Great review, solid insights, thank you! Out of everything, I think I'm most disappointed that the "flavor text" was underwhelming. To be faithful to the series, there really needed to be something compelling in there that would shape debate over which next mission to run or something. A mission without a moral dilemma, or getting hit by the law of unintended consequences, or a lore reveal that reframes what you thought you knew just isn't a memorable mass effect mission. Glad to hear the game mechanics seem solid and fun though. Maybe if it is popular, someone with some writing chops will put out an unofficial rewrite.

The rulebook being bad is a recurring problem for Modiphius. The Skyrim board game also has an almost useless rulebook. They really need to do better.

This is my favorite video game. Great insight. Sounds like the game is great but there are things I know now going in that I will have to do to the game for the best experience for my players. I might actually enjoy changing things and printing things even though it shouldn’t be necessary.

"Disrupt Transceiver" is spelled wrong in Mission 1A. That would bug me constantly.

I love ME but this game just doesn't seem fun enough or RPG enough. I think ISS Vanguard does it better.

I find it interesting that two former fantasy flight legends (corey konieczka and Eric Lang) both release similar games at the same time. I'm a huge ME fan but it appears corey made a better game in Mandalorian Adventures.

Is there a coherent story that you get from playing it? Or by “campaign” is it just a string of independent missions.

Not to forget it´s an Eric M. Lang Game after a long time ;)

I adore ME and will probably get this but imho will probably add some house rules. Whoever plays Shepard is the MC of the game, that may be lore accurate but this isnt a 1P game. Also I believe that Paragon / Renegade should affect players thematically, not mechanically, at the very least, don't punish player for being Renegade, or maybe not necessarily make Paragon or Renegade an easier or harder choice. Other than that I wish the game provided rules to make your own characters and scenarios.
