On ours we chock the wheels build pressure to 120-140 then cut the bus off, turn the bus on, watch the gauges make sure it doesn’t drop more than 2 psi in 1 minute then press and hold the brake and make sure it doesn’t drop more than 3psi in a min then pump them down between 60-65 psi the warning buzzer and light goes off continue until the brake sets between 25-40 psi remove the chocks. Then start the bus up buzzer and warning lights go off around 60-65 psi then at 85 psi we have to make sure it goes from 85psi to 100psi in 45 seconds. When the governor cuts off around 120-125psi you pump them back down to 90psi to make sure your compressor kicks back on and when it gets back to 120-125 psi you pull against the service brake then pull forward at 5 miles per hour and hit the brake make sure it isn’t pulling left to right then it’s over.

Hello….. Maryland wants you to perform the Airbrake test first before inspecting the rest of the vehicle. They pretty much want it done in the order shown on the video.

@@aaronmoore7778 ok thank you. I already have my cdl just adding the air brakes endorsement to it. Also will have to take the bus out after the test is done or is that part all I have to do?

You only have to inspect brake hose, brake line and mention that there’s no grease or oil on the brakes.

If you’re testing in Maryland you have to pre-trip the entire vehicle to get the Airbrake endorsement. That change took place in September
