Don't be gross. Arthur was never anything less than a gentleman and those young ladies were like daughters to him. Now Sadie on the other hand, that would have been fine with me.
Nah they were more like siblings I’d say. Tilly, Mary-Beth and maybe Karen Arthur looked out for and treated like siblings. Sadie was a bit more complex, felt like they could’ve been more if Arthur lived longer.
Susan Grimshaw was always yelling at Mary Beth because she was lazy (she read a lot). I think Mary Beth was trying to prove that she can work as hard as her mates, and she wanted Arthur to know that.
As someone point already, Mary saw Arthur as a father figure, and followin that topic, arthurs "good girl" is like somethin you say to your daughter while givin her headpats for doin a good job This is just too wholesome
I’m on my 5th or 6th replay at the moment. I’m doing a “fuck around and find out play through”. I’m soft with the gang, and a generally good person at all times. Until I hear one “what are you wearing” then I beat them to death, gives Arthur a anger issue vibe which is kinda cool I think. Also whenever I fatally wound people I don’t finish them, now I stand over them and watch. Which is very menacing and I don’t know if I like otnlol
Arthur straight refused to have a harem out of wholesome genuine gentlemanlyness, let's go down the list, shall we? Mary-Beth Charlotte Karen Sadie Adler Mary Linton And don't try to say "Oh he couldn't have all those girls at once" Bullllllshit, my man got a tongue with the ladies more skillful than his gunslingin and fight in, and that man has a machine gun in his Wagon in pieces, and n othin turns on a ladies in 1899 more than men with machine guns who have other ladies fawning over him, it's basic math, ofcourse cannons work better but they didn't develop enough get for ladies to love them, because as we all know "bitches love cannons" TLDR Arthur Morgan turned down being an anime harem protagonist because he's too wholesome and gentlemanly as a Gigachad running a Sigma Male Grindset and prefers platonic sibling/parent-child relationships so he doesn't break any hearts (besides the ones he blows holes through or impales)
Mary beth seemed to have more of a liking to kieran than arthur, and im pretty sure karen and sean had something going on before yknow Mans head went pop
See ya in the bath tub on Valentine… see ya tonight farewell…. DUTCH: Aurthur! We need more money Aurther” Aurther: Don’t worry doortch I got ya cover btw I’m still gonna die Doortch! Dutch: I know Aurthur… I know cause we’re characters Aurther!! Aurther: nobody plays me!! Dutch: I’m sorry Aurther but it’s true!!! Aurther: Well then…… I guess it’s best we be gettin on
The only woman in the camp that liked Arthur was Karen and that was only when she was drunk off her ass flirting with him at Jack’s returning party. Even then Arthur knew better.
To those debating the ethics here’s and analogy of why Arthur doesn’t flirt with anybody and this not flirting. Arthur is respectful, the gang are all like family to each other. Reverend, uncle, Sean, Pearson, Grimshaw, jack. They are all examples of this. Whilst there are some couples, Arthur has seen most of the women in the gang grow up over time. They really are like family to him. Sadie, may be new, but she just lost her husband and is more focused on getting justice for him and vengeance. Thus, even if he was attracted would restrain as of respect to Sadie. On top of all of this, there is one major reason why he doesn’t date. 1 gigachad, nah I’m only joking. 😅TUBERCULOSIS 💀 However, there is one person who I honestly can see Arthur getting with. That is charlotte balfour, the writer and widow in the mountains. She was lost, alone and helpless and Arthur helped her, taught her everything she knew. That act from a kind stranger than went both ways and it’s clear they have a bond. One day, when he comes back he she invites him in for dinner. Arthur sadly passed out from his illness and wakes to find her hunting before they can properly chat further, but returning as John shows she has a fond memory and never forgot what he did for her. Her guard drops, she lowers the gun and talks to John. Honestly, it’s a sweet moment in the game and feels much more than mutual respect. I often love to imagine if Micah went into town and picked up the debt instead of Arthur, causing Dutch to never loose his mind, the gang to live on happily and Arthur wandering meeting her again and him settling down with her and lives the rest of his life happily with his own family. He would grow old and look up at the stars one night as the sun rose and he passed peacefully. Many he helped would attend his funeral, including the native Americans as we can see in the game they continue to lay fresh flowers over his grave. That’s what he deserved, that’s what could have happened but sadly never did.
That and also Arthur had a family and a son whom he'd often see and help out financially but both his son and his mother were killed, so the pain of that would make him numb to any romantic gestures and not persue that sort of thing, especially after his TB diagnosis
@@howdoiputthecheeseintheove8437 that’s absolutely right! Sorry it’s just because most people now about those two. But many forget how close the gang really is.
Am I the only one who thinks Mary-Beth and Arthur are super cute together. Only throw off is the age gap ofc. It’s weird cuz I even wish that Kieran didn’t die and he and Mary-Beth lived together later on
