Marvel vs Capcom 2 All Hyper Combos Reaction 

It pained me when you said Gambit's power is to "throw cards". His power is to make any inanimate object he touches EXPLODE. He just utilizes it by throwing exploding playing cards.

Ruby Heart is just from this game. She's kind of the main character for the story. Megaman's friend is actually Roll, his sister (if robots can have sisters). Mega man is called Rockman in Japan and Protoman is called Blues. Puls his dog is called Rush, the bird is Beat. Rock, Roll, Rush, Blues, Beat, Bass, Treble ect. bit of a theme there. Better than the name they were going for Mega "Rainbow Battle Kid". Oh and if you were wondering why he is called Mega in America, apparently the localizer responsibly for that change thought people would draw the connection of "Rock" to rock cocaine. Ok random Megaman trivia over.

Ruby Heart is an original Capcom character that was created for Dark Stalkers but unfortunately, didn't make the final roster. She was repurposed for MvC2 as a "main character", but again she has not returned to any other game of her own or spin-offs. She has cameoed in Street Fighter V as a paid DLC skin and appears on a wanted poster in one of the Ultimate MvC3 stages. I'm hoping Ruby Heart returns one day because she is so cool and has so much potential! In this game, Ruby Heart ferries the cast of characters to the source of a potential calamity known as Abyss (the black orb with green glyphs that's hovering around with the monster at the end of the video.) I really wish Capcom uses her in some way not just in another fighting game, but an action game where she recruits scrapped characters.

Amingo (the cactus), Ruby Heart (the pirate), and Sonson III (the monkey) were made specifically for this game and never came back. Amingo was created for roster diversity, Ruby was a rejected Darkstalker, and Sonson III is the granddaughter of the protagonist of Capcom's second ever game.

Gambit ability is actually pretty awesome. He can overcharge anything he touches with kinetic energy to make it explode. The cards are just an aesthetic choice of his.

6:26 Dan was created as a parody character by Capcom to poke fun at their rival company SNK (King of Fighters, Samurai Shodown...), but the fans ended up liking him so much that they just kept bringing him back and he's become a favorite among the Street Fighter characters.

Marrow is from the group known as the morlocks. Basically a group of mutants forced to live underground due to their physical changes during their original mutation. Marrow unknowingly caused a massive explosion at her family’s home as her mutation activated creating pure bone structure out her former home and creating the bone protrusions out of her back. The morlocks are a neutral party in the mutant rights fight as they only really emerge once in a while. They really don’t care if either side wins, more like they want to find a treatment for their appearance as it does frighten many people.

Yes that is a baby in a robot. A genius baby in fact! 😁

Gambit has LOTS of abilities and skills, bro! Charging up Playing Cards are just his favorite signature weapon.

Really fascinating going back to this era where X-men were the main draw of marvel, Thor was nowhere near Cyclops' level of fame, Doctor Strange was considered obscure, and Iron Man was such an afterthought in other media, he was often replaced with War Machine.

There are 56 characters, but only 9 of them have original sprites. I'm not complaining, since many of the sprites aged perfectly. Although some of the animations had to be gutted to fit that many characters into the Sega Naomi hardware, which could barely take it.

18:31 yup Silver Samurai is out of X-Men, he's a Wolverine Villain and if you want to know more about him he has a Death Battle against The Shredder from TMNT and it's one of the best, and they used the model from this game for the fight

18:39 not sure if you guys watched “The Wolverine” movie when he went to Japan but the Silver Samurai was the main antagonist of the movie towards the end. I’ll say this the suit is mechanized in the movie (badass🔥) compared to the other main adaptations we got.

Fun fact: Ruby Heart(pirate lady), Amingo(cactus fella) and Sonson(little girl Sun Wukong) are from... nothing. This game is their only appearence EVER. Supposedly they're scrapped Darkstalkers characters, since that's the only capcom game they really fit into, but at the end of the day we really don't know pretty much anything about them.

Marvel Vs Capcom 2 is arguably the best fighting game ever, and even if it's not my cup of tea I have to say it damn deserves that

Gambit's mutant ability is specifically putting Kinetic Energy into objects. His preferred ammunition is cards as they're easy to throw, and one deck is over 50 rounds. So just four decks and he's got 200 shots in his pockets. If I remember, Gambit had a dark period where he did this to people...

So for the backstory of Dan, you probably remember Ryo Sakazaki and Robert Garcia from The King of Fighters series. Ryo and Robert were made by the same creators of Ryu and Ken and they left after the first street fighter, so they were practically rip offs As a response, Capcom made Dan who was a joke mix of Ryo and Robert, his looks was from robert and everything else was from Ryo’s moveset.

So Dan was meant as a joke on rival company SNK. SNK had made 2 characters that were clear ripoffs of Ryu and Ken so Capcom design a character that had the head of one and the body of the other and that was Dan. He's borderline useless in most games and kind of a joke, frankly. Jin is from the Capcom fighting game Cyberbots and Hayato is from Star Gladiator, another Capcom fighting game with some thematic ties to Star Wars Roll, is, in fact related to Megaman, she's Megaman's sister! Ruby Heart is original to this game, though rumours persist that she was meant originally to be a Darkstalkers character. Sakura gets two sets of supers because at one point she changes into "Sunburnt Sakura" which is a play on "Dark Sakura" and is like Evil Ryu but because she's not inherently mean, she just gets a slight sunburn instead of turning evil and it gives her a slightly different moveset. Also there are two versions of Wolverine in this game, Adamantium Wolverine and Bone Claws Wolverine to account for his changed move sets between games. The gray Zangeif is technically supposed to be Mecha Zangeif but it's done thruogh a pallete swap. We wouldn't get a proper Mecha Zangeif till Street Fighter 4 as an alt costume.

