Thank you so much for showing me how the air brush works. I just got mine and I feel now like I won’t break it or misuse. I love understanding how things work.
Thanks! I brought this on amazon 2016. I never used it till now. I am glad I watched your review as it showed me many things about adjusting this airbrush.
I hate to point this out but the needle guard (aka the very tip) does not change the spray pattern for things like primer and base coat. It simply protects the needle from being bumped if you're too close to the surface you're painting.
Great vid. I use a cheap airbrush also....I am new to airbrushing....everybody says I need a more expensive one. This is the first beginner vid that showed how to clean and strip and dial in. Thanks, as a newbie, and as a beginning cult player, you are most helpful.
Thank you kindly, Macdonal Robinson - glad to help. I'd definitely love a nice airbrush someday but I just think a lot of people get "put off" airbrushing because of the price barrier to entry and I think someone new to the hobby is better off with one of these than not airbrushing at all. The folks that work on films do crazy things with cheap airbrushes like the Paashe H Series and here on RU-vid people like Awaken Realms get amazing results with cheapo brushes -- in one video the painter there even said he only uses the cheapest airbrushes he can find. Again, I'm sure he'd love a nice airbrush too but he does a great job with what he has (in my opinion).
I just bought a master g233 & a master g344, I heard about of good reviews from people who know how to airbrush so I'm giving them a shot first. Thanks for breaking down how to find tune the gun to maximize the the efficiency of it.
So excited, I just bought this set because it's the only one I could afford (it came with a siphon feed and beginner airbrush as well). I'm new to this, I hope all turns out well. I will turn to this video if/when I need to. Thank you!!
You are very welcome and if you ever have any questions I'll help if I can. My trusty master brush finally died recently after several years of use. I dropped it filming a tutorial and now the button sticks :( I'll probably just get another one though, seeing as the last one did so well for me. Anyways! Good luck with your new journey! Keep in touch and let me know how you are doing.
Yes I’ve bought a kit from amazon and it has 3- different master airbrushes, and the hose and compressor, I think it has this particular airbrush model in it, I know that there are 3, but I think they are decent quality, but haven’t tried any yet, hopefully everything goes smoothly, I appreciate your video✌🏻
The spring from a push pen works insane awsome in this same style air brush. Super springy and can be stretched out a bit to achieve the stiffness a person wants.
Thanks for this. Your level of detail and in-depth explanation was exactly what I needed. Vid was a good length - appropriate, for the amount of data you shared. Question: my G22 has a pair of opposing on the back cover piece that allows me to adjust the tension spring nut without having to remove the cover. In your experience, is this for people who prefer to adjust on the fly?, because I can't imagine a need for it based either on technique or media. We're they just being fancy? Did I miss a big airbrush feature?
I really enjoyed your breakdown of the G22 I have the G23 I have just started getting into airbrushing... I am only using acrylic paints(Createx) still playing with the mix 50/50 for thinning too? Thanks again Merry Christmas!
Thank you so much for the info! I was just talking to my brother the night before and your video popped up in my recommended, now what i will be picking up! Do you have recommendations on paints? Or will you be doing more talks on painting in the near future?
I have this airbrush and an Iwata Neo, and this is my go to airbrush, it works great but reseating the trigger is a pain in the butt when I have to break it down to clean it, does anyone have a trick on putting it back in without throwing the closest model against the wall?, thanks for the tip about adjusting the spray pattern- going to give it a try!
I just received one of these from scamazon yesterday. It looks and feel hefty, better than it being to light imo. Only thing i've noticed is my trigger has a lot of side to side play and feels a little to tight, maybe it needs lubed?. I'll pull it apart later today and see what going on. But i suspect its where the trigger and tiny brass plunger is pinned together making it wobbly. Ive owned a few very expensive airbrushes in the past and they too can have the same problems. these days they're prob all made in china. FR. I'll put to the test later today!
Take the tube off the back, inside is a nut mechanism you can tighten. It’s the part you can loosen to disassemble the brush. I’ve found the tighter you have that, the stiffer the trigger gets. I hope that helps!
Communist Tyranid YES I WILL! I have so many plans in the pipeline for this channel, including two small "kill team" style squads of different 40k races all hybridized up -- but all will be forced to wait if these guys drop before I get to their conversions!
It's ok. But like he said, buy it from Amazon because the quality control is hit or miss. When I first received mine it wasn't even spraying water properly. I took it apart and polished the needle and lubed it with blade oil. Now it works pretty well. However the trigger action isn't the greatest. Also, if you do purchase this airbrush, I'd recommend getting the G25 as well. The needle in the G22 is 0.5 mm, which is ok for base coats and primers, but quite large for any shading and pre-shading effects that you'll want when painting gunpla and smaller model kits.
@@Johnnybomb1 cool, since i posted the comment i went ahead and bought the bundle on amazon with the compressor and airbrush with a separate G23 airbrush and ive been doing great so far. im gonna be putting away some cash to get a higher quality brush soon
@@joseruiz-agosto3115 Actually. I was wrong about something. The G22 has a 0.35 mm needle. Oh, and that air compressor is more than enough to get started. Once you have enough money for a better airbrush, I would recommend a GSI Creos Mr.Procon Boy 0.2mm. It's branded by Mr. hobby but actually manufactured by Iwata. Not too expensive either, around 130-140 USD.
