This right here is why Mary J. Blige is the QUEEN OF HIP-HOP/soul and the QUEEN of R&B. So much emotion and passion in her vocals. No one can't deny the connection she has with her people around the world.
@M. Bryant Mary is crowned by THE ENTERTAINMENT INDUSTRY, HER PEERS and FANS around the WORLD as "THE QUEEN OF HIP-HOP/SOUL" as well as "THE QUEEN OF R&B"...So you replying to my first comment makes no since...I want to start an debate over FACTS that have existed SINCE 1991..AND call it "corny" and etc. Those titles weren't given by me...so 🤷🏿♂️. ...DEAL. MARY'S TITLES ARE HERE TO STAY FOR THE CULTURE...take care
This was definitely one of her better live performances she looks gorgeous as always and she sounds really good here she's not screaming off-key or anything like that I really appreciate this performance
Wooo wasn’t expecting this. I don’t listen to Mary j much and this was the first time hearing her live and wow 🔥 she reminds me of the greats with how effortless the singing is. Prime Mary J was something special 🔥🔥
Wow what incredible voice we had when she drop out in the 90s it is so raw and pure with her whole spirit being in that song that's why Mary J Blige still relevant today 2020 Lord I love this performance that is the young Mary J Blige. That performance gave me chills
We the fans and me love your song Goin Down Mary J Blige your songs your voice your music from the fans from around the world and me Besitos Mary J Blige _ Goin Down (LIVE)
And MY life went on to sell damn near 5 million units I wonder why the Guy who wrote this song for rose royce didn't like Mary's version. He said her version was not As Good.
I'd imagine it was probably pretty special to him, the song he writes ends up being a huge smash, he's probably attached to the Rose Royce version. Mary J did a great version though! To be honest, she breathed new life into the song. Always loved this version myself.
Two different songs in two different eras/generations, in my opinion. Rose Royce sang the song like a victim, simply going down with no hope in sight. That's it. Whereas Mary sang it like a fighter. Mary communicated I'm goin' down, but I'm not staying down. Yes, I am from the generation of the original version. I like both versions, I prefer Mary's version over the original.
Every time someone remakes a song the old heads do not feel the new version. Think about Beyoncé version of Before I Let Go..ask ur parents what they think
