Mary Margaret O'Hara - When You Know Why You're Happy [Sunday Night Live - 1989] 

Mary is one of greatest singers on the planet and her lack of recorded output makes each opportunity to hear her a rare treat. I was lucky enough to catch two rare live sets years ago at Fez (?) in NYC with Rusty on guitar and some local musicians backing her. One of the best nights ever.

I watch the show religiously and usually went record shopping the next day.

Allow me to solve the lap-steel-guy mystery. He is Don Rooke, Toronto-based composer, producer, player of lap steel, dobro and weissenborn-style guitars. He is also the creative force behind The Henrys, a long-term but flexible ensemble to which Ms. O'Hara occasionally lends her considerable talents. Like Rusty, Don played on the original sessions for this unique but magnificent album.

I had a very weird dream, prompted by twice watching Black Christmas? It's Christmas time 2021 and in that Canadian gem, an actress is wearing a vintage fur trimmed green felt hat and I swear I've seen that hat on The Divine Head of The Divine, Mary Margaret O'Hara! Unfortunately for me, the dream's soundtrack didn't feature that unique, oh, the octave range! I live for MUSIC but obviously can't write and don't know how to describe her voice, it's timbre? and her vocal stylings? My only complaint and even that isn't what I mean- only one album and an occasional "pop up" on a soundtrack etc. Tonight's dream: back by popular demand, limited engagement! Get those table closest to the stage now! Mary Margaret O'Hara and Tom Waits. Yes fans of ultra weird coolsville, don't forget your "dylans" ( sunglasses) and drop in....my head IS sober dear friends but yes, drugged for severe depression. Resolved:2022. Stay off You Tube, I mean, NO COMMENTS- I couldn't find Mary Margaret etc, a true treasure trove- witness, Black Christmas- who could forget or top, Margot Kidder, the sexiest, cheeky-est? college girl and her "new exchange, Fe..." making a complete idiot out of Doug Macgrath?
