Yes.. may she rest in eternal peace.. 🙏🙏🙏 because she got little peace here.. and she was right about so much.. ☘️☘️☘️.. her words dug her grave a long time ago.. 😢😢 xx
Nobody thought her protest of Catholic Church child sex abuse was cowardice. They reacted as they were told to by authorities that is was blasphemy, because they'd rather worship some weird old Nazi man in an ornate dress than listen to the God they claim to understand. The vast majority are moral cowards when they run in packs.
I don't think the world thought it was cowardice but rather the world (not the world but the media and those reading/viewing the media at the time) just didn't know how to deal with it. I can't imagine the outcry/negativity and hatred if that SNL episode happened in the day of social media without any context. At the end of the day, her voice and music should be her legacy, not any perceived controversial actions. One of the best voices ever.
The honest, the brave, the fearless, the unapologetic, the stubborn, the broken, the wisdom, the fragile…. The one and only Sinead O Connor. RIP Sinead, may your heart be at peace now 🙏🏽 🇮🇪
Not broken Just cracked.Siinead was a strong but hurt Irish warrior Woman,Thank god he gave her the voice of an Angel aswell so she could release some of that hurt. Its amazes me that the world is only appreciating Sinead now that she's moved to paradise.God definitely took an Angel home.God bless you Sinead o Connor.
There's a huge distiction between talent and personality. Sinead O'Connor and Amy Winehouse both had bags of talent and amazing voices, but I wouldn't want to share a house with either of them!
@@JTHBS She has not lost her mind. How shallow of you to say that. She suffers from depression related to PTSD from being severely abused as a child from her mother. It has come to a head for her the past few years after decades of keeping it bottled up. She improved after you wrote this but she has slipped backwards a bit recently after a dear friend of hers passed away. She is now, finally, getting the emotional help she has so greatly needed. None of this means she has "lost her mind" as you said. It makes her human!
It turns out you were the hero and not a pariah. Thank you for your bravery, angelic voice, and defending those who suffered in silence. Rest in peace, rebel. ❤
without trying to be profound, maybe our fragility and openness and honesty is what gives us our power when we speak or sing. Sinead does that totally, wow
Condolences to her family members...She was a brave soul who made certain statements against the Roman Catholic which turned out to be true. Many preachers in the world did not have the guts to do what she did.
@@Anonymous-sf5qj wrong, she was not totally insane, and she also dealt with her own child abuse from her mother & also losing her mother when Sinead was 18. "She criticised child abuse within the Church but did not have the guts to name the homosexual fifth column within the clergy as the perps." " criticised" what did you expect her to do to stay silent about the abuse, btw it's never been just the abuse of boys, it's child sex abuse it wasn't committed only by homosexuals, girls were molested by the Clergy as well. You talk as though you think rape is sex, it's violence. She believed in religion inculcated into it by family, maybe you don't know that the 3 abrahamic religions all stem from one, it does and one who think they're better than the other two, a myth they created, she believed so she sought peace in the wrong place, religion. She had every right to renounce her religion or to become a priest if she so wanted and could.
@@Anonymous-sf5qjOk, "Anonymous". Show us YOUR guts and name the members of your, "homosexual fifth column of priests". And don't forget to put your real name to it.
When I drink a few I can't help but listen to her beautiful voice and songs... Everytime Everytime....my kids and wife think I'm bananas but the other day I walked in in my son lifting weights with don't cry for me Argentina playing and I knew that the passion for her music has been passed down to the next generation
The brilliance of making a song about England's brutal oppression of Ireland ("your rage is like a fist in my womb"), and the hope for peace and dialogue ("Oh let glorious love be done"), be in the form of a song about a man and a woman. Rest in power to a true artist, radical, and iconoclast whose voice carried the souls of her ancestors with whom she is now reunited.
No you’re not alone as I watch every video she has made today. If we could be even a little bit of an activist, humanitarian that she was it might be another world.😢
I bawled when I first saw this video, which wasn't long ago. The depth of Sinead's wisdom - singing a love song directly to an Englishman, as an Irish woman - hit a rare chord within the heart of this Indigenous woman. Sinead is truly a heroine beyond measure. May her soul rest in the good work she has accomplished.
