Great spot. My friends uncle got the gold pin for largemouth there. It was 9.9 in 1999. I've done ok their but need to walk more and put more time in. Nice Smallies bud.
Hey man super nice fish and etiquette especially in a place like Wachusett. You might want to consider tightening your drag though since you don't want it to slip on hooksets like it did multiple times in the video, it will increase your chances of keeping the fish pinned with the hooks in 'em so they can reach your hand sooner and helps overall fight confidence.
Thanks man! For sure I had the drag too loose on those first two fish, Ive bent a few treble hooks out recently with the drag too high so I backed it off but deff too much. Prob cost me that second fish that came off. You can actually hear me clicking up the drag mid fight on the first one too lol. I had it dialed in much better for the last fish. Thanks for watching!
@@ne_outdoors93 Of course man! Loved the overall production. I’m glad you’re super aware of the drag and if you’re bending out trebles, try replacing them with different ones as oftentimes the native trebles that come with baits, especially topwaters, are inadequate for the very thing they’re intended for.
I try to avoid contact with the water there as much as possible, but if it’s necessary for reviving and safely releasing a fish then I’ll do what I have to do! Thanks for watching!
