Hey Lexi! I'm currently reading the Historian right now (about 220 pages in) and I concur that I really think you're gonna love it. It has travel and some dark academic themes with an emphasis on studying, and the prose is beautiful

hi lexi! a note about once upon a broken heart- you should actually consider finishing the caraval series before reading as the prince of hearts is actually from the other two books in the series and it does contain spoilers for the end of the caraval series. that being said, i absolutely loved it- it’s probably my favorite book i’ve read so far this year :)

I must admit I own many of these and haven't gotten to them yet. But I did read The Strange Case of the Alchemist's Daughter and The Inheritance Games and loved them. Under The Whispering Door is one of my favorites for 2021. Enjoy all of your new books!

I just started back to work after a long medical leave a few months ago. I sold a lot of my books to help with bills and stuff. So excited to be able to afford books again. Several of these are on my wish list! My first purchase was If We Were Villains. I've started a FB group where my friends get to vote on which three books I'm going to read over the next month. Those will be my next purchases. So much fun.

You got two copies of Under the whispering door and The book depository canceled my pre-order of the same book. I can see the irony in this and sometimes I wish I lived English speaking country, so I could just walk to a bookstore and pick new releases from the book selves. I hope you love Under the whispering door because I haven't seen many other booktubers read the book. I also love cookies and my mother often called me cookie monster when I was a child 😄

You will love the Paola Santiago books and Pahua, they're awesome. I did the same thing as you with Under the Whispering Door, I absolutely loved House in the Cerulean Sea, became one of my favorites of all time, and heard about his new book. LOL, I loved the moss in the box too. Once I was down in San Diego visiting family and while I was there I needed to finish up an art project which required, you guessed it, moss. I had to go to Michael's and BUY a very expensive bag of moss and I was so annoyed because I live in Oregon and if I had been home I could have literally walked out my door and found more than enough moss without evening leaving my yard. As for Alice Hoffman's Practical Magic series, I've only read the first two but I suspect the best way to read them is not in historical order within the story but in order of publication.

The Prince of Hearts is part of the Caraval series so you may get spoilers for two of the Caraval books (which are really good, but much different from the first book). I would finish the series before reading Once Upon A Broken Heart.