It’s a metaphor, it’s Ireland speaking to England about all the hurt and wrongdoings of The Crown. She’s an angel and she’s now found peace. We’ve lost a REAL one for sure. Rest easy Sinead ☘️✊☘️
@@Midland_Wolf_71 I can't believe I've only just heard this now! Thanks for the background information of the song. Much appreciated 💗 - Kiwi Sinead fan x
@@haleyrichardson8818 You’re welcome Haley. Yeah, resonates far more when you know the intention of the writing… The world has lost a truly special one and in time those who wronged her will surely realise it. These souls are few and far between and we should trasure them when we recognise them. RIP Angel ☘
My family are Irish/Scottish who migrated to America. I can hear her voice in the bluegrass and celtic songs I grew up listening to. She had a voice that was pure and true. RIP Sinead.
No one has ever spoken their mind and sung from their soul like Sinead - because she couldn’t be any other way. I’m sad for her difficult journey, but thankful for all she shared.
I hope people can one day realise the IMPORTANCE of Sinead as an artist. Everyhing she sings has a level of creative genius and she is infact an artist of historical importance in Ireland 🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪 As an Irishman i must say Im very proud of her for never conforming and for always standing up to injustice.
She doesn't seem to have any idea how immense she is and how her life and work have embedded her in our long history, for the good. She doesn't get how much she is loved.
A real Irish artist, like Dolores and many more. This is so heart-wrenching, but so cleverly written about when Ireland was invaded by the British, described in a metaphor as a young couple, the Irish being a young girl who was in a relationship with a British soldier and fell pregnant with him, and he walked away and left her alone heartbroken. ( the official video depicts this, this live version just reflects her pain and heartbreak so much )
Revisiting Sinead with this powerful song. I see Sinead and Dolores O'Riordan hand in hand, running through the tall, warm grasses and flowers of summer in their native homeland Ireland, singing out to the sun.... God bless you women. Rest in Peace.
Dear Sinead, I am truly sorry to hear about the passing of your beloved son. We should never let even a mere second pass us by again without realizing what is of greatest importance to each of us. One another.
Since she passed away I've been listening to this song a lot. I think it really captures the pain and complexity of her life. I hope she's finally at peace.
Jesus, one forgets her sheer beauty as her songs are overwhelming. She was simply gorgeous. My feelings are numbed because I'm on a shedload of meds but on hearing of her death, grief hit me hard. RIP Sinead and Shane. ❤❤
This extremely talented woman's demise is something that I will never understand. We are the same age and I guess that I am poorer financially in comparison but I'm sure that I know whose life I would have preferred to have lived. Bless you Sinead.. I can feel your honesty in every word that you sing on every song that you sing. Bless you.
@goingslowlynowThe coroner ruled out both suicide and overdose. But it does seem likely that the suicide of her son will have affected her enormously, and in the end, fatally.
Your music has been a comfort during the tormenting bouts of insanity and your life was an inspiration which I always strove to imitate during my brief moments of lucidity. My heart is beyond broken! You paid your dues and the whole world owes you! The world lost its fiercest warrior today. More a man than any man, a great brother in time of need, and a mother/father of the church that was most sorely needed. Thank you for tearing down Popes that needed to be, and thank you for not bowing before any king! I love you S.O.!
I have listened to this breathtaking song many, many times. It is one of my all-time favourite Sinéad songs and I just can’t get enough of it. I will never tire of hearing her voice. I hope she has now found the peace she longed for. You were so loved, Sinéad x
How many of those who denounced her because of SNL are willing to stand tall today by what they believed in then? That will tell you how much the world has changed because of people like Sinéad. Imagine a world where these people didn't speak up! Rest in the spirit of love & in gentle peace. May your beloved son be there to greet you. 🪽🪽💔
As an Englishman who has lived in Ireland for 15 years, I realise the struggle will never truly be over until there is a United Ireland. I hope one day this may happen. I am truly sorry for what my forefathers did to your beautiful country.
It may sound so naive...as a 53 old woman l long lost my right to claim naivety, however as a human being l will never ever be able to conceptualize, justify or intellectualize the atrocities fellow human beings inflict upon each other...from slavery, the Holocaust, Colonialism...they say love conquers all, really??
As an Irishman I truly appreciate your sentiment & while we don't hold any animosity towards English ppl for the atrocities their forefathers committed, at the same time we cannot forgive British government when to this day they still fail to give access to documents in relation to the Dublin monaghan bombing & the role of their military in murder of 120 innocent Catholics in 1970's/80's & how they lied for over 50 years about the massacre of 11 Catholics at ballymurphy with only a pathetic apology by Boris a few weeks ago after an inquest directed that non of the ppl Massacres were combatants, yet British gov & military denied parents of those murdered the truth & had their names desecrated as terrorist taking their pain to the grave.
