I really enjoy taking the stuff apart and processing more than anything else I just finished a 600 amp main breaker tonight Siemens it’s like a puzzle you have to figure out,thanks for the content

I took apart 2 old tig welders, huge copper transfo's. 9€ sold as scrap, 80€ taken apart.

If you can get hold of some baby weighing scales they are super accurate for these small weights and good for 30-50lbs usually. Great for accurate weights on these small svale jobs.

Sometimes when you see what you may think is aluminum attached to copper, it is actually silver plated.

I would check the batteries on the scales. Sometimes when it’s low on battery, it doesn’t give a correct reading just a thought. Great video.

That higher end scale would be preferable to the scrapyard because it was off by more than 1/2 pound. that's where they make their money paying you less. This is exactly why I always weigh my scrap before taking to the scrapyard and question their scales if it's wrong. You should take your scale weights with you if they say their scales are calibrated so you can prove that they're not.

Perhaps, but those are certified scales at the yard, vs. your home bathroom scale or whatever, uncertified. Where or how far have u gotten, when contesting the weights? If it’s off by a 1/2lb, or even a pound, whats that trouble worth to you? Do you carry your scale in from the car every single time you unload, or do you bring it only when you see it being different from what you saw weighing it at home?

On fan motors, I use Cable Cutters to snip the copper windings on one side and pull it through on the other side

I did a old Marquette farm welder it was all copper transformers but besides that I have only had aluminum welders

Some really old tig welders have copper transformers just did one last month cleared 100plus lbs of copper out of it

I brought new welders recently. I paid a premium for fully copper wound transformers on my mig and stick machines there both 400 plus amp sets so I didn't want cheap light duty rubbish

It always helps to counter balance things with our fat asses. When it comes to small motors like the fan motor I just gut the middle of one side with my grinder or rotary tool
