Out of everyone who's had this tractor on demo, and made a video this is the one that's made the most sense and is a genuine representation of someone who runs Massey's and their genuine views plus's and minus's of this tractor based on years of working with the brand. A bit like topgear used to be like to be! People seem to talk woffle about new cars and machinery giving no constructive points of benefit for the perspective owner
You totally and completely overlooked my favorite feature on any loader! The mechanical parallel linkage that keeps the loader bucket or forks at a constant angle as the boom goes up and down!!! That's a feature that should be on every single front loader!!! I ran loaders for over 40 years and could not stand loaders that did not have that feature! At least all telehandlers that I have seen have the hydraulic parallel linkage. I also love a loader bucket that has a heel for back dragging! They grade so much better than a bucket that has a rounded bottom!!! Another absolute must-have feature is the automatic bucket leveling switch! Another absolute must-have on a loader is a clutch lockout switch. Joystick operates loaders are okay but they're very sluggish and slow to respond! I do love joystick control skid steers and mini track loaders and dozers. Joystick control on the loader itself is also a must instead of the old two lever control!
Nice! And only on tick over or just a little bit more than that. Only thing I find strange is the rims on the front axle. For a loader tractor i would choose fully welded rims like the ones on the back.
Did really well on the loader work there. Nice and smooth - no need to rev the hell out of it, gets everything done without all the noise and smoke and just as quick!
Good review Dan the fact that the loader joystick carries on moving the loader after you release it is very frustrating but Massey will not admit it’s a problem. My dealer had to change mine on a 5713 to a quicke type because I wasn’t happy with it. My previous 5612 had the same spec electric one and it was perfect
Great review Dan, it's a smart tractor and as much as I love a Massey these new ones with all the gadgets and gizmos, they don't fit our farm. I have a 5455 Dyna4 with a loader, Anyone can jump on and drive it. Its simple, economic and reliable - can't see me ever changing it.
Good honest review... whether your a massey man or jd or whatever marque you really have too be impressed how far things have come the past few yrs.... not that long ago you'd be trying to clean that waste hay up with a 2wd tractor. ... possibly no cab ... stuck all the time ...but now your sitting in virtual silence... comfortable ...all services close too hand and at your finger tips ticking over n doing a job effortlessly...👍
Soooo when’s the blue equivalent coming as a comparison 🤔🤪🤪. Can you imagine me going from the 698 to that, I wouldn’t know where to start 🤣. A nice tractor but I reckon that aimed at farmer P or me kinda people, good spec for a main tractor
Does the bucket have a return to level feature and indicator. I remember digging in too deep on grandfather's loader tractor because it required experience to judge the level of the bucket
I still can't understand why you prefer a front loader tractor to a wheel loader. we have a front loader for emergencies and every time it gets a bit tight you notice how clumsy you are compared to the wheel loader/ teleporter with twice as much power, the argument that you can also use it as a tractor doesn't count for me if there are still two or more equal tractors in the shed. but I recommend the front loader for the 5712 as a second loader next to a wheel loader or teleporter😉
Great review Dan an Dad👍 think I'd have some to drive it on conventional shuttle as that bloody beep every time you change direction 🤔😡 too technical for me 😂
In my own experience I have found massey ferguson not interested in helping smallholders they would not even give us a brochure on the tractor we were looking at they won't even support us with our 3095 for us very poor customer service
