I need to brush up on the woodworking skills to perform a bit of a repair - some 'cardboard wood' will be replaced with real wood shortly.

Hello :). The Victron kit has been solid, but I may save up some pennies for a larger inverter. 500VA to 1200VA would be where I'm thinking, and I can then retain the mains socket arrangements, any larger & the complexity and physical size increases too much. The Ecoflow is away for repairs, and this is our 21st century 'gas bottle' for outside cooking (on induction).

Hi Kaz and Pete, we have fridge magnets at home. Have to get rid of some now and again as we collect them everywhere we travel. Good idea in the van. Great diy mod for the solar it really is so helpful. Love the T shirt Pete thank you for sharing x Julie and Tony x

Hi Pete & Kaz, we,ve missed you. You've got Antonia asking for a fridge magnet wall like yours. I'd like to know more about the costs of the electrical system. We currently have a 100w solar panel and regular lead acid battery and its really not up to the job. I have several Raspberry Pi's so interested in your GX mod!

We've missed being here!! Fridge magnet wall is an easy project! Drop me a Slack and I can chat about the system, no problem - perhaps another YT video in more detail as well? Lithium has double the effective Ah at around half the weight (full vs half discharge). The question then becomes 'does the existing system (solar, Alternator, mains, wind turbine) charge the new battery correctly, and remember, when it comes to cabling these large Amps, there is no substitute for mm² . GX is an easy 'mod' - just load up the correct image, again, happy to discuss!

Who takes pictures these days? Was that battery on its side? Also as there is only 2 of you, could not do some more DIY and remove the drop down bed. Resulting in increasing the weight you can carry.

Some of these pics are still frames from video, home printer to the rescue! The battery is a 170Ah, designed for the space under a Ducato seat. It's also Lithium Ion, it doesn't really have an up, down or side, but it is indeed in it's default orientation. The drop-down bed has a hidden feature, our outside chairs and table fir on top of it. We are at a MGW of 3850 kg, we have a generous payload (of about 600 kg), & if it were possible, I'd consider an up plate on better suspension.

Thanks Trev & Sue!! It’s going to be nice when it’s finished. We had a dance floor worth of white plastic roof space. 420 fitted easy, we’re also on a single battery, a 170 Ah which is shaped to fit under a front seat (Ducato). It took a couple of tries to get a good idea for the sheet steel. Pete & Kaz 👍😀👍😀

Another video, another bit older ;). The steel plate is easy DIY, and we're glad to have a magnet place in the van. I normally wear that particular t-shirt at work... It's good to be back & it's good you two are here as well!
