I would love if this would be canon. One series in the past on a different planet, one in the future. There is one more Easter Egg: In Inquisition there has been a Mage staff been included with a DLC called the Lyrium infused staff that looks like a Mass Relay.

My theory is that dragon age and mass effect are occurring simultaneously and that the entire dragon age world exists as an uncharted world that the citadel council hasn't made first contact with yet. Either they are not ready, or their planet hasn't been found yet. This would explain the guy with all the references to mass effect. Maby he somehow made it off world and possibly found his way to the citadel. It would also explain the Krogan head. Nearly 2000 years ago, the Krogan unleashed a war of Conquest across the galaxy, colonizing nearby worlds. Who's to say that they never tried to colonize the Dragon age world and that head is some sort of battle trophy

Maybe Solas has something to do with it? Or a connection to the Mass Effect universe was the result of a blood magic ritual gone wrong? It seems a common occurrence in Thedas...

I have just recently decided to replay and finish the Mass Effect series, thanks to COVID. I’ve never played ME3 and only briefly played the first 2 games. Nothing much in depth. However, I’ve played the Dragon Age series dozens of times and I’ve come to the conclusion that not only does Thedas exist in the ME universe, but that the events of Mass Effect (is the Repears and the Cycles) are a direct cause to the events on Thedas. Evidence throughout Dragon Age suggests that possibly a Dead Repear is buried deep within Thedas’ core. This would explain, Red Lyrium, the Primordial’s, twisted Dark Spawn, the corrupted “Old Song” the Old Gods and various other things. I would also suggest that Dragon Age is occurring at the same time as ME in a story perspective. Javik mentions that Asari, Aquarian, Humans were all “primitives” during his cycle. Meaning, that while the Repear’s harvest “all sentient life” in the galaxy, it suggests their definition of sentient is limited to “Space Flight” races. Meaning that the Repears leave certain life alone to evolve and continue the next cycle of evolution.

Sims 4 actually takes place in the same universe, connecting Mass Effect and Dragon Age. You can build a time machine and go back in the past, where you sim gets lost in "deep dark tunnels" and is "guided to the surface by a warden" (Deep Roads and Grey Warden) and then go to the far future and hear tales of how "a great shepard saved the universe from a huge threat" (Commander Shepard and the Reapers)

My only objection to this theory is what happened to magic? You could argue that it's just called biotics in Mass Effect but I don't see a single person shooting lightning or fire from thier fingertips. It's seems like an entirely power.

I like the theory that the two universes are connected by the Eluvian. When Morrigan stepped through she ended up in the ME universe where she started experimenting on the geth(Admiral Xen).

Relay Refuling Theory: Mass effect fields happen by hitting element zero with magnetic fields, reapers use hydrogen powered fusion to power the element zero inthe relays. This would mean that they would emit Helium, which would go un-noticed in a nebula, which is where most of the relays are. So my theory is that the reapers would have to refuel the relays after each harvest. This could either be done with ambient hydrogen throughout the galaxy or with water, my reason for thinking that they use hydrogen is because it would have two byproducts, Helium and neutronium. i.imgur.com/fT6jkcL.png This from the presentation where Germany fired up their new Stellerater recently. That byproduct of a single neutron without a proton is also known as element zero, which typically has a half life of only about 15 minutes, but mass effect might be ignoring that, or maybe in the game they have found a way to stabilize it. Anyway this would mean that the reapers could be using the mass relays to produce more element zero, perhaps use in the building of new mass relays and to build drive cores for reapers. The point is, they might be using the relays to make more relays. We know that relays are different ages, since the omega 4 relay is one of the oldest ever found, so this would seem to indicate that after each cycle, reapers build and refuel the relays. This makes me wonder if they started off with a small network and eventually built it out larger, using the relays to make the element zero required for such an extensive network. In order for the repers to get into a relay, they would need turn down or off the mass effect field or counter it by making their own drive core compensate, we know that mass effect fields can do this since the slam abelity first makes an opponent lighter, then heavier. This would also explain why the reapers are so big, during the harvest, it carries troops, after the harvest it carries fuel and element zero. Side theory, the relay has a defense mechanism where it intensifies the field if something without a reaper IFF tries to dock, thus making the complex docking maneuver impossible as the slightest push of a thruster would send it light years away. This also opens up the possibility of getting onto a mass relay to anybody with a broken reaper, if all you need is a massive drive core and reaper IFF, say like T'chunka or Rannoch, where reapers were taken down in both places... That is assuming the Krogan figure out how to get a reaper chew toy away from the mother of all threashermaws... yea, lets call that gone. Rannoch should be able to do it though. Though after the ending of 3, they are all down and anybody in the system should be able to get onto one to repair it. Ooh yea, the dragon age theory... Maybe? I could see it being in an parallel universe that leaks over sometimes, but I could also see it just being easter eggs and easy to reuse models.
@OuterOdyssey
@OuterOdyssey 8 лет назад
+00meat Plays This is actually super compelling idea and the thought behind it is really amazing. Really like the concept that the Reapers are thrifty in a sense that maybe actually re-using their relays and it makes sense; with the Reapers in a continual cycle of harvest and hibernation, maximising their resources.

