Aaaaaaaand here I go again. 1. Find a video about Mass Effect. 2. Remember how incredible the franchise was. 3. Get blown away by nostalgia. 4. Try not to cry. 5. Cry a lot. 6. Re-install the games.
+TheNameCannotBeFound Back when I played ME2, I got the worst ending possible. I actually cried but when I found out you could actually save everyone I started playing again. No other game did that to me.
+TheNameCannotBeFound At 0:41, these 4 notes made me cry... They remind me the cinematic when you're living the Earth in begining of ME3 (even if An end once and for all and Leaving Earth are slightly different)... Mass Effect is really the most soulful game I ever played. And i m planning on doing the trilogy once more soon, even if i m going to cry again at the end of ME3...
Kalahira, this one's heart is pure... But beset by wickedness and contention... Guide this one to where the traveler never tires... The lover never leaves.... The hunger never starve... Guide this one Kalahira... And he will be companion to you... As he was to me...
"I am the very model of a Scientist Salarian. I've studies species Turian, Asari, and Batarian. I'm quite good a genetics. It's a subset of biology because I am an expert, which I know is a tautology. My xenoscience studies range from urban to agrarian. I am the very model of a Scientist Salarian!" - Mordin
Pack your bags, boys and girls, we're going on a feels trip. Say what you will about the ending, Mass Effect is one of the greatest games of all time. Epic story, perfect music, memorable characters, the list goes on. Also: Taylor's dress.
Replaying the trilogy with the Legendary Edition. "Not sure if Turian heaven is the same as yours, but if this thing goes sideways and we both end up there... Meet me at the bar."
Bearcityman *hugs* same here aww fuck i'm crying even no!! ahh and its been a year since i heard this music!! haven't been able to play Mass Effect 3 after the first... err 13 playthroughs or so that i did. too damn heart breaking.
I want a remake on PS4,XBOX ONE and PC. So everyone can enjoy this epic journey. I always felt guilty when I did something wrong in ME. I always cry when I think of Shepard jumping into the green ray of energy. Imagine Liara, sitting crying in her home and looking at a pic of Shepard.
This war's brought us pain, and suffering, and loss. But it's also brought us together, as soldiers, allies... friends. This bond that ties us together is something that the Reapers will never understand. It's more powerful than any weapon, stronger than any ship. It can't be taken or destroyed. The next few hours will decide the fate of everyone in the galaxy. Every mother. Every son. Every unborn child. They're trusting you. Depending on you to win them their future. A future free from the threat of the Reapers! But take heart! Look around you! You're not in this fight alone. We face our enemy together, and together, we will defeat them!
The First three games are a miracle of storytelling, one of those rare gems that changes your perspective and broadens your mind JUST a LITTLE for having played it. They are eternally marked on our souls. #N7forLife Andromeda is about beginnings. It is the start of a new story, and if you progress with the memory quests has enough ties to the original that you can clearly tell it is the same Universe. Please for the love of the game, view it in its own light. It is magnificent, but it is meant to be a new experience, a new galaxy, and a very different array of stakes, people, and stories. Still phenomenal.
It's strange, but I always feel proud of RU-vidrs who I've watched for a while eventually start pumping out proper looking videos. And that's not a slam against and of your older content. I wouldn't have subscribed if I didn't like your stuff way back then. What I mean is that it warms my heart seeing people who are genuinely talented starting to get recognition for the things they work hard on. Of course this production was a joint effort and I just made myself laugh at the word "joint," but regardless... My point is that you've come a long way and it's great to see all these videos coming out and looking great. Keep it up girl and don't start getting cocky either! The flame dies the lighter believes it'll burn forever...
Hey thanks a lot, I really appreciate that and the fact that you've been watching since my older videos :) It's actually been really rewarding going from those low quality older ones to what I'm able to do now because you guys have directly helped me achieve this! I didn't make any money the first 2 years I posted videos so for a while I couldn't afford the nicer videos, and I also had a day job so I couldn't really put in the time either, but eventually when I started releasing albums you guys showed your support enough for me to reinvest and create more albums, I eventually quit my day job and started pursuing this full time and I couldn't be happier. Now between people purchasing my music and supporting my videos on Patreon, I can work with professionals from time to time and also afford upgrades in equipment for my home videos! Sometimes it felt like a struggle getting to this point, but I know I wouldn't be here without all of you and I'm so incredibly grateful and always will be because you're helping me live my dream :)
Daniel Jones the indoctrination theory falls apart if you realised that the third game does not follow the same story as the fist two, that is why there are huge contradictions in me3 based on what you have previously learned. an example of this is that in me3 the catalyst (the citadel) created the reapers. in me1 sovereign tells you the reapers created the citadel. there was actually an original ending to me3 that they threw out that was 10,000 better and actually made what sovereign said make more sense.
