The rod engages the gear on the starter with the flywheel. It may be redundant if a later solenoid engaged starter has been fitted.

The H after the model number means it has high ratio reductions to prevent gear damage when cultivating heavy ground. The gearbox casting numbers will be the same as normal models

Scythey06 next job is to swap the trumpet housings for Marshall wet braked ones!

why not just put the engine in the Marshall?

Because its going to be built up with 10/60 tinwork & Marshall trumpets on 10 speed box = 30mph
