A backyard transformation would be great Catherine, I would love to see this, you have a beautiful property and I know with your touches it will look fabulous! I find just cleaning up and power washing to start makes a huge difference. What a great shed and it will help you quit a bit separating the items in each shed! Great video! (we need 1 of those retractable awning companies to sponsor your deck transformation, LOL)

For the chemicals, look up chemical waste disposal in your area. If you can't find one, call your garbage pickup service and ask them. Often you can take the whole bin and pay for them to be properly disposed of.

There’s usually a designated day where you can dispose hazardous items/chemicals in your community. I live in Kentucky and its usually the first Saturday of November. Get in touch with city officials

Hazardous material disposal can be difficult or easy depending on where you live. Start with your regular trash disposal company, local county administration, or similar organizations. Many places have drop-off sites that accept hazardous waste material and are open frequently. Here in Illinois there few options. Select regional sites are open regularly, but we do not live close to one of those regional sites. Many county environmental management departments coordinate with the state EPA and hold haz mat disposal events. Our county had not held one of these events for several years, but, by coincidence, they are having one today. We were able to give them material similar to what you showed for proper disposal. spray the sheds with bug spray like Home Defense from lowes. will help a lot with the bugs.

There were 2 white containers of bug spray in the items left by the previous owner. Use that to treat the sheds for insects.

Great outdoor projects! The 2nd shed really helped! When I power wash I put on one of those cheap rain ponchos and even put the hood up. I also put on a pair of safety glasses right over my real glasses. Between the poncho and glasses it really helps minimize how soaked you get. (I’m not big on water on my face so the extra glasses help a lot!) ❤

My county has a hazardous waste drop off. I go online, make an appt and drive through …they empty everything from your car. I would love to see a backyard makeover ! 😊

I believe if you're leaving the coolers inside you can leave them closed. If you're storing in the shed you should probably put them in a garbage bag to keep it dry from frost, etc.

with the coolers, if they are wet, flip them upside down to air out for a couple of days and then put the lid back on it and store it. as long as its dry when you put it away, the lid being closed keeps bugs and spiders out in between uses. :)

Our area has Hazardous Waste days where you can get rid of that stuff. I would enjoy outdoor re-do videos from you!

On the dinosaur, inflate it and spray it with a white vinegar, dawn dish detergent mixture (heavy on the vinegar). I would use microfiber to try and wash it too. Let the sun do part of the work and then finish by pressure/power washing. We saved tons of outdoor stuff by doing that.

We have several times a year where the city has mobile drive up chemical Recyling, which is great. So yes check with your city about that. Love the video!

Yes I'd love to see a backyard video & organizing! I guess I would ask people, neighbors etc if they would like any of the cleaning, spray paints supplies etc. Or just do what you said you were going to do! Yeah your deck, you should probably look on utube for a video on how to paint it. Or maybe asked at lowes or home depot maybe they have some ideas. Well I think you're did a good start at cleaning everything that was in the shed & put some of outside things, cleaned & put into the shed. I would definitely wait for those coolers to dry then put the lid on them & store them in the shed with lids on. I would think! You both did a great job! Thanks for sharing 👍♥️☺️🫂🎃🐈‍⬛🦇👻☠️💀🦃🐾

You gave us a little jewel when you said something like, "Put back the things you use the most, or are most important first. The other stuff that is not as important/used will sometimes take care of themselves" (badly paraphrased, but I think I have the idea). Eureka! That is kind of what I am doing as I declutter home stuff and clothes. Why didn't I think of it for garage/shed, stuff-I don't know?! Thanks!

You should have a local place to dump them. Google it in your area put in the type like paint oil etc. That's how I found where mine is in my area

Our city has a hazardous waste facility. You just make an appointment and drop everything off. Super easy.

❤omg. I so needed this. Yes please. I would love so outdoor videos. Our town has what is called a hazardous houhold waste section that we have to bring our items to. Yes inflatables get moldy. Try 50/50 bleach and water. I'd it doesn't come off I'd throw away. Coolers should cleaned thoroughly, dried and stored with the cover on. If you don't critters will build nest in them if you don't.

If you want to get rid of the chemicals put on a buy nothing group or Craigslist, that's what I did when the previous owner left them at our house! Even half used paint people picked up

You both did a good job looking a lot better if you power wash your walkways you will see a difference in the color because they do get dirty too OH just to let you know if you didn't know all ready if you have siding on your home do not power wash it it takes off the protective layer that also makes it look good instead wash it with a soft bristle brush and warm bleach water my man use to wash homes for people and he found that out

Most citys/towns have a hazardous waste depot where you can drop that stuff off for free and they will get rid of it properly for you. Like you said, just call city hall and ask them. Oh, and yes..I always leave my coolers open a bit. I have mine stored in my shed like you and I live in Canada where we get a lot of snow and the temperatures vary wildly so it's good to keep coolers cracked open. Hugs xoxo

ICE CHEST STORAGE: clean and dry well, then add a TBS of bleach to the bottom. Close lid tightly.

For the fertilizer and other chemicals for plants and big, etc. When I bought my old house I joined a buy and sell Facebook group for my area and offered the chemicals, the last owner left, for free. Mine were all gone within 2 days.

Girl I feel you. the people that owed our house before us left a ton of stuff behind and when we moved in the summer we did, we just threw stuff in to the spaces and said we will come back to this. My husbands schedule in the summers are insane and he works a lot of hours, but I need to add this to my list for this next summer, I need to just pull every single thing out and be very intentional about what goes back in and how its organized. My garage needs this too. LOL

Contact your county solid waste management department for how to safely dispose of chemicals. Here in Florida, we don't worry about rodents, it is the snakes that move into and under sheds. Shed doesn't get cleaned until the temp is below 65 degrees when snakes and insects are not a problem.

Wow I love your yard. Great work. I look forward to the transformation next summer. I know you’ll both do an awesome job. I had to remove everything around my house b/c somehow we got poison ivy. Next summer I will also be redoing the landscape. I love getting out in the spring and making the yard look good.

I found poison Ivy killer in the chemicals so I’m worried we will find some out there too when we really start working next spring! The former owners must know something we don’t

@@CatherineElaine That definitely may be an indication to a problem but I found out that birds and animals can carry it to your home. I’ve never had this problem before. Just keep an eye out for it.