The way I personally see it is that the reason me3 is such a contradiction is due to the indoctrination attempts. the child says the catalyst created the reapers but I believe this is just a lie to convince you the kid is something more than shepards imagination. I may be entirely wrong though. Where can I find out more about the original ending?
Daniel Jones The Catalyst was created by the Leviathan race to end the conflicts between Organics and Synthetics. The Catalyst systematically chose the Leviathans as its first purge, and created the very first reaper based on their likeness -- the Harbinger.
Here it is 7 years later and I still feel the same way after hearing this. This is one song that will last forever and I will always have the same emotions.
of course kootra would comment on this. i have to agree i haven't played the games but this is absolutely wonderful and thismakes me want to play the game. Keep up the great work Taylor your music is amazing
darkhope97 natural way is blue or green.green promises peace in the milkyway cus they all united as one and that would preserve life.or blue and u could moderate
Hey Kevin. It's literally the only game that ever captured the real-world nightmare of "no matter what you do, how HARD you try, we're all going to fail." ...and then we actually do keep trying, as hard as we can, to do EVERYTHING, be---- ----because what else is there? We can just give up. Look at it, it's obviously hopeless. STOP making it more painful. Just give in. No. Even if we're going to lose, we're going to tell EVERYONE that WE did EVERYTHING WE could. I don't need a legacy, MY legacy is that we didn't stop, we didn't cower, we didn't cave, we put *EVERYTHING* we were right up to the line. And you "reapers" aren't qualified to "quantify" that. You can't "know" what we are, WHO we are, and what we've done and given. You're the worst and smallest of who we were. We now? We're your failure. We're hope.
Mass effect 3 was a good game from music to voice acting and story. It was a beautiful experience that I'll always remember and cherish. The only flaw was the ending not the whole thing the game should be appreciated , it was both creative and meaningful. I hope Mass Effect 4 will be just that and more *-*
(I only played ME about a few months ago) though my Shepard survived the end, this whole sequence had me crying like a bitch because I thought Shep was really dead and I was never gonna see anyone again, Garrus, Joker, Wrex, Grunt..... Tali :'( I just wanted to build that house, but then Shepard took the breath, and I don't think I've ever been so happy about something in a video game in my entire life, you did an excellent job paying this song :)
I just got to play again recently, and I feel exactly the same. I'm quite sad that the breathing scene was the end though... we can't actually see the reaper-free world with Shep's view :(
The ending was bad but I don't really care. I loved the game and can't wait for mass effect 4. A first look with the developers at E3 showed all new characters.
fear not because i can help you in a way. if you are up for a good read m.fanfiction.net/s/8260224/1/ it will most likely fit the criteria of your play through. for me it matched my play through perfectly
Viking Warlord I don't ever read fanfiction, like ever at all, but I read a certain story because I was looking for more closure (not this one that actually fit it better than this one) and am now at peace with it and happy, though I will read this for the hell of it
Im right now playing what most be my 890538593093580920 playthrough of the game. Best Game series so far ever created. Oh and also. Awesome Awesome song :)
So true mate it is the best game series ever i think i have made the most badass looking shepard ever im biased though lol i have a few vids on my channel check them out and see what you think but this music is so stunning really captures the sombre mood at the end but i really have not experienced a game that has left me feeling so empty at the end just gotta play it again though enjoy ur reaper bashing
Björn J I dont know if its the best ... but it ceartanly is a great game I nearly poured 1200 hrs of gaming in. I dont know if i like it as a Game but I certainly LOVE the depth of the Masseffect Univers with its species, economie, kultur and indivudel charackters.
I like the series and the music (and this interpretation as well). Somehow I knew that my Shepard was probably dying in the rubble of London at the start of the illusive run on the beam that apparently happened only in her imagination during the last blink of the eyes, I could feel it everywhere. I just love it ;)
I sometimes get asked why I still play video games given I'm a 38 year old male. This is usually followed by a comment about video games being a kids toy. I calmly tell them that it's not a "toy" but is rather a entertainment medium same as movies, TV or music. There are of course kid themed versions of all that but a lot of it is adult themed as well. I enjoy games like Mass Effect, Elder Scrolls, Fallout, Dragon Age, various Star Wars games, The Last of Us, etc. because they're generally developed for gamers who enjoy a good story, good game play and I'd be remiss if I didn't mention that all the examples I listed had amazing musical scores to them as well. The music really helps with the emotion of the game and this excellent rendition of An End, Once and For All really sets the mood. Also, both of you ladies looks fantastic in your N7 themed dresses.
+Daniel Kunkle don't blame you mass effect is the best game series of this genre. I played it 6 times all way through 1-3 and I can play this on piano.
