadowed.
Oh and the whole one touch kill mechanic that is prevalent in MvC3 actually comes from MvC2 and it was never meant to be a core of the game system. It was one of the main criticisms, but with time, players just decided to work with it since there is no other option and would not be for a long time. Back in those days, super long extensive one hit kill or close to it combos were not a game mechanic that was approved of.
I never said lack of choice. I said lack of character selection. The difference is you can take any top tier team in Marvel 2, and that team will have more variables, strategy, depth, etc. than teams in Marvel 3 or whatever game you want to compare it to.
First if all, all of these combos are ridiculously hard, btw except for Magneto''s and Wolverine. If you're able to do this on a steady basis, chances are you don't need them at all to rape 99% of your enemies because you're that good. MvC3 infinites are far worse because they're so easy to do. Second, you could actually escape any chain if you roll (f + PPP) as soon as your character touch the ground. So some of them are not guaranteed infinites. Not a nitpick, just 2 cents.
Completely agree with you. Over time the MvC combos system has become easier ... However, in my opinion, MSH is the best of all, as it brings together creativity, difficulty and excellent animation :)
hey, guy! i can't connect the super jump roundhouse after the super jump fierce on the spiderman combo! could anyone help me? please! thank you anyway!
slow the combo down. Connecting the Roundhouse isn't like comboing it...it's more like linking. When you press "Fierce" you should be already at the top of your jump or just about to start your descent.
+trinidadbabyboy thank you! i will try it! i have difficult kicking the enemy with super jump roundhouse on the floor! this game must be a twenty years old but love this game anyway! it's marvelous! i'm sorry! i don't speak english very well! thanks anyway!
Ok....so there's plenty of ways to determine best. If we were talking tier list, she would be low. Mid game however, psylocke has combos that lead into throws. How do you plan on teching a standing overhead (f.mk) into tick throw? Maybe you're looking at this all wrong. I was gonna go off on you, but you called Shuma-Gorath a nightmare. What did you do exactly for sega? I have to ask, because it sounds like you're trolling me. I'm here to share info, not get into online arguments.
In xmvsf and mvc2, storm has an infinite where she jumps up and ad/df with lk..hk. The reason I'm telling you this is because the timing for both her infinite and wolvie's infinite are the same. After you press mp, quickly dash (not forward, forward) then press lk. Trust me, those guys are lazy. You have all the time in the world to cancel the mp. Another method is to slide. After the dash, just slide your finger down. No need to raise your hand to press the button.
Ohh - I never played it online - only offline. That might be true. But he has hella setups for it: Standing Strong, Jab Spider-Sting, (normal jump Jab, Short, Strong, Forward) Launch, air combo into web ball, jab, short, strong, normal jump jab, short, strong, forward Launch into air combo, otg, normal jump jab, short, short, forward, etc
Question for the Wolverine Dive kick Infinite. Shouldn’t Sj.Roundhouse cause flying screen? So what exactly is allowing you to relaunch when you haven’t even done FSD yet?
trinidadbabyboy and the fact that people always ignore my questions. Asking questions is part of learning, is it not? I’ve already looked around and websites only tell me half the story. I need to know the how, when and why.
vidfreak727 this game might not be for you. But I'll answer your question. When you combo into divekick the air combo turns into a normal combo. It takes the fs properties away.
trinidadbabyboy dude, mvc2 doesn’t feel like a game for me just cuz I can’t do magneto rom combo at all, but I still play with other characters. I can do the iron man unfly combo pretty easily (and that’s because someone taught it to me). If I know the how, why and when, I’m set.
is that for ORIGINAL arcade or the crap PSone port? Ill try on the emulator, need to slow down because if it runs too much fast you can't do these movements on the retroarch.
Oh please, drop the nostalgia. The only reason MvC2 even stayed relative is due to the fact that there was no other option for like 10 years. Had Capcom retained the license, MvC2 would have been remembered as just another step forward with many problems, bugs and serious balance issues. If you were around the release time, the game got a lot of criticism, although people did like the evolving assist mechanic.
You do realize that once these infinites were uncovered, it killed any serious competitive gameplay of this game. And I used to play this game like crazy, when it actually cost money to play, and loved it. I do remember some of these infinites being techable, might have been a patch fix.
hey man been watching your videos for a while now. I run the MSH discord for fightcade and I was wondering if you can help me better understand this game. can I DM ya cause i have alot of questions.
I used to like this game, it's dead to me now. Actually, I'm also annoyed that I nearly discovered infinites for Cap and Wolverine but didn't quite get there.
Yeah MvC2 was perfect in my opinion. i can always go back and play Mvc2, children of the atom marvel super heroes. Mainly because im not a fan of the x-factor generation.
@trinidadbabyboy Yo trini thanks for making this video so we don't have to go digging to find them. This reminds me of the old times if you did a infinite on somebody in the wrong neighborhood you can get fucked up.
Isn't his 3p infinite absurdly hard, though? I know the Kaillera / GGPO crowd who map 3p to one-button dash find it easy but I've never been able to do it on stick, must just be my bad timing, is all.
If you look at it objectively, imagine the current version of MvC3 being played extensively for 5 years. I would guarantee that it would reach the same level of meta game of MvC2. However, that is very VERY unlikely to happen because a new game will be out to which the community will gravitate to.
Any chance of this same video with pip of your hands like ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-bmx_mnW9h-Q.html I just built a mame cab (forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php/topic,112805.0.html) and I'm dying to get Wolverine's infinites correct! :)
Just so you know, the main reason MvC2 even stayed so relative because Capcom did not pump out another MvC game for almost a decade. Otherwise it would have been dumped like XmenvsSF and Marvel and MvC1. MvC3 embraced a lot of the flawed mechanics that became pretty much the staple of MvC2, hence the result. Never said I respect the MvC3 mechanics in terms of competitive gameplay but it is better than having a god tier like MvC2
Good players realized that while their character selection became more and more shallow, what they had left provided the most intense combination of strategy, reflexes, and hand eye coordination to ever exist in a fighting game. If you don't understand this, you don't understand fighters, sorry.
