I think I used up all my luck on that one box hahah I'm very happy with this years series 1, the inserts are all much better than last years and I think the young guns look 🔥 this year!

I also think McDavid would have gotten calder had Manning not taken him out and broke his collar bone. McDavid was the only rookie scoring over a point per game at 1.06 and Panarin at .96p/g. It’s a shame Luongo never won vezina as he deserved to have won at least one.

The NHL card world operates a bit differently. The most success you will have is by opening SP Authentic. I just opened it in my last video. The set contains "Future Watch Autos" which are rookie auto cards out of /999. However, you won't be able to hit those massive 5k+ cards unless the rookie crop is strong that year. For example, Connor McDavid was a rookie in 2015-2016 and his card goes upwards around $15,000 at a PSA 10
The cup is the only trophy that really Matter! Both player play well last season it’s hard to tell who deserve mvp last season but they need to help the team to win the cup

The box in this video. Series 1 and 2 Young Guns are a staple of this hobby. You're not hunting for autographs, but depending on the player, a Young Guns pull can be just as valuable
I agree with lotsa stuff you are saying bro! Hated those old portraits. Love the photography and used to wonder why it all seemed to be only on the canvii. This year it's everywhere. That goal leaders clearcut is an absolute gem! So is the Boldy. As for the McDave MVP snub, I think it's because of the help. It's the most valuable guy to his team so people tend to look at what the team is like without the candidate. Draisaitl is such a good player that he makes McDavid look less valuable. I think he's way better than Matthews, but I think Matthews is better than the others on his team. More better. What is Toronto without him? Maybe worse than Edmonton without McDavid? That might have been the thinking.
The first box when you said it was a base pack one of them was a French variation. They are hard to see this series it’s in the bottom right of the card

breaks are fun. but, if you’re giving all that money to upper deck on over priced product in hopes of pulling something of potential value i too would suggest: 1. open the packs carefully rather than tearing into them. cards will have minor production defects but opening packs to roughly risks damaging edges and corners. 2. same as the other comment, sliding your cards over top one another can cause surface defects. in line with this, wear some gloves to avoid all those finger prints you’re leaving on the cards. 3. anything you pull, YGs or 1/1s etc. while wearing gloves should go from the pack immediately into a mylar sleeve at least. when i see what you’re doing i too see the risk of your potential psa gem mint 10 instantly turning into a 9. 4. holding multiple cards in your hand while examining something of interest you risk damaging edges and corners. watching your thumbs and palms pressing on those delicate parts of the card is tough to watch with my ocd 5. keep having fun. but also, check your base cards and inserts thoroughly for the possibility of it being an SP that you missed. compare them to pics of that card on ebay or wherever
Matthews scored 60 goals which is nearly impossible in todays NHL. I love McDavid no doubt most flashiest player in the world however he is pathetic on the defensive half of the ice and as much as he scores he and his team gives up in his own end of the ice where as Matthews plays the whole 185 feet. Just my opinion, I played and coached hockey most of my life and that's the stuff I notice so imo Matthews got what he deserved.
8:05 I have 1 word for you Rob, Toronto Maple Leafs. That is the only reason he beat out McJesus for the Hart. In terms of offensive talent, McJesus is head and shoulders above everyone else in the league. Every single time he's on the ice he is a threat.
I'm sorry what?!? The last time a Leaf won the Hart was 1954-55 by Ted Kennedy. Auston was not gifted the Hart because he was a Leaf. He did something that no other Leaf has done ever in a season and scored 60 goals. Don't get me wrong McDavid is the best player in the league bar none. But he's won a Hart and a scoring title before and will do it again this year. But when a player like Matthews has an all time record setting season for his franchise and himself it sets up nicely to be recognized for that season with awards. He earned his flowers last year and no one can take that away from him. McDavid will still get his, but voters are also looking to reward other players who have special seasons such as Matthews did last year.
@@deadlydadgaming126 Do what I do, switch teams. If McDavid was a Leaf, how often would he win the Hart? If Matthews was on Edmonton, would he have won it? Matthews is a really good player, but in my opinion, as long as he's in the league McDavid has to be the odds on favourite every year. He is this generation's Lemieux or Gretzky.
