Marx German Armored Train Panzerspahwagen 

This is a video documenting my build of a custom Marx train-based on a WWII German armored Schweder Panzerspahwagen. The O-gauge model train is built on a Marx 400 locomotive pulling plastic flat cars and caboose. The Panzerspahwagen is a Dragon 1/35 scale model. I had to cut down and resize the model to make it fit on the smaller Marx 400 locomotive. I narrowed the model 1-inch down the centerline. The tank and armored car loads are Tamiya 1/48 models including the 1/35 Tamaya German 20mm Flakvierling 38. The train pulls very nicely on a 3-rail o-gauge layout. Mixing the two scales, 1/35 the train and 1/48 for the tank loads falls short of complete scale realism, but I believe the custom train exemplifies the simple approach Marx took in making their O-gauge trains.
