You never cease to amaze me how you work with Neptune. I've never seen a intact bull be so cooperative and just easy going. You've done very well with your animals and definitely like your approach, wish more people would take the time to be kind to their livestock. Thank you for sharing this, Rusty in OK
Tom if possible would you show us your milk tanker and driver. Maybe show us where the milk that you don’t use in the store goes. Just curious is all. I’m a driver here in the states and find your trucks and ways of hauling interesting. Better in many ways in fact. No worries if can’t. Love the highlands.
Fun to watch because I’m sitting on my couch...not running after the Highlands. 😂🤣😝. Neptune is such a stud...what’s the old saying..”like a kid in the candy shop”! 🤣🥰
I love the Highlands cows! I grew up on my Grandparent's large US dairy farm with Jersey, Guernsey, and Holstein cattle. For some reason, to me, the Jersey, Guernsey were always so much more gentle and mellow than the Holsteins were. From watching Highlands on your channel as well as a few YT channels here in the US with these very hairy, cuddly, soft lovable cattle seem to be even more mellow. I want to have my own small farm here in the US, hoping someday soon, this WILL be a reality. For now, I just get to watch AWESOME channels like you guys! I love that you are so wonderful to your herds like my Family was.
Good to I am not the only one that plans an replans a cattle move and it all goes so smoooooothly........for the most part. You are great at this Tom keep up the good work!!!
Great minds think alike! Lol! I was just coming to ask about Heidi! I've missed seeing her on here! But I'm so very proud for her moving onto vet school! She'll make a Great one! Keep us posted about Heidi, Tom!
Hey! I am starting vet school in Autumn, you might not see me on many videos but I'm still working hard on the farm :D Whilst I am busy preparing for university, stepping back from sharing my farm animal vet journey for a period of time is very healthy.
Neptune: Well, I’ve had a bit of cake, so I best go earn my keep! Neptune is accompanied to the field, and in a matter of moments proceeds to cover a cow!
Tom, You have nerves of steel- trying to get Neptune from eating cake and pushing him down the alley lol.... I would have been afraid he would pin you to the walk or gate.. Be safe and Have fun! :)
Neptune is such a cruzey bull for a big boy, had afew favorites like him when beef and dairy farming. Wouldn't want a damage bill from those highlands having a scratch on a car thou, watched 3 2yr old augus bulls wreck a D40 navara in about 10minutes after someone drove in to there break feed insted of from other end of pdk so behind 2 fences
OMG Neptune is a beast!! A big handsome beast! Man it could've been like a bull in a China shop except in the bakery haha you know how it goes with Gingers Tom that's where the Highlands get it lol have a wonderful day another awesome video done!
Glad its not just us that struggle moving our highlands around!! Having said that, your look a bit more tame than ours, any tips to make them a little friendlier?
Great looking bull but I have to say he's on the heavy side for heifers, you are risking injury. I away put my bull on a pretty good diet before breeding season. It would be easier on his feet too
@@khancrow8212 why is he feeding him cake so. No bull needs supplementary feed during the season. He came into the season too heavy. Its not hard to keep their weight down before they go out to grass.
@@kevinwc5439 right...i stated that he is most likely well aware of the situation not that you were wrong....if his cows/heifers were getting injured from breeding he would put two and two together pretty quick...
@@Doyle7810. can't remember - she left a long comment on a past thread about finding balance and avoiding compromising her studies and the link was there but me being super lazy I didn't subscribe.
Think Jo is feeding you to well out of condition, just a little running puffing like an oldman. Nice to see Neptune doing his duty, hope to see the results later on.
Ginger guy with the moustache can still move when he needs to. Lots of folk asking about Heidi. Have you parted company and that's why you haven't mentioned anything and got Luke in?
