I owe my love of St. Jean Vianney to Fr. Landry, years ago I saw his series about the saint on RU-vid and it made a great impression on me. Can someone please make a tv series with a healthy, holy father of a family?! That would be great. Thank you.
I’ve read quite a bit about the meaning of virtue from the early Church , how this was reminded to Christians in the Times St Joan lived , Virtue , ... is a manly trait, character , and this is for both men and women - , not to mention courage , zeal , chastity , .... manly is ... virtue , .. , I mediated on that a long time , it takes effort , conscious ... will , to desire it , this make a human being , to God ... the will - and asking God’s assistance constantly ... St Joan was all about that strength - not brute or carnal power , or -a masculine gender yet it’s expressed as strong - , I do think this has been repeatedly lost - it’s the first thing that confirms wether someone is under the influence of the Holy Ghost, in the state of grace ....
Anybody can be manly , it’s a spiritual power from above , this courage can take hold of children , the sick , the lonely , the mourning , the half dead , this is seen in those dying most of all , to me this is the most beautiful of God’s spiritual gifts - it’s a sign of great Joy , deliverance of the soul !
