Hey 😃 What a fun idea for cakes . I just brought some cakes mixes Which I can use up first . And I’m going to try your cakes mix recipe.. What a super easy mix and love to have them ready for cup cakes or cakes .. this is a great way to put up mixes .... If I vacuum seal them can they last a while for future use .. Thanks you sooooo much .. 😃 can’t wait for cornbread and other fun mixes .. To have in my pantry .. take care 🥰 Blessing 👩🌾
I made this cake and it is delicious. I added about 1/4 cup of oil to it along with the stick of butter, and used 4 eggs. The last one I made I added a box of lemon pudding and zest of half of a large lemon. Topped it with a lemon glaze. This is my Easter cake. Don't hesitate to use this cake mix it turns out really good.
I have a cheat sheet in my kitchen cabinet that gives me the instructions of items on my shelf. For example, I have a "hamburger helper" mix and other similar mixes that need instructions. It's easy to open the kitchen cabinet and there are my instructions. No need to go to the basement and reapply the instructions. Hope this tip helps. Love your videos.
I use a small binder for my instructions! It sits in my kitchen, so when I need it, I just pull it out! I guess great minds think alike! Shalom and Blessings from Missouri.
This year I have really realized how important it is to be able to make things from scratch. Your channel has been a great resource for this. Thank you!
Had to come back and find this because my toddler wants to make peach upside down cake but I don’t have any yellow cake mix! So thankful you posted this last year!
Thank you so much for sharing. I have been canning for years. I tell my friends and family if they want a refill they have to bring the jars back. Haha.
Well Rachel I am back another year later- you have to re-do this video to refresh everyone. I, today have used my last jarred one & of course about to make another lot. I add sultanas to mine (and make sure I roll them in flour so they don't sink to bottom of cake). My husband is not a big sweet eater but when I make your cake recipe I think he hides it for himself. LOVE IT Cheers Denise- Australia
Oh my gosh I have been praying for God to show me something for my class at our faith builders co-op. I had my son make one today and I put one in a jar. Oh my gosh so yummy. I am so going to make lots more after I get more baking powder lol. God bless keep up the great inspection
Rachel, I enjoy any video I've ever seen you make. I haven't done this in a few years, but one year I did cookie mixes and my family loved it. My life has changed considerably since then, and it would be nice to have these available on my shelf. Thank you so much for the tutorial. Blessings, sweet lady! 🙂
Three traditional British Christmas cakes made (heavy fruit cake) 1 for us 2 for gifts for elderly neighbours. Now all I have to do is remember to feed each of them every week with a tablespoon of brandy for that extra special flavour. The icing gets put on just before the Christmas holidays.
Hi Rachel what a great idea can you please also share the chocolate cake and brownie mixture too 😊 😀 please pretty please my life just got easier seeing this 🙏 ❤ thanks a bunch
Really enjoying these videos on building up my pantry. Yes like going to Amish bulk store, my husband and I save up and then go shopping. We have a mini van so we take a big cooler and have a ball. Last time spent 800.00 dollars buying sugar , oatmeal , cases of sweet potatoes, apples all kind of spices and etc. the poor car was sitting low. We live in South Jersey so we go to Lancaster, Pa couple hours away. (It is a beautiful organic store.) We garden and can but this year didn't get any sweet potatoes in, almost done canning from our garden just doing jams and jellies. Trying to get up my nerve to can meats. Well take care and keep on teaching us. 😄
What a fabulous idea- Thanks Rachel I will try this as well as I am always quickly throwing together a banana cake if I know friends are coming. Cheers Denise - Australia
Yup, making muffin mix to put in my jars. Then can add the fruit on hand as well as all the other wet ingredients. The plums and apricots are on the trees n just waiting for them to ripen. Then in winter apple and cinnamon. Trick Rachel taught me, freeze them to help with self control.
My mom got me a Mason Jar gift giving recipe book probably 20 years ago and I've always wanted to do it, just never have. I just might this year! Lol Great ideas rachel. Thanks!!
I love this idea--not only for gift giving, but for my own pantry. How nice to keep some of these on hand instead of store bought. (PS....YT unsubbed me from your channel unbeknownst to me. Grrr at YT! I re-subbed!) God bless!
Can’t wait to try this! Making dinner for my moms birthday and needed a yellow cake recipe anyways. Going to make a few for the pantry too! Thank you for sharing.
This just made me think of a jalapeno cheddar cream cornbread mix in a jar. Omg and I think it would be good for weight lost to have it on hand for those moments where you know you want something just because it's not there or ready. If sweets are ready in jars it seems easier to say I'm good until another time lol. No rush since its already peacefully prepped and put away lol. John 15:5 King James Version 5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing. Amen
I have a air fryer and ordered items to make a different types of foods and a cake basket. my niece's son loves doing cooking activities with me, I'm a retired day care worker and i fo monthly activities with him each month. your video doesn't have a whole lot of yep, yap. you go straight to the recipe. 😊
I won't be doing much prep this holiday season we are going to my mom and dad's house but I do enjoy the mason jar cake mixes I used to make them for gifts
Thanks so much for this video. It will work out perfect for me for gifts. I have a broken arm and won’t be able to make the gifts I planned on for Christmas. I am looking forward to your other videos on cornbread, spice cake mix, and hot cocoa mix. Thanks again❤️
I wanted to come on here and say I just made this today for my kids and it came out sooooo good and moist, I had to cook it a little longer than what you suggested but oh my goodness I will never buy box cake mix again!! Thank you so much :0)
I watched this again and this time I think I will mix everything up in a bowl and then put into the jar because there are times when I make a cherry dump cake, I only need half of a cake mix and this way I can just use half at a time.
Would you by chance know how much cocoa to add for a chocolate cake? Fantastic idea and I am definitely going to do it. Also are you using 1/2 gallon jars? God Bless
This looks easy and fun. I’m wondering about getting powdered eggs, milk, butter and vanilla and adding those in? That would make it even easier to make a cake! I wish my relatives weren’t so sugar free, gluten free, dairy free, etc. It makes it hard to give them home canned and home made gifts.