+Daniel Kunkle I'm 39 and I've been playing games since the original atari. I enjoy them immensely. From action packed shooters like DOOM to riveting story lines like the ME series, It's enjoyment for all ages!
This song is perfect, it captures the feeling of the last game, fighting your last battle after a long journey, so much misery and sadness because you know this is goodbye. Great work from the composer
I hate when a musician this good is so beautiful that makes double art while playing. Makes über-hyper-art. It's actually unfair towards humanity, makes me want to explode into toxic shining shimmering splendid lovelights that might extinguish mankind, and become a demigod along with her. *sigh* But I can't do that. I'm just a ninja. Oh wait...
That was simply beautiful and amazing, that track makes me feel so many emotions and it is just so majestic. I honestly would love it if you also did "I Was Lost Without You". By the way, awesome dress.
You can only have one first impression, and the majority of people didn't have that as their first. I was lucky and waited to play so avoided the disappointment. Ending was great for me.
This could be an ode to the fall of Bioware. :( These games are something special and I don't think we will ever see anything like them again. The golden era of gaming.
Reasons why this is awesome: 1; Mass Effect is my favorite video game series. 2; Mass Effect also has absolutely amazing music. 3; Taylor Davis is one of my favorite musicians. 4;........classified. 5; Genuinely beautiful regardless of the 4 reasons above.
8 years later, I finally play the entire trilogy and discover my favorite violinist did a cover of the best score of the game. Literally have a tear in my eye
This song brings tears to my eyes every time I hear it (thanks to the ME3 ending). It reminds me of the love that Shepard had for Ashley (i chose Kaidan as my loss and made Ashley my loved one) and it all going to waste as Shepard sacrifices himself to make sure the generations that came after him would live in peace. Mass Effect is more than a game, its an experience. As we play through the game we grow strong bonds with the characters within it like EDI, Joker, Tali, Liara and the many other characters. We can even fall in love with someone in the game and we can watch as that relationship blossoms, we can really feel how strong that relationship is towards the end. I played as a MaleShep and as soon as I set my eyes on Ashley I fell in love with her. When I got to the end i chose to control the reapers as I felt that Shepard wouldn't truly be gone, he would only be inside the reapers. But when the flashbacks of Admiral Anderson and Ashley started going that's when I started bawling my eyes out, it was as if i was feeling the grief that Ashley would have had to go through. Not a lot of games can do this... The Mass Effect experience is like a dream, its amazing while your inside but unfortunately like every other dream.....we all have to wake up at some point p.s. I love how you even went the extra mile by wearing the N7 shirt/dress. Subbed :)
There will be peace with synthetics in the future. Tali knows. Joker knows. I'm sorry I had to leave you Liara, I'm sorry Kaidan, Ashley, EDI and Legion, but Shepard had to make the call that nobody else could.
gassnake2004 lol dought it.i mean the reapers got how many dominate races?asari, salarians, krogan if cured, humans, turian, volus, quarians kinda.each makes a soverign ship XD.also lets not forget they can take control of geth and make another collector like race.what im trying 2 say is that unless the future species can supass all prvious species there fucked.or just clone calros, bitch bigger than a sovergin class reaper.sovrrigs are 2000m long, kalrois is 2800 or so
kheelah selai shep. you will be with us forever. true hero's live on best times of my live have been on that ship. it's been one hell of a ride you did good child. i'm proud of you
not the same with out the Reaper BWAAMMM! still good though... I bet if most people who are not into games heard this they would find it hard to believe this is from a video game...
A game franchise that build upon choices and consequences but in the end destroy that notion. Most people angry not because they hate the game but the opposite, they love it so much. I understand what EA and Bioware was doing, they want to maximized profit but I cannot and will not accept doing that at the cost of the game dogma. This apparent even before release with day-1 DLC. Your rendition is awesome. However, this melody just remind me of the disappointment T-T
SPOILERS While I am still pissed that all the decisions you can make at the end of the game lead to Shepard's death (I really don't understand why he had to step into the beam), I kinda understand why Bioware chose to kill off Shepard. I mean, would you really be happy if the whole series ended all happy-go-lucky? The third game was dark, and for good reason. We all knew that when the Reapers arrived, countless people would die. When I started playing ME3 on day one, I had a bad feeling that no matter what I did, Shepard would die, or at least most of his friends would. This feeling got worse and worse as I got deeper in the game. The whole atmosphere of the game gave away the ending. That being said, the ending still hit me like a train.
This video brought back all the emotions. I remember the first time I played the trilogy. Then when there were so many losses in ME3. Mordin, Anderson, Thane, so many people
I can't listen to this without getting choked up. This evokes something deep within that to me is beyond a video game. Thank you both for this lovely rendition.
