I would give this an 8. Great proof. Sweet and spicy. But I like spicy rye. If you don't like a spicy rye then probably stick with Pikesville or old Forester. But this thing smells sweet and packs some flavor. It's syrupy too since non chill filtered

Jason, I enjoyed this Rare Breed Rye stream. I'm just getting into rye and only had Old Foresters rye and Knob Creek which i enjoyed both a lot. Looking forward trying RBR and Russell's Rye. Also so looking forward Jackie's interview. I'm a huge fan and Old Foresters is my favorite distillery over all. Awesome job! Cheers!🤙
@@yugen for whatever reason I can't never find the WT 101 Rye only the 81. I do appreciate the Pikesville recommendation and the price is the reason I haven't tried it. I will give it a shot. Cheers Dallas!🤙
That's a bummer. At my local store here in Portland they have the 1L version of the 101 Rye which is nice. I prefer the spicier ryes. A lot of people like George Dickel Rye but I find it too sweet. I love GD #12 and BIB though. The Pikesville is a very, VERY spicy rye with tons of flavor, I absolutely love it. If you see it at a bar give it a shot.
@@yugen yeah I'm not used to the spicier ryes as of yet and I don't like the ones with strong dill flavors but I will keep trying them out to keep broadening my rye experience. I heard Mitchters Rye is pretty good too. Today I was in Total Wine and again no 101 rye but I will try different liquor stores. I will definitely try the Pikesville. Cheers!
