Massive waves batter coast of California, experts warn worst is yet to come

High surf and strong winds prompted warnings Saturday across the California coastline as another bout of extreme surf and heavy showers were forecasted for the weekend.
Much of the California shoreline is under a coastal flood warning, from San Diego to the San Francisco Bay area, with waves expected to reach up to 12 metres in some areas.
The treacherous surf is attributed to a Pacific storm system, which also brought heavy downpours across much of the West Coast on Friday.

You know that storms that happen now are more likely to be more severe and more frequent, right? Eg. The odds that an Atlantic Hurricane reaches maximum strength is 260x more likely today than it was 40 years ago. I hope that you just aren’t aware. Yes, storms have always been a thing. But the frequency and severity has rapidly increased in the last 2 decades. Heck... Shell Oil put out their own video report in the early 90's predicting all of this if we kept using fossil fuels. Even they know this isn't normal.