Oh god, that tore me up. The Mass Effect trilogy are some of the most emotional games, if not stories in general for me, and this was absolutely beautiful. Thank you so much for this. I don't want to cry, but the more I listen to this, the harder that becomes. I think I need to go back and play the trilogy again.
stopped playing ME3 when I realized that the game can hear you... is scared the shit outta me. T_T (was playing on Xbox) I still loved the game to death, though. the ending isn't a problem for me. (the extended cut is FREE! why some of you are still complaining?! they're giving us a better ending for FREE, you ungrateful bastards DX)
Well, parts of the Extended Cut have been interpreted by many as deliberate and rather juvenile insults directed at the fanbase, so there is that, if nothing else. That said, I've mostly made peace with it, myself. The ending was garbage, but the rest varied from decent to amazing, and it's sort of a waste of time to sit around fuming about one very ill-advised bit of writing. Mass Effect is one of my favourite video game series, and it takes more than just one mess to change that. Bring on Mass Effect 4, I say. And no, I'm not going to stop calling it that until we get a proper title, no matter what Bioware says.
meh, I don't really care what people call the next mass effect. it doesn't have a name yet, as you said. ^^' I just find it incredibly stupid that some people didn't get over it yet. that's all.
well, Kinect features... it was the first time it ever worked... (yes, I play on Xbox.) I knew it was supposed to allow me to give tactical commands to my party, but when I started to comment with the banter on Mars... I don't know anymore if that was just a big coincidence, but the microphone icon appeared while I started talking and right after that, the banter EXTENDED and they started talking with Shepard. (or at least that's what it looked like. anyway, it scared the shit outta me)
For all the hate this game got, finishing out the series gave me a feeling I have yet to experience again. Bioware had massive success with these games, and I can't wait for when a singlepalyer narrative trilogy (even two or a single game) capture what Mass Effect captured and made the player feel, from the music to the characters to the story, it was just so compelling. Of course they weren't completely perfect, we only remember the good parts, but there were so many good parts which remain in our memory. This is why I will never go back and replay a great game again. Never went back to replay the ME trilogy dissecting the game picking all the different choices. Never went back and played FC3 after that epic ending. Never went back to AC 1 or 2 (before they became repetitive and shit AC:BF was decent) because they all just left this good feeling, a good taste in my mouth, a good memory, I didn't want to spoil by going back and experiencing all the bad things again (mostly aged graphics). We need the game industry to pull back in this direction, constructing masterpieces that can be praised for years to come. Compelling narratives that become our second life, publishers and companies that *care* about the very people that keep them in business. Games can be an art form, but right now it seems people are just throwing their poo on a canvass.
Right in the feels... I miss this awesome game... I miss every minute i played all 3 games... I miss all the awesome crewmates... And i miss Tali x Shepard ...
darlack0301 yes. She did amazing. Mark meer sounded like he sort of read the script as if a teacher was telling him to read. Just sort of plain reading. Femshep for the win
Steej You're referring to Leaving Earth of which An End, Once And For All is basically a reprise. Leaving Earth contains the 'reaper sound' and accompanies the Normandy's departure, leaving Anderson behind. This piece here plays at the very end after you have made your choice and the crucible fires, when the reaper threat, symbolized with the blaring horn sound, is over one way or another.
***** uhhh I dont know troll.....maybe because it was a 6 year cliffhanger to lead to disappointment? I often wonder why people disagree to just disagree on the internet? Maybe to further doom the human race with the twitter generation bs, non sensical train of thought.
***** true agree with everything you say. But I personally was emotional y invested into the characters I got to know for 6 years....the ending felt like a kick in the testicles after countless time and money invested
***** Guys may I tell you my opinion? Liam I disagree that it would be difficult to have different ending, ending which would have a meaning.Endings in the basic were shit... but endings in the extended endings DLC were converted to THE SHIT. Why I think that ? Well those endings didn't had any logical sense in the beginning and and in its basic state could be explained by the thing that in the end Shepard became indoctrinated and those choices were his hallucinations. So my point is that when Biware released that extended ending DLC in which they explained how everyone lived after each ending, indoctrination explanation of utter nonsense became not applicable. If yo want to see timeworthy ending, with really logical explanation and to me without plotholes I would advise you to check on MEHEM mod's last version . Mod which was made BY the players FOR the players))))
Your Beautiful, talented and you play the violin amazing well. And your taste in games is perfect. The Mass Effect trilogy are by far thee best games i ever played aside from The Last Of Us, a great game. I may pick up a few of your albums. The Lord of the Rings song you played made me cry i admit.
I'd like to be able to play this game for the first time once again. I mean, even if I still get a lots of feels when I'm replaying, ME is the only video game series that made me cry. I'm sorry Wrex, Grunt, Jack and Tali, I've failed you T_T
