Remember that this is facts about the REAL Mary Queen of Scots, and I have just blended in some videos from Reign.
Hope you found the facts interesting!

This made me cry so much. These women put against one another just bc of politics and religion... it's so sad and it makes me angry. Mary was not perfect but she didn't deserve what she got.

@Moon Cat it's no comparison. Yes she had a bad life, but so did mary. She became widowed at 18, her second husband was murdered(whether or not she had something to do with it) she was kidnapped by her husband, raped, and miscarried her twins conceived by a rapist while in captivity. Once. Francis was gone, she was all alone. Yes she had two other husbands, but she never loved them. Only francis.

They were close, but then Marie de Guise bribed King Henry’s informat on the status of Mary Tudor’s (the queen who was ill and needing to name her successor for the English throne.) health. King Henry was made to believe the late queen was dead when really she wasn’t. Marie de Guise only made the informant tell King Henry the false news so Marie de Guise could see Mary and Francis wed faster.

Adelaide Kane is so beautiful, but the real Mary Queen of Scots was said to have had red hair. That doesn't bother me so much. I love watching Adelaide in the role. She is a magnificent actress. The story line on "Reign" was a lot of fiction. For instance, the character of Bash never even existed. They got most of it right though. I think they captured the essence of the remarkable woman that Mary Stuart really was.

This is really really beautiful, i have rewatched this many times and it always makes me form tears in my eyes. I really wished the show Reign had more time to tell the amazing story of Mary I was so sad when I heard it got cancelled. Out of all the shows I have watched Reign is so impactful to me, I always come back to watching these amazing videos about Reign. Watching these videos and finding out more about Mary has really told me that Mary was really in some cases a very genuine, caring and powerful woman. She was someone who really did love Francis, their story is just so wonderful, I am overly obsessed with their story. But anyways thank you for making this wonderful video keep up your amazing work. Elizabeth did not show Mary Queen of Scots the kind of mercy her sister Mary Tudor showed to her. Elizabeth was also part of a pilot to overthrow her sister Mary Tudor , but Mary chose to forgive her.
@HappyStars234
@HappyStars234 7 лет назад
Mary Tudor loved her sister, but Elizabeth had never even met her cousin Mary Stuart. Though Elizabeth wrote to James asking forgivness after the execution.
@lesliea.6440
@lesliea.6440 6 лет назад
Not completely true....the evidence against Elizabeth to her sister was based on conjecture and assumptions by her advisers and the torture of Thomas Wyatt. If anyone has read their history Mary Tudor was far from forgiving. Even if she wanted Elizabeth dead she was unable to do it. Mary Stuart on the other hand, had a paper trail w/Babbington which did break English Law at the time, via espionage. Mary Stuart was a threat, but was manipulated and exaggerated by Walshingham and others. The whole family was messed up and truly tragic.
@ingriddubbel8468
@ingriddubbel8468 6 лет назад
Rabi Abdullahi Sumaila Mary Tudor's husband Phillip of Spain convinced his wife to show leniency as there was no proof Elizabeth plotted treason and that he knew his older sickly wife wasn't going to survive much longer and he wanted to get into the Princess's good graces. Mary Tudor was too obsessed with her counter-reformation to be kind or belevolant. She became embittered the minute her father started divorce proceedings.
@elijahsackville-glucksburg

When Elizabeth signed the execution of Mary, she claims that she signed it because it wa included in some pile of papers that William Cecil, Lord Burghley gave her and the moment it was signed, Lord Burghley and Walsingham ordered Mary's execution right away even when Queen Elizabeth haven't said a word or ordered it. Because of that, Elizabeth temporarily banished Lord Burghley and Walsingham from her presence and said was very furious about it. She regretted and was very remorseful of her cousin's death.

Being Irish/ Scottish and being from Cork, Ireland.... We've been brought up knowing our history of our Kings & Queens. Plus having to watch and read everything there is on our family's history, I must say you did a pretty good job at getting most things accurate... except Mary never attended her own trial, the Nobles nor John Knox would not let her attend, for that matter nor did Queen Elizabeth, she was jus just kept apprised of the goings on of day to day of the so called "trial." As far as why Mary Queen of Scots was actually put to death was because of some forged letters in a "red box" that were submitted by John Knox and shown to Queen Elizabeth. Queen Elizabeth never really wanted to hurt or kill Mary, but the death sentence was handed down by the Nobles before the Queen could do anything to stop it and if she tried, she would have been next ...
@maryxstuart
@maryxstuart 5 лет назад
The book I read said that Mary attended her trial. I guess some books say different things. As for the forged letters - there are so many different theories on that as well. I think because it's such a long time ago we will never know what really happened.

In the show, James didn’t actually betray her? Queen Mary was forced to banish him for reasons they both knew were going to get them somehow punished (James more than Mary in the situation). It was because he took the fall for Mary after Emily Knox gave James false information for revenge on Knox.

And why didn’t she go to France or Spain instead of England
@maryxstuart

She did get a trial, but everyone was against her so it was kind of pointless. And she was forced to marry Bothwell I think, but no one is really sure. When she was on her way to England to get help, she actually changed her mind and wanted to go to France and live there in exile, but the weather was so bad that she had to go to England.

Plus the fact that Mary's own son didn't even like her ,like what the fuck dude ,can't protect your mom either ? I do wish Elizabeth would've helped Mary instead of keeping her as prisoner and then beheading her. I think Elizabeth never really understood that people didn't really like he
@isobelduncan
@isobelduncan 3 года назад
There's a lot of historical context that you're not taking into account here. You can't judge something from so long ago from a modern day perspective because things didn't work the same back then. Relationships in royal families could be very tense and complicated. Take the Tudors for example. Elizabeth's mother was beheaded on false charges of treason and adultery when she was only a toddler. Her half sister imprisoned her in the Tower and almost had her executed. Elizabeth already had a shaky claim to the throne and Mary had been eying it for some time, she was well aware of this. Imprisoning Mary was a precaution as there was already a threat of Catholics conspiring against her. Elizabeth initially didn't want to kill her and went back and forth signing her death warrant only to cancel it at the last minute. But in the end the evidence against Mary was overwhelming and she had no choice.
