8.4 Litre 6 Cylinder Turbocharged Intercooled diesel. 370hp (400hp at boost) very nice, ergonomic layout; plenty of features, too many to list. Loved my 2012 8690, nice smooth Dyna VT transmission, 50K gearbox, effortless to drive and fairly easy to maintain. Never let me down from Cultivations to hauling cattle/ bale/ grain trailers around Lincolnshire. Lorded it over next doors 8530 all in all a brilliant tractor.
This brand has come a LONG way in the last 3 years, my favorite now but never was in the past. To drive/operate a new Massey is a revelation in farm tractor tech, the VT trans is pure magic
I occaisonally drive an old Massey 3690 Datatronic with Dyna shift at work on an airfield using a Spearhead 620 Topper, as an additional part of my job, this tractor is also used for snow clearing operations, its never broke down yet while in use, (may wish I never said that) however a friend of mine who has had 2 Joun Deere's has had nothing but trouble with them, ECU's Fuelling problems etc. Therefore I'm sold on a Massey! I also have my own tractor at home a humble International 276!
They do, I let them know in the pubs and clubs as they were under the illusion that we all rock about in Massey 35 style machines! This machine is a beast, I'll put a vid up at some point of mine; mine was beefed up with some wider tyres, 500kg weights (2x250kg) on each of the back wheels with 1300kg on the front, twin beacon, cracking tunes going on in the background....a sight to behold!
@romek565 Song is 'Watching Stars' by Sharooz Raoofi. Brilliant track and very difficult to get hold of. If you read back at these comments, I asked the same question and there and someone gave instructions on how to obtain a copy (I can't remember how I did it now as it was so long ago). It's not on iTunes or wasn't when I last checked but well worth searching out. I did manage to download a copy onto my iTunes eventually but frustratingly cannot seem to transfer it from my PC to my iPod.
@WickyWiggstaz MF and Fendt are working together in improving both brands. Like in th early 90's John Deer & Zetor MF & landini Hurlimann & Same?? Well Case Farmall , Ford/NH, Fiat & Steyr same tracktor differrent colour Mc Cormick back after years but it looks too much as a Case International
Nice tractor, but keep it in Europe...... We farm in the Northern Terrtory, Australia and Tractors like Fednt, Massey,Deutz just dont work........... Tend to over heat due to extreme conditions, combination of high air hummidity and dust... we run Deer's and case..... :)
Nice tractor...However, M/F and other tractor manufacturers need to design and build even larger and more powerful tractors and implements with engines, tires and drivetrains rivalling those of mining trucks and tractors (1000-5000 HP) to handle the work and demands of the world's largest farms and ranches....
The massey is favourite tractor.but get it why don't the finish the exhaust off at the top as the same with all all the way up.like deuts has it done some models.
Too bad the video doesn't give us a really good look at the tractor. Multiple closeups of the headlights, some switches, and a display screen just don't cut it. Beyond those, we get brief glimpses at odd angles of other tractor parts and siezure inducing flashes of fieldwork. Slow down, cut the techno music, give us a good look at the tractor and give us a voiceover telling us about it, PLEASE!
How about a few more shots of the techno-geekery and a few less of the headlights and bonnet cowling. Hardly the most important part of a working machine?
