I have replayed ME Trilogy about 5 times now…. I never skip Elcor ambassadors explaining things to me…they know that they are speaking slowly compared to other races and they don’t want to waste your time… but they are so humbled when you actually want to listen to them.

In regards to the volus, their reliability on the turians isn't really an "alliance". The volus voluntarily had themselves absorbed into the turian Hierarchy, offering their skills in mercantilism for turian military protection. The Hierarchy is based heavily on Rome, meaning the volus are technically "lesser" citizens in turian society. Also, funny note about the turians. The turian term "barefaced" a turian that lacks colonial facial markings, is used to refer to a turian as one not to be trusted, or a beguiling individual. Prominent antagonist turians like Saren, or Warden Kuril are "barefaced". It's also used as slang for politicians.

I love the Salarians. Their high metabolism gives them a shorter life but they seem to do more in their short lives than any other race in the series. It's constant advancement and study to better, not just themselves, but their whole society in general. They don't live long, but they live more. They appreciate time, unlike the Asari to which time almost seems meaningless.

It is not accurate to say that Thane takes no responsibility for all of his killings. If that were the case then why would he be praying for forgiveness for what he has done. On his deathbed his son even tells Shepard that he has already prayed for the lives he has taken and that the last prayer was for Shepard. Someone who doesn't take responsibility would not pray for forgiveness for the lives they have taken so obviously Thane not only takes responsibility for them but it has actually deeply affected him.

I've been into ME since it's original game so I've had well over a decade to think over what I like best in the story and games, I've legit got thousands of hours logged in 2 and 3, hundreds of hours of each class actually. My favorite class has gotta be adept, though vanguard and engineer are close (and my favorite in part 2 is arguably the infiltrator, I think you all know why), the adept is my favorite across all 3 games. I just absolutely LOVE biotics. My only real gripe about the series in regards to biotics is that imo we should have had more options about boosting our biotic powers and the class we picked should have had more influence on the story. Like I remember different parts of conversations with Jack, Liara, Kaiden, Samara, Jacob, Miranda, and etc; where they would talk about their biotics or the biotics of others as if they were so overwhelmingly powerful or useful, when like 2 hours ago my Adept/Vanguard shep was just ripping apart time and space itself with Novas, Shockwaves, Flares, Mind controlling Reaper Hulks, and dishing out Slams with 1200+ newtons of force and barely breaking a sweat while doing it. I understand that if I'm a soldier or engineer that all the crew biotics are humongous assets in battle, actually they just are regardless, but come on! If I'm singlehandedly throwing around enough biotic power that I could likely topple a Reaper Dreadnaught solo if I had a few minutes to charge up? I should get at least a "Holy crap Shep, nobody told me you had insane biotics!" Rambling aside, the Asari are probably my favorite Citadel race just because of the biotics, their huge lifespans, and their unique military structure (plus the Justicars), second choice is the Salarians because they make mostly decisions that I would make and I love their tech.

Salarians are amphibians, not lizards. Similar to frogs or salamanders. The name salarian probably comes from salamander.

When speaking of the Asari instead of saying centuries, it would be more accurate and paint a better image if you were to say millennia. After all, the Asari found the Citadel over 2000 years ago in the lore. Saying centuries doesn't really convey over 2000 years.