"Those in power write the history, those who suffered wrote the songs and given our history we have an awful lot of songs." Rest in eternal peace dear Sinead. رحمك الله رحمة واسعة.
I love you my hard Englishman Your rage is like a fist in my womb Can't you forgive what you think I've done And love me - I'm your woman And I desire you my hard Englishman And there is no more natural thing So why should I not get loving Don't be cold Englishman [Chorus] How come you've never said you love me In all the time you've known me How come you never say you're sorry And I do [Verse 2] Ah, please talk to me Englishman What good will shutting me out get done Meanwhile crazies are killing our sons Oh listen - Englishman I've honoured you - hard Englishman Now I am calling your heart to my own Oh let glorious love be done Be truthful - Englishman [Chorus] How come you've never said you love me In all the time you've known me How come you never say you're sorry And I do I do
I saw a wild deer this morning sinead it wasn’t scared of me I it was magical it is my friends funeral tomorrow I loved her so did poppy love you sinead 😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢❤❤❤❤❤ 2:35
Often people like Sinead are not understood the depth of her passion continually tormented her . .Sometimes your passion runs so deep you continually struggle .She probably never realized the impact she made on others .I’m sure many times she felt very alone .
Beautiful beyond words. Sinead O’Connor is just magnificent. So much respect for her. I hope Ireland holds her as a national treasure. What an essentially important artist in our history. 💜
I was listening to this on my way to work this morning thinking about how much I would like to cover it. What a strange way this day ended, forever unfortunately for this beautiful soul. RIP Sinead.
Maybe do not seek to reduce her. She is always kind. A little louder when her or her children's needs are neglected by others. Survival, protection frustration maybe , obviously understandably . Understanding, not judging. Pls try, for her, others... and yourself xx
There are a lot of Englishmen out there that love her she is a great talent and I for one hope she is healing and hope that God helps her find solace after all she has been through. Love You Sinead XXX
I'm half Irish, half Yorkshire. My father was Irish, I share his humour, passion and forgiveness. I've taken time to study irish history. The vast majority of English people know nothing of Irelands past or the way her men, women and children were treated. If they went away and educated themselves instead of relying on only what they are told. . .then they would truly understand 800 years of Irelands history. . .as i do now. I hope my children, if not me live to see Ireland united and free.
I would really like to have known you, been from your time and speaking your language so we could simply talk. Rest in peace, Sinead. You and your son.
Such a powerful pure soul. She was fearless and suffered such brutality as a child. The Catholic church has been monstrous. Mankind and its conceit and hunger for power and control in organized religions as well as governments all over. It is never ending.
@@whocares8915 well another text warrior. Who doesn't know shit from shinola. The wrong to the people of ireland is glairing in history and i would rather add my little bit towards peace
Good for you mister Jim Cambell, I do understand your point of you, but be aware that you are not responsible for your father's "duty", irish people have suffered a great deal, and it's still going on, differently, certainly, but it is still there, tensions between two communities. I , for my part, would like to see the whole of Ireland reunited, that's my wish. I've lived long enough in Northern Ireland to have known what life looks like over there, I can never forget, nor forgive the massacres perpetrated on innocent people who were just eager to simply live decently. My only hope is to see Irish people live freely, on their own land, carry on speaking irish gaelic which is originally their language and keep their own culture. Perhaps, one day battles will be over, but I have doubts...
This is exactly how I remember Sinead. In 1993 I was fortunate enough to be in her class at The Bel Canto School of Music In Dublin. Although she was a huge global artist, in there Sinead was just... Sinead. One of the most beautiful souls you could ever hope to meet on this earth.
I cry watching this. I never knew her, but i knew her. Such a blessed pure voice. I was watching tv that night when she tore that picture. I knew my entire life the evil going down. I stood by her actions. And look what has come out about the synagogue of satan? She was correct. Who is left to say sorry to?
As a boy that left his English high school in 88 to join a Merchant Ship that flew the "Red Duster"...the Irish folk i met were warm, honest folk.....i've said it once....many a time this young English Merchant PUP got carried out to a Taxi, with fair paid, back to whence i come.....God LOVE YER PADDY...Thank You All...may we see yer agin
