Mary Murphy discusses her life and career, including her appearance in "The Wild Ones" with Marlon Brando, in this rare cable TV interview with Skip E. Lowe.
What a beautiful woman! Incredible face, expressions in her eyes, a perfect iconic face of a beautiful woman. An incredible beauty, much better than when she was young.
Skip E. Lowe is without a doubt the absolute worst interviewer I have ever seen. He constantly interrupts, gets facts wrong, gets names wrong, asks a question then cuts off the answer to ask something completely different, makes inane and nonsensical remarks. If his interviews are interesting it's despite him, not because of him.
DentalTech1000 Skip E Lowe is without a doubt the best. His interviews are interesting because of the dynamic exchange between him and the interviewee.
@@ThePiratemachine What's strange is that you're both right. At times, he blocked the flow of what Mary was saying, and at other times, he pushed her to say things she might not have otherwise said.
In the Wild One as much as I love Marlon Brando and actually watched it because of him being in it. Mary Murphy is my favorite in this. Her acting skills are impeccable.
Only 34 views. Isn't it funny that as time goes by the most important and famous movies and stars are almost forgotten? Not quite but almost. It's like everything else in life, isn't it?
@@rickrick5041 I agree with what you said. I had to edit the opening because of copyright problems with the theme music. The original post had over 23,000 views, so hopefully it will climb back up again. All of the shows that have "Over the Rainbow" played are being blocked.
This interview with Mary Murphy gives us insight into one of the most peacefull, comfortable, illuminating, and inventive decades, the 1950s, that humanity has ever known which can never again be duplicated.
It's so great that Skip E conceived this idea to find out what happened to all these stars after they retired. I've always wondered and now I know thanks to Skip and all the stars he interviewed.
She was a real nice actress a real nicelovely charming pretty woman. I liked her a lot in The Wild One with Marlon Brando1953 and also in The Desperate Hours 1955wirh Humphrey Bogart.
Robert Keith played her father in The Wild One”, and they never mentioned, many years later, in the TV program “Family Affair”, Mary Murphy was in at least 2 episodes where she played the girlfriend to Uncle Bill, Robert’s son Brian Keith.
Now I see she was 69, in 2004, the last time I went to LA. and to the US. I would be glad, more than glad, to meet her. I would looking for her until having this face in front of my eyes. This is Art. As American Movie Film Historian and filmmaker like I am, I spent most of life in the wrong place and country. In Argentina nobody cares, or even know, about American Films. Nobody talks about them on Television. It is only about movie releases. That´s all. Imagine to name Mary Muprhy: ''Mary, who??'' they gonna say. I prefer not explain if I have to talk about the hundred filmmakers in the Era, who are my heroes. I´m Charlton Heston in 'The planet of the apes'.
@ dental tech/ totally agree, perfect assessment of Mr. Lowe. Yet, in spite of that truth telling, there's still something 'fascinating' about Skip, even mesmerizing.
Great opportunity to interview her. Only if that interviewer would have stfu half the time and let her speak knowing how rare it was to get her to come out and do one in the first place. It was still a treat however. 🫤👍🏽
