We keep the heating on at 5 degrees otherwise the water dumps - that said, we're full timers ! A great Christmas market/fair is Stratford upon Avon (which of course has easy overnight parking). Also, look out for the light festival at Warwick castle (again, we easy overnight parking). Our favourite is Balmoral - but that we rely on a secret park up 😁😁
We’ve done the parking behind the leisure Center in Stratford, very convenient! Warwick castle maybe the one this time around. When we grow up…. More time in a van!! Pete & Kaz 👍👍😃😃
Perhaps we’ll do a market this Christmas. As long as the roads are ploughed and your rig is suitably a-tyred 😉 , the best driving assistance device is between your ears, you will be fine!!
One of the best view parkups we had in France was a hard standing that turned into a nose dive enforced parking in mud, we like the hard stuff, as it is less expensive to drive out of in the morning ;).
Good tips Pete and Kaz 😂 just laughing at Kaz saying bobs your uncle Hazel come out with the exact same thing in our video we brought one of them quest pop up tents after seeing yours
Great catch up, you have learnt so much along the way. New door cards definitely good. Alan, as you know carpenter extraordinaire ( according to him), likes the cupboards. Can't wait to see the kitchen. In the meantime have a great break in France and thanks for your help on the video. Think I know where I am going wrong so starting all over again! Bon Voyage Sha and Alan
You’ve worked so hard. Moo looks absolutely amazing. The loo light is genius. It was lovely to see you again at Hermanfest. Enjoy your new adventure and I look forward to watching it. Take care Gill
Thanks guys - it has been a hard slog at times but it’s sooooo been worth it. We’re currently at Canterbury Park and ride about to head over to Folkestone to collect the animal health certificates ready for tomorrow’s crossing 🚆. Hope you’re well.
Thanks guys - taking a bit longer than your van conversion 🤪. Have you been able to get a trip out in the motorhome yet to see how you feel about it? Xx
Thanks very much. Bit of a spur of the moment to setup that second angle, it’s a great way of getting around jarring jump cuts. Definitely a lot of progress in the van, thanks.
I'm am going through this now, bought a van mid winter, I am doing the conversation by myself on the street and some at the hardware store carpark 😂The weather is getting better and progress is quicker now. A jigsaw, a handsaw, two work horses, and a drill. It's great to see what you have achieved in similar circumstances 👍
The way the weather has turned makes me want to get the diesel heater going next, weather is a huge factor, as it gets colder, wetter and darker, a bit of a slowdown happens. Respect to you for doing it the street and the car park, we are happy to have a driveway right next to the house - we had easy access to power when it was needed. Good luck to you in your build, Pete & Kaz 🐮🐮😃😃👍👍
I know the problems your facing, my build was in the street and my workshop was the van (lots of vacuuming) 😂😂 luckily i had room to use a workmate + the bed 😁 The van is Looking very nice 👌
We’re glad we didn’t have to use the van as a workshop, that would have made it even tougher. We’ve done plenty of vacuuming- glad when the inverter became live for sure, cables from the kitchen window not ideal. Thanks, hoping we can keep up appearances with the kitchen build. 😃😃👍👍🐮🐮
Thanks very much - we are happy with Moo. The tripod is a K&F Concepts, think about 1,6 meters. The arm for the field recorder is a separate SmallRig clamp-on. I’ll DM what I remember if the details, the stuff is not new. Pete.
Van is looking good so far, with regards to getting the bits before you need or use them - it’s good to know you’ve got the bits you may need over not having the bits you do need to progress the build. You’ve obviously both got an eye for quality of fitting and building. Well done both 🙌 🙌 Andy and Kim
Thanks you two! Yes, having something early does mean you have it for sure for later (if/when you find it!) early buying avoids the inflation issue as well. We started paying £33 a sheet of 18 mm ply, it’s now £40 for the same. (Use quite a lot during the build). Keeping an eye on the end finish does add time and expense, but it gives us what we need. Pete & Kaz 😃😃🐮👍👍
I am building a van off grid…no house to dive in for power 0k I got a petrol generator, but you have to plan the best time to use it, ie charge phone etc at same time, etc…yeah totally weather dependant, and everything takes a lot longer. And no storage for a sink etc, so planning essential.😮and my friends still take the we we even though they haven’t a clue what’s involved lol…one of the hardest things is having no address to enable to buy online, unless it is very small ( Amazon Locker) or Click and Collect ( eBay, up to certain size and weight). That’s what most guys take for granted, but sourcing stuff is hard, and then none, or very limited storage to buy in advance
We put a little extra drama into this one for RU-vid. We realise that it would be a lot harder without what we have (but still wish we could afford to do it in a unit!). Wishing that delivery was possible to a What3Words location, it is taking off, but slowly- KFC does it. Definite respect to you for truly doing it the hard way!! Good luck with your build, Pete & Kaz 😃😃👍👍
Thanks very much. We are wondering how much of the white tongue & groove will still be visible once the kitchen has been fitted, there is still the bench though. This project has taken most of our free time this year, but totally worth it, Pete & Kaz 😃😃👍👍
Great idea for a colab video guys. Love it. I’ve been making what I would call erm bad videos for the last couple of years, and have now with. The aid of my new (to me ) camper, I’m actually loving travel and info videoing with a splattering of (bad) art added in. Would love to colab with you at some point 👍 Ken
I regularly watch one of the campers in your collaboration travelling to sites and you can hear all sorts of shakes and rattles going on in the background. This would drive me bonkers! Is this normal for a campervan/motorhome and is it to be expected because it’s all one big space?
Hello there. It’s normal-ish. Definitely didn’t happen with the caravan. There are mitigations such as using rubber matting in cutlery draw, pack t-towels between plates, pans, etc. Something to bear in mind is that things don’t sound the same in RU-vid as they do in real life, those microphones can really give the impression that those rattles are louder/ more prominent than in real life.
Thank you for this. I was looking at that campsite but don’t want to have to shuffle. I always liked your beach combing videos. Moo is looking good really excited to see it finished. Take care Gill
There's no obligation to shuffle, they also have an off-grid field with fantastic views (we had a caravan still). We love mudlarking, miss doing it and miss making the mudlarking videos - I have one video in edit that's also been there since caravanning days. One day...
Any video that starts "problem with" 😮 Our current van is covered in USB sockets. Sadly, none are USB 'C'. We really enjoyed Trewithett Farm. The pitch shuffle was a nightmare though.... Our top 5 campsites video nearly made the top 5 most viewed.
Hi Kaz and Pete That’s not good that the lock came out like that yeah there is only a few pitches at Trewethett Farm with good views Good to see you back x
While you have the interface panel apart you will note that there are also a couple of pins for connecting a 9v battery, fitment of which saves setting the panel every time you switch it on.
