I couldn't believe this wasn't on youtube yet!
This is the scene where the nannies are going to be interviewed but they get blown away and Mary Poppins arrives :)

I love how Mr. Banks just casually accepts the cannon booms twice a day.

Also (I think only in the second version), they have people over when the cannon first goes off and a banker catches a vase. This means that many things could (and have ) broken before

@Lolo the Paragon Maybe the reason they didn't scream, yell, or react from getting blown away because, they changed their minds not wanting the job as a nanny at the banks house after hearing Admiral Boom firing the cannon at 0:57 where they were looking for a reason to be getting away from the Banks house and the wind changing helped them get out of there.

Typical British character. We generally tend to be stoic and reserved even if wind is blowing us into the air. For an American made film, they got the British mannerisms and character pretty accurate.

+Patrick Blake That's surprising that Jane said that because she and Michael didn't get to meet them yet not knowing if they were what they advertised for or not. @@yooneeque1 That would definitely be a little hard to know because for example, if Mary Poppins was standing in the crowd with those nannies, and if Jane and Michael looked at her it's unknown if they would think of her as the actual nanny they advertised for which she was. The nanny scene always reminds me and my girlfriend of our visit to London on a wet and very windy day. my girlfriend was struggling with her big umbrella which constantly blew inside out and pull both of us along. we both had to hold on to railings in front of a house while trying to keep hold of the umbrella which was getting blown about like crazy. we remember seeing lots of other people struggling in the wind and their umbrellas blown inside out too. This is one of the only scenes I can clearly remember seeing when I was in the back seat of my parent's car eating a hoagie sandwich wrapped in tin foil at the drive in - in 1964! I was only 4 at the time, but I remember seeing the group of nannies all cloistered together with their umbrellas popping inside out. For years I was obsessed with umbrellas...maybe because they symbolized a vehicle that could lift me up and carry me away from an unhappy place.

On looking at the queue of prospective nannies, I detect one or two are (stunt) men. I’m. Curious how many of the flying nannies were stuntmen. The sheer number of stunt flights on screen all at once is a marvel! Someone else in the comments mentioned trash or litter in the streets. Of course, ALL the nannies are either holding copies of the advertisement, and/or letters of recommendation, and/or newspapers, which, I suspect, is by design and merely for the purpose of embellishing the special effect of the strong gust of wind that blows the nannies away. First we see fallen leaves blowing through the group, then umbrellas inverting, then all manner of nannies and advertisements flying away. It’s a beautifully staged & choreographed, comically built, series of stunt flights! I cannot think of a filmed flying sequence that even comes close to the shear number of actors flying at one time - perhaps the scene in The Wizard of Oz, where the flying monkeys swoop down, pick up Dorothy and, fly away! This sequence is pretty spectacular!

Because at this time there was still a strong class separation where the upper class had maids and butlers and the lower class were service people, with no middle class. If your parents were maids and butlers you became a maid or butler as well, the jump to upper class was impossible. Nice to see two Upstairs Downstairs connections. Karen Dotrice (Jane) played housemaid Lily in Season 5. Hermoine Baddeley (Ellen) is sister to Angela Baddeley who played the cook Mrs Bridges.

I actually think that Mary Poppins is a witch. A good witch, obviously. Because she flies in the sky just like bad witches. Witches have to use something when they fly in the sky, which is of course a broom. Marry Poppins also has to use something to, her umbrella. It's not even necessary to say she has magical powers, every knows that. So I guess she's kinda like Glinda from The Wizard Of Oz
