Anytime Mary J sings, you feel her vibe deep in your soul, thats why she is one of a kind! She is one of my alltime most fav singers and she has upgraded her style every year since she has been on the scene! I love her classy, down to earth, humble swag! Sistahgirl is the best! A living testimony that adversity cant hold you down! Get it girl! Fan4life!
The strength and prowess of that which is divinely female is in Mary's voice, thinly veiling pain with the maturity of a woman's heart. My face is wet with tears every time I hear her sing this...
I listen to each version leona, the original Elton john, all are beautiful but there is so much pain and reality in Mary's voice! Just makes you feel way down in your soul
She does a great job every time she sings this song. But I have to say that on this night she sang this song with such great emotion. This was truly a "moment" captured on tape.
Thank you. I never felt I did. It's really hard to describe Mary's voice. I'd love to meet her and hear her speak. The sound of a person's voice is as sensuous as a touch.
Blige is simply stunning. Her phenomenal outsinging Monica in "Misty Blue" which may be one of the best live performances I have ever seen, is only overshadowed by this...
i respect this woman shes one in a million, whenever she sings i gt goosebumps... shes gt it all looks, voice and fashion she really really does it for me aint gonna lie best woman ever..MJB U A THE BEST x
Loved this version first time i heard it.It's great when an artist puts another slant on a song for the better.Ray Charles had a great take on this song also with a duet with Elton.Great song, and Mary sings it right from the heart.Beautiful and not overplayed x
Jeeeze I'm Cryin'! :( I've learned though. Don't punish yourself for past mistakes. Elton John / Bernie Taupin are the greatest songwriters ever in my disco! Shine on people! Peace! x
oh my god if Mary didn't sing that song! I know Elton loved it she made her song for a few minutes and put tears in my eyes,I am so glad she sang one of my favorite songs, I hope she does more of this ,Elton is a wealth of musical treasure for the world to enjoy, and I hope other artist who are xapable, will check out elton,he is one of the best writers for all time and thank you again mary,it's hard to find something that can be performed so perfect because that is what it was thank you, thank you thank you and the creator in you for you have define try tapped into that place inside were jesus says out of my belly shall be rivers of living waters and that song was live and my rears came from deep down within my belly and that's to the Internet I can refer to it whenever I want !
not my most favorite version, but MJB sings with so much emotion in her voice that I can really feel her words. Love Elton and love Mary! Thanks for posting
She is the R&B queen for real. She is the only person in the world that can sport animal print, I do not like animal print and she wearing the hell out that fit. I love Mary I have every album paid for not bootleg. Love u Mary J.
So glad you put this up - it's probably my favourite live performance EVER. She just wrings ever drop of emotion out of this song. INCREDIBLE. It makes me cry every time.
I listened to Blue, Elton, Leona, and Mary J...Its the same song but sung in differnt Genres kinda...They all do a really great job. And I especially like MJB!
Mary does this differently every time - beautifully. If you listen to this and your hair doesn't stand on end, maybe you've got something missing and you just don't understand the reason for singing a song is to express its meaning, which she does perfectly. This performance showed me Mary J Blige is one of the few very best soul singers. If you don't like her maybe you need a bit more life experience before you're allowed the privilege of listening to her again.
