As someone who went to Oklahoma State and watched Cox practice with the OSU Womens Basketball Team as well as play/sit for the OSU Men's basketball team. I got to know Cox around school and the guy is just a loveable all around great dude. I'm glad to see you finally get to prove to everyone that you can become something more than just a "bodybag" as a lot of people in Oklahoma and Texas alike(The University of Texas players, fans, ect always referred to him as just a bodybag in the stands of games) called you! Love you Coxy!, Glad to see a fellow Texan and OSU Alum prove everyone wrong! You're the sole reason I became a fan of AFL, and why I'm a 'Pie supporter and wear the Magpie kit back home here in Texas with your number on it! Keep on it brother! Kick ass, Take Names, and don't let anyone tell you that you can't achieve your goals!
OH YEAH YEAH I reckon he would have been more consistent this year if it weren’t for the eye injury he suffered late last year, comparing him to Dunstall is unfathomable, Cox can take a final apart but Dunstall was an overall consistent goal kicker.
Coming from a bomber supporter Mason is an absolute legend for sticking at it and showing the world anything is possible. Great bloke and great recruit hope he has a massive career
I go for richmond and think mason cox is a deadset legend. Everybody who writes him off, go play pro level at a foreign sport youve never heard of and then get back to us.
Well done Coxy you've done so well picking up our game.I'm speaking as a Carlton supporter I love watching you play hope you come back strong as ever in 2020:)
@J G Warm up the Mobile Intensive Care Ambulance just in case one of the effeminate poseurs has his ear accidentally flicked while on-field. Soccer matches have capacity crowds of two and a dog! A.F.L. has Grand Final crowds of over 100,000.
Agree. I hate Mason Cox - but only because he plays for Collingwood and not for my team. The pace of his development in the game should be an inspiration to other U.S.A. athletes willing to try out for A.F.L.,just as Dani Marshall has in playing in the A.F.L.W. for both Western Bulldogs and Essendon.
So keen to see him in the 2020 decade, once he gets his consistency under track he'll easily be one of the best of the decade. He already has the ability to single-handedly dismantle the opposition so I'm super excited to see what he can do. Port supporter here
Cox kills the prelims against Richmond ngl it was hilarious watching those Richmond players feel defeated by someone who didn’t even know what the sport was a couple years ago
I am an American who just found out about the sport three days ago. It looks pretty cool! If someone who watches the sport consistently though could actually tell me how good Mason Cox is that would be great because I don’t really have much of a sense. Is he one of the best in the league? Or is his story just notable because he only heard about the sport five years ago?
The latter. He can't mark the ball very well and his rucking ability is fairly average compared to most in the comp. If he wasn't 6 foot 11 then he would never have made it most likely. However, he has improved significantly over the years and you can really tell he has a high work ethic, so really it's commendable to get where he has gotten. But yeah in terms of how good he is honestly he's an average player who has played a few really good matches (eg. the Richmond final mentioned in the video)
Josh, Seipgam summed it up, except he meant he CAN mark(catch) the ball very well. we say he clunks it meaning he grabs it and does not juggle it. He can dominate games when his is on, his height is a big advantage with the ball in the air can be a disadvantage when the ball hits the ground; he has a lot further to bend over to pick it up. He came from nowhere to be a respectable player very quickly but now other teams are working out his strengths and working out methods to counter him. when we get back to business we shall see, cheers
He’s definitely a big improver but he has a long long way to be a top tier player. And in terms of his marking Seipgam is right, he can either be good or well below average, it seems to change week by week lol
Great guy, good player. His biggest weakness is reliability though. When he's on he's on, but when he's off he's off. Unfortunately wasn't on for the grand final.
That comment that said “he’s taken the place off some kid who’s worked his arse off”I 100% agree with surely they could’ve invested money in someone who knew what they were doing live cox but surely choosing someone who’s been playing there whole life would be a more responsible defision
Mary Greeley you have done a huuge great job for years and now i know how to break the radiation contained in hot springs from the tuggeranong pool - the action bus and lever coaches the american embassy fence and my dna. The Canberra Queabeyan olympics can transmit a signal to cool the melted fuel rods and contaminated tanks of tritium stored at fukushima. This leaking radiation has been recharging Yellowstone and associated volcanic systems and we can suck out the gamma radiation and crystalise the magma into precious metals and crystals
If anyone ever says that Australian rules football takes any skill show them this video 😂 Turning professional when learning about the sport in your 20s... Not a real sport.
oh please??? seriously?? Why has this video not been deleted yet?? Eddie could have gotten 3 better players with more passion, courage and knowledge of AFL from Tiwi Islands for half the price than he paid for this show pony. I have only 4 words as proof: AFL Grand Final 2018!!!!!!
