This was just extremely irritating. The night before Team Savage was leaving for their own rally, Jimbo and Sanjeev got pulled over no more than 5 minutes from the designated meeting place. Jimbo was driving his Mercedes S600, and Sanjeev was driving the Ferrari F12. Basically, he opened the valves for the exhaust under an underpass. Right after he went through it, a cop that supposedly was following us threw on his lights. He got behind Sanjeev and began to pull him over, Jimbo was in the clear. Foolishly, he pulled over to investigate. Things only got worse from there as registration issues were found along with problems with the temporary license plate tags. All of this (even though Randy showed up and was able to provide proof of ownership) got the car towed to impound. Almost any other day this would have been “ok.” But we were supposed to leave at 6AM. Tune in next time to see how we got it out!

When the owner shows up, that throws out that argument. Or they can look up and call what they find as the registered owner contact number to verify. But also, if there is no report on the car being stolen, cops can't assume the car is stolen. It isn't uncommon for people that borrow cars, especially show cars, to know where the paperwork is.

I can almost bet money that if they check the OD it has about 20 more miles on it than it did when it was loaded on that flatbed. Those cops grabbed it so they could joyride. Like 12 county cops where I live lost their badges after like 15 cars were impounded and the owners noticed they had tons more miles on them when they got them back. They'd impound on Friday night and then play with them all weekend.

No doubt that saved me. A good lawyer one told me, "You are a POW - name, rank, serial number - just basic information - nothing more." F-king state trooper said I said a bunch of stuff I didn't say, so my lawyer made a motion for discovery for the audio, forward and rear cameras, and the officer's body camera. All of the footage "disappeared" and without that the bullshit criminal speeding ticket was dropped. Still have my safe driver discount - ha, ha, ha!

@@poolearmor If it isnt displayed on the car, doesnt matter where the plate is or what car it belongs to. I have a bunch of old license plates decorating my shop, I collect them. Doesnt matter, they are all expired/retired plates that belonged to other vehicles. Doest matter, im not driving with them on the car, so it isnt relevant.

I literally live in the area and I always speed past the bridge and never seen a cop. They usually don't stop anyone because there is a speed trap a little further up after the next traffic light.

I know in many states ( I think for all states) the cop that is in charge of the scene must be present at the scene. If not at the scene, then everything that requires them is put on hold till they arrive, otherwise it defaults to the first officer on scene (some times it may shift to senior officer on scene).

according to maryland state law, historic tagged cars can only be driven on weekends, to and from events. also you can only get historic tags for cars OLDER than 25 years. the Ferrari is new, so legally in the state of Maryland it cannot be registered for historic tags it has to be normal tags. and that's probably why it was impounded in the end. ive had 63 points worth of tickets in MD and ive fought all of them in court. ive only ever been stuck with 2 points twice. i had 2 points, then 3 years later (which is how long it takes for the points to fall off your record) i got 2 more. the other 59 points ive fought in traffic court. my biggest ticket was over 30 points. cop wrote me up for everything you could think of, even illegal lane changes. when the cop told his side of the story i objected to every miscount and incorrect info. like illegal lane changes, i used my blinker so they weren't illegal at all. cop confirmed i used my blinker the whole time. ended up with 200 dollar fine and NO POINTS. knowing your state law is important....

They do. But because they have show cars, they sometimes have to use different plates for different events or issue as needed. They guy had the plate that he needed for the car for why it is at a different location, but needed a different plate for the show, and it was in that car to be brought to him. The plates can also be issued to different cars on an as needed basis.

@@Its_JustJosh you're too dumb for words. I got pulled over in houston doing 10 mph over the limit and the cop was a rude asshole. Said I could have killed somebody. He ended up not even giving me a ticket when he found out I had a dashcam and was a lawyer. I'm white and the cop was freaking out on me over nothing. When I got home and checked my dashcam I was actually doing 63 in a 60 zone. This dumbass cop was red in the face and losing his mind yelling at me over 3 mph. And what if I hadn't had a dashcam or known the law? Dude that cop had his hand on his gun while yelling at me. I filed a complaint and submitted the dashcam video and audio and found out that cop has over 50 excessive force complaints and has never even been suspended. And of course nothing happened with mine either. You're a complete tool if you think these losers shouldn't be taken out back and have their asses kicked and fired when they pull this shit. Wtf is wrong with you?

I can slightly understand why the cops did it, not that we have to agree with what they did. Non-owner driving the car, different plates in the trunk, paperwork for exotics all over, etc...I am not saying they were JUSTIFIED, but I understand how it LOOKED to them