So many years playing this game. Capcom no longer produces them so the copies on ps2 are very expensive online. One of the best arcade/fighting games ever made imo

Here's what I like about versus fight games, you get to see, a lot of characters if you've never seen before and every so often, game developers might add abilities, that a certain character doesn't have, especially when it comes to this game. Another thing that a versus video game will do, they will just add characters, that give you a sneak peek to another game, that may or may not come out, a good example is, Ruby Heart.

What made this game stand out back in 1999 was the neon / acid jazz music that's what made the game so amazingly cool because people still playing it till this day.😎😎😎😎😎

I never even played this game back in the day, but I’ve watched enough tournaments to have Storm’s “Heya” sound burned into my head because she kept flying away and spamming that attack to gain meter.

I love that Capcom used the VAs from X-Men TAS to voice their characters for their games. True, they only did it for XM: CotA, but still.

The characters are Captain Commando, the balanced fighter with a powersuit that has a flamethrower and can emit electricity; Jennety/Mack (name depends on localization), an alien mummy who wields knives that can melt enemies into bones; Ginzu/Sho, the speedy ninja who wields a sword that can cut enemies in half; and Hoover/Baby Head, a very intelligent baby who pilots a mech, being the game's slow powerhouse

Roll is Megaman's sister. In Japan Megaman is actually Rockman, and his sister is Roll. Basically Rock and Roll. Also the name of their dog is Rush. Just wait til you watch the original Marvel vs Capcom, nothing but DANGER, SUPER COMBO FINISH. Also hard to believe that War Machine was chosen first over Iron Man, since Iron Man isn't present in the first Marvel vs Capcom game.

And yes, he is a total joke in universe, but also everyone loves him. 7:22 Fantastic Four movie is coming, so he's likely to pop up there and they are heading towards adapting Secret Wars (the 2015 one) storyline, where Doom was the main bad guy. 8:01 Bruh, wat? He's power is charging any solid enough object with kinetic energy. He's "just throwing cards" cause each deck has 52 of them and he can stick like three decks in each pocket. He once blew a guy away by spitting a bubble gum at him. 18:32 He's got beed with Wolverine (who doesn't?) and he can supercharge his sword.

Trust me when I say, you HAVE to listen to the soundtrack. That whole OST is a gem of 2000.

Gambit’s power is the ability to turn potential energy into kinetic energy. Most often he does this by releasing all the potential energy in playing cards which makes them as powerful as hand grenades. He could do this with entire planets easily if he didn’t restrict himself. Look into a character called “New Sun”. It’s a variant of gambit who never got restricted and he’s basically Dr Manhattan.

Random thought, but it would be cool if you guys reacted to a 30 minutes or an hour of saltybet. It's a never-ending livestream where you watch two AI-Controlled fighters duke it out, but you also bet fake money on predicting which fighter will win. The whole thing runs on mugen which is this highly customizable fighting game, so the amount of characters there are is endlesss In short, i think you guys would enjoy it

Dan has sadly been made the joke character of the street fighter franchise his dad was taught by Ken and Ryu's master but died before he could fully teach Dan and when he tried to learn from Gouken he was kicked out because he was deemed as not having enough discipline so he has had to improvised over the years although the fact that he can shoot a relatively weak Hadoken with one fist shows that he has real potential and in the modern SF storyline he's best friends with Blanka and also friends with Sakura and Ryu also considers him a friend and Gouken showed enough concern to make sure he wasn't possessed by the Dark Hado....... Gambit's power is he is able to store Kinetic energy into objects and than use them as explosive objects it's why he uses cards because they're cheap compact and mainly means he can carry a whole pack of bombs in his pocket his staff is made out of Adamantium so that when he uses his power on it it doesn't explode Morrigan who you thought was a stripper(lol) is considered the most powerful Darkstalker so much that her father took half her power at birth because he had a vision that if she kept it all until the time was right she'd not only destroy the Makai world but herself included (problem is when the time came her fathers nemesis Judai stole it and gave it life in the form of Lilith her "little sister") Roll(the one with megaman's robots) is megaman's little sister Spiral is from the Mojoworld a world run by Mojo who is basically every hollywood producer/director/and agent in one who created her for entertainment purposes she's a sorceress who can disguise herself as others but she used to be a stunt actress known as Ricochet Rita

Something you might be interested in are clips from the Pete Holmes show, he has a decent number of ones that make fun of the Street Fighter and (EX) X-men characters. They are all like 4 mins or less and they are kinda games adjacent, might not fit with your format but figured I'd mention them anyways

He is an alpha level mutant with the potential to be omega. he has the power to charge any object he touches by converting its potential energy into kinetic energy, turning anything he chooses into an explosive. The easiest objects to do this to are smaller ones, ones that are easy to throw at a targets, such as cards.
