The important part of the mana fluctuating means that serie is also suppressing her mana but no one else could notice that she is suppressing it which is crazy because of how huge her mana is while being suppressed
exactly, that was also my take on that. She has this aura around her almost as equal as Frieren, but she is STILL restraining it. WTF she is a monster!
I think that no one was able to notice the fluctuations in serie mana, not only because it is an huge pool of mana even tho she’s suppressing it, but also because she’s very good at suppressing it considering her age and experience...
Serie is a walking Tsundere and hypocrite and I'm here for it lol. She talks about a useless flower spell even though her most cherished student that's her favorite spell and the first spell she taught Flamme. Even I knew Frieren would say the flower spell is her favorite also. Also the fact she says that concealing mana and making the fluctuations so miniscule for no one to detect when in fact she, like Frieren and Fern, constantly do this. It's also as if she taught Flamme that too. Oh and not to mention that she says Human apprentices shouldn't be taken then literally asks Fern to be her student
One of my favorite things I'm noticing in this adaptation is how often we see Serie averting her eyes when confronted with a different stance on matters. Which is funny because in this ep Serie points out how Sense stays silent when things aren't going her way, it's basically a similar tell. And the fact that she remembers those kinds of details about her students at all despite putting up a front about only picking up these fleeting strays on a whim lol
not only that, she says she is disappointed and doesn't want human students but as it seems only had human students and remembers most pecular things about them additionally she said she doesn't want to follow Flammes wish but there she is doing it for over 50 years now
Frieren's full mana is Serie's suppressed mana. That's INSANE!. at first I didn't believe when they said Serie is the closest existence to the Goddess. I thought they're just hyping her up too much... but hell... After that reveal... I believe she is.
I think Serie's bias against Frieren is causing her to underestimate some of the test takers. Frieren was a huge help but her clone was an obstacle. I imagine Denken + Methode's group gets to the Spiegel earlier if it was someone else's clone guarding the room.
At the beginning of the episode, Fern didn't mention being Frieren's student due to the argument, but she confidently told Serie about it at the end. It was a nice moment of reconciliation.
some people say the 2nd test would've been easier if frieren isn't there but you also need to consider the 1st test. if frieren wasn't there. lawine and kanne will likely fail since frieren also destroyed the barrier for kanne. if lawine wasn't in the 2nd test. the test-takers wouldn't have the most important information that lawine has. they will all going to fail since they do not know what they're fighting and the information that the clones will gather at the bottom. that's the reason why the dungeon wasn't mapped or never been conquered until now. so serie was right that they all passed because of frieren.
Literally the biggest disappointment about this season is that it's ending. The next big arc is wonderful, sad we have to wait a year or two to get it :(
@@Pakkoyan let's just pray they give us a second season announcement during the exhibition which I'm going to in Tokyo. Madhouse made a lot of money from Frieren both in Manga sales and Blu-ray so they should have enough resources for season 2, I just pray they don't change the staff
I was amused by Leirnen admitting he'd be unable to challenge Frieren. I mean, what _could_ they do? "You will be fighting a ravenous, 70M tall, magic resistant, three-headed Mage Muncher. Only two of them have ever been killed in all of history." Frieren: "We got the first one when I found out they are susceptible to being hit on the heads in a certain sequence and to the beat of 'Turkey In The Straw.'" "Second one died when Heiter threw up on it. We were all sad about that."
He’s really just being humble by saying he isn’t qualified to overlook Frieren’s exam. He’s by far the strongest human mage we’ve seen yet and even Serie says that he could maybe win against Frieren.
In case you missed the detail, Serie's mana was fluctuating because she was supressing her mana, which is equal to Frieren's unsupressed mana, so Series unsupressed mana is gonna be bonkers. She mocks the mana supressing yet she does it, she mocks the flower field spell yet she loves flowers, she mocks human mages yet she takes them as apprentices. Such a conflicted character xD
Without Frieren... the girls wouldn't passed exam 1. Due to that barely anyone would pass test 2 because of one of the girls with the knowledge of Spiegle. Regardless majority of them passed because of Frieren when they don't actually deserve it... they got carried. Which is bad to be first class mage and would be killed in their first assignment. Serie looking out for humans in her own way.
