Yes I agree! Wow the prices there are soooo much better than 3 Bears. It's worth just dedicating a day to Anchorage. Probably saves hundreds $.... Thanks for watching!
Thank you!!! It was very tasty. Much better and thicker than the canned enchilada sauce for sure....will make again. Hopefully with some moose meat this fall!
Well thank you they actually turned out quite tasty!! Love the affordable price for a decent meal too...wow food prices are really increasing. Hoping for a larger garden this year too! We just got our greenhouse plastic and we will do a video on that soon... The snow is melting here which is exciting!
Nice... I wish Costco was not 2 hours away but it's worth it for us. Maybe one day they will have a Costco closer to us. It is a beautiful scenic drive though to Anchorage. We will be putting up our greenhouse plastic soon, very excited!
Yeah! Welcome! There is another video coming out this Friday/ Saturday on our small local grocery prices$ and a tour of our rural town here in Alaska...😊
Oh man, we used to get to our cabin the same way. Except we had to bring the snow machine across the frozen river to get to our place. Your sled is awesome, wish we had a big one like that. Anyways your dinner looked delish, 🌷🇨🇦
Thank you! Love that sled... Across the river? Wow that is more extreme than us... Whew. Glad for the road system for sure. Especially because we still need to generate income. Thanks for watching 😊
Oh my you can totally relate! Yes I am quite sick of my paper towels, fruit, basically everything having mud or water sprayed on it. Then up here you pay a pretty price too. To see some stuff get ruined just because of the situation is definitely frustrating! Lol. But we do love our freedom on the plus side. It's a double edged sword for sure. Sure you can relate there too
@@Alaskan6pack we ended up using Rubbermaid totes with lids for our stuff in boxes or paper wrapping, it sure helped especially during the summer months when the sky would open up half way across the river. Awww it’s a good life though and I wouldn’t ever go back to the city. Sure enjoying your channel, have a wonderful day
Yeah! Yes we love love Costco... it is fun to shop there. However you must stick to the list or you can end up spending way too much!!! Lol Thanks for watching, there will be more Costco trips in the summer we will film
They are pretty good...We use black beans too. We try to stick to Organic if possible. I would love to make that dish with moose meat, fresh corn off the cob and homemade refried beans...now we are talking! Maybe in the fall. Thanks for watching!
Hello there!!! Well thank you for supporting us!! No grocery taxes.. yet. We also get a PFD every year here it's usually about 1-2K each. We take that and prepay our property payments. Try not to spend it on silly things. By far Anchorage Costco has the best deals but as you can see, it's 2 hours each way for us. Plus my van has almost 300K miles on it. So once a month is about all we can do at this point.... Hopefully down the road I can afford a better 4 wheel drive vehicle. I am getting too old for the leapfrog vehicle game! Lol
Tell me. Do you just leave your car out there in the bush unattended or do you somehow bring it in to camp. . where i come from you wont do that. you wont have no car in the morning
I understand that...very true. We leave it behind near where a neighbor is. It's definitely risky but so far so good. I really just need to get a 4 wheel drive car and retire the van honestly. It has almost 300K miles Finances are not quite there just yet...but we are hoping I can upgrade. Soon hopefully!
I am sure you are right. I feel like nothing is really " organic " anymore. The food is getting contaminated from air, water, soil, etc... it's so sad... we try our best in our greenhouse to protect the food from air pollution. I understand what you mean!...