+Mass Effect Odyssey Mass relays are hard, I am sure even for the reapers. Setting up and maintaining a network must be a lot of work. Post harvest seems like the perfect time to maintain, reset, and refuel everything. We know they intentionally try to wipe out all record of themselves. So here is why I think the Prothean base on mars survived. The relay orbiting Pluto, it was encased in ice before being activated by humans, I always thought that was a little odd. How dose a mass relay just accidentally get encased in ice? Answer, it doesn't. The Protheans did it. We know they had a base on Mars where they kept archives, including plans for the crucible. Towards the end, they were hiding and just trying to wait the reapers out. What if the Protheans encased the relay in ice to hide the archives? How would you even do that? Where would you get that much water? Answers: Trick the relay into refueling mode to let the water get close without scattering it with mass effect fields. But where did the water come from? Remember those big oceans that mars used to have... and doesn't anymore? They could have used that, or they could have used water from Europa, but mars stands out to be because it is a place that is obviously missing water that it used to have. TLDR: Protheans harvested water from mars, triggered refueling mode on the mass relay, and encased the relay in ice to save the archives so we could get the plans for the crucible and stop the reapers. I just don't see any other ways that it could have payed out to end up with the archives surviving on mars and a frozen relay. When Shepard blew up a relay, it took the entire system with it. Reapers must have assumed that same thing happened here, and since flying out here to check would take forever, they must have decided not to. This would be somewhat similar to the show Stargate, whenever you wanted to isolate a planet, all you would have to do is bury the Stargate, a device that makes an on-demand wormhole and connects to a network, all in all a very good analog for the mass relay system.

I was thinking about it last night, some evidence for this is that at the end of ME:1, Soverign latches onto the citadel and can control it, the citadel after all is also a mass relay. It makes me wonder if there are keepers on the other relays too.

Maybe if they keep Dragon Age going long enough we could get a Fall of Reach game going?
@AlexBlackRaven
@AlexBlackRaven 7 лет назад
Out of all, these facts may only confirm that dragon age was AFTER mass effect, in the next cycle, not before. Not everyone harvested, so it's possible that animals were spread across the galaxy long before both games happening, and krogan may just have been made primitive after reaper harvest. Dragons are in human culture, vanity items don't confirm anything. But the possibility of that is very low, and inconsistencies in timelines are usually an easter egg thing.

... I just remembered in ME:3 when you choosed to be a synthesized, everything ingulf in green light just like Fade... You know, b4 Dragon Age, Fade and Thedas isn't separatr by veil. Maybe because of the combining of synthetic and lifeform we can got the "magic" power from the Fade. Then it's become complicated again since Solas trapped the Elven God on the Fade and make a veil... Who knows

Interesting. I haven't gotten to play dragon age: inquistion, but some of the easter eggs I should have caught. I never made the connection to the quarian boy losing his mother in me2 and his father in me3. The rest I always just chalked up to bioware giving nods to their other games. For instance, if you ever play Kingdom of Amular and also played the ME3 trailer, you can find some armor pieces named after Shepard, that looks a lot like Shepard's armor from ME3, including a pair of daggers that look very similar to his orange, holographic hand blade thingee. Would be cool though if they were in the same universe; could you beat a reaper by creating a breach to the fade on it? :P

It isn’t really the “Maker” they pray to, it is the Mako! “Mako preserve me/us” is a reference to the Mako’s high damage resistance and climate controlled interior. “Mako’s breath” is the coaxial machine gun. “Mako’s wrath” is the main Gun!

Eh, I actually don't care for this theory. Besides, Mass Effect is way better than Dragon Age. I liked the games, especially Origins. Inquisition though was a major let down and the story was all over the place and had really no actual plot. The characters are also uninteresting, aside from Varric, Sera, Dorian, and Blackwall (I am not counting returning characters). It's just that Karpyshyn, Walters, and Freed are just way better writers than David Gaider. Plus Inquisition tried way to hard to be "progressive", whereas the Witcher 3 was dark and had a very "realistic" setting, monsters aside. I wish Dragon Age was more like that. DA has a lot of original elements, and Origins had a fantastic story, but it just isn't as great as Mass Effect in my opinion. Also, another piece of evidence...one of the demons that you fight at the rifts makes the same noise as the banshee in Mass Effect. The screetching.
@OuterOdyssey
@OuterOdyssey 8 лет назад
+MisterCharlton Fair enough, we are diehard Mass Effect fans but we also do like DA. I do consider myself a pretty big DA fan though and I have to say, I did really, really enjoy DAI; it was by far one of the best games that have come out since ME3 but again that is just opinion - Rima :-)
@MisterCharlton
@MisterCharlton 8 лет назад
Mass Effect Odyssey Yeah, and completely respectable as well. I really did enjoy Inquisition, but I just did not think the characters were as interesting or the story made much sense. That's just me though. While I enjoy the series, I honestly think that the greatest contribution that David Gaider ever made to BioWare was creating and writing a certain character we all know and love. One word: meatbag.