I'm just wondering, since Serie is suppressing her mana, how powerful is she? The episode alludes to her supressed power being Frieren's released power. Crazy stuff
In terms of adventure anime & manga, this is up there with the best. There's seinen series like Berserk, Vagabond, Vinland Saga, JoJo part 7 & 8 but this series I get more of Made in Abyss, FMAB, Hunter x Hunter type of adventure anime and at the level of those series. Amazing and like the ones mentioned before it's a 10/10 easily
My take on Serie's reaction to Fern is like her finally seeing another Flamme again... Like for me that was a genuine smile she gave and probably will do anything just to mentor her even though she knows that Fern will reject the offer. She's like a grandma who mistook another person's grandchild as her own LMAO... Real sad that next week will be the last episode of this season :(
If we to compare how Frieran's mana is while suppressed and while released... the fact that Serie's man is that big means she's a complete monstrosity of a mage here mana would have to be at least 5x greater than that of Fieren's
don't know why fern was the basis of "the era of humans have arrived" when there are already strong humans before like himmel, heiter, lernen, and flamme. Not to mention the character hero of the south which frieren mentioned before to be mankind's strongest. So the era of humans should've started a long time ago. Or the era of humans means when humans start to see the fluctuation of serie's mana?
Then we saw Himmel telling Frieren about his favorite flower the blue moon weed. And Himmenl knowing what the lotus flower means. My mans was enchanted.
Broo dont tell me you missed the signifance of the mana fluctuation? Serie also supressed her powers. And Serie’s supressed mana is almost equal to Frieren’s full mana.
I think there's only one more to go, which is surprising to me as I expected this one to be the final Ep. of the season. Personally, I'm just happy that the series got adapted as well as it did. So many great manga out there that don't get adapted this well, even with Slime they dropped the ball with the pacing in it's last 3rd/4th of it's first season due to behind the scenes foolishness.
Serie has a more wider mana even though she controlled it compared to Frieren's mana release! Imagine how much mana Serie is holding back from her arsenal! It's kinda scary tbh. I saw it more clearly when watching the anime that's why Anime is better sometimes
Cool, you get that Serie may not know and just assumed that Frieren was an unfair asset. Kudos. This tale uses (limited) character knowledge right. And sometimes they simply lie 😅.
U missed so many import. points : like Seren supressed her mana , even Lernen missed this after 50 years... 19 y old Fern see it, and this all mean Seren have same supr. mana as Frieren have unsupr... How much mana have Seren ????? Dude... thumbs down...
and others... Seren touched flowers in conversetion with Fern, becose after all BS what she said about Flowers field spell and Flame, she is missing Flame and she can understand Flame, Frieren , .. Fren... Now she found new talented girl as Flame...
Sere feela like she should be the villain in a shonen. Always looking for the strongest, the most talented. It seems like she doesnt care about feelings, friends or community. She sees mages as tools and as potential. Its that lonely at the top mentality and i think frieren bothers her because frieren is as strong as she is but is surrounded by companions and friends.
Serie is much stronger than Frieren. That mage didn't recognize her fluctuations (from suppression he couldn't detect), which means she is suppressing A LOT of mana. lol
@@kevinganchero2104 "Obsessed with powerscaling" tf? I just made a comment on that part to say they aren't equal in power based on what's implied in the episode in case they missed it. That's doesn't mean being obsessed with powerscaling, or I missed all that they said. Get off your random high horse. 🤣 Ironically, you could have provided commentary on their comment to say something worthwhile for a reply to them while you were focused on mine (which you deem unnecessary), but you didn't and provided nothing of value to the discussion. 🤷♀️
Serie suffers from the same narcissistic behavior due to long life that frieren suffered from I think it’s an elf thing and now frieren is trying to break that behavior and create a more fruitful relationship with fern and stark and others. I don’t think serie is entirely mean shes just headset of different priorities she’s just that person who’s very hard to please in what she expects or wants to see from others given that she wants to see magic reach great heights because the demon race is still at large it’s this very concept that pushes the evolution of magic which is why serie can very much defeat the demon king but she can’t see herself doing it because that would more than likely impact the drive for development of new magic in the world.
