This is a brief review of Master's T-20 1/5 HP Compressor that comes with the Master Airbrush G22 Kit. To be frank, the compressor instructions are not very informative and so we put this video together to help some with setting it up, and the general operation of the compressor.
The Compressor is also factory preset at 57psi, which is way too high for most model airbrushing, so we show how to adjust the pressure. We also discuss some other features of operating the compressor.
Here's a link to the product on Amazon to check if you you are unsure:

This kit is made by TCP products.

If anyone is having trouble adjusting the pressure of their tank have a watch around 4:37. There's a locking mechanism that you may need to pull up on to unlock the mechanism and adjust the pressure easily(mine came locked). This video was fantastic and super helpful. Thank you so much!

Can't believe I just found this video. I thought my adjustment knob was broken! After watching I realized I had to hold the trigger down then adjust!!!!! The manufacturers replied garbage! Thank you!!!

I received this exact same kit yesterday and was looking at it today. You are right. The instruction 'manual' isn't much of one. I figured out everything fairly well because I have a Paasche airbrush and a pancake compressor. My pancake compressor though makes too much noise and I wanted something quieter to use in my painting room. The Masters compressor IS quiet. My Masters compressor was already assembled when it arrived. I wish the hose was longer though. My way of cleaning an airbrush is to use an empty milk jug or tea jug cleaned out. Fill up the paint cup with either airbrush cleaner or water and spray it out into the jug until the fluid runs clear. I never cleaned my airbrush out completely until after I was finished for the day though. Then you just take it apart and use a small brush and clean everything. Airbrush parts like brushes and other items are fairly reasonable.

Great review. Really informative as other reviews don't go into detail about how to actually operate the compressor. Also good tip on the regulator orientation. I have this coming in the mail and will definitely keep these tips in mind

Very helpful, thank you. My valve assembly is a little cockeyed, but not enough to where it impacts performance, plus it’s tilted in a way that makes me see the gauge better, so I just might leave it but we shall see.

Thank you so much for this video! I work with alcohol inks and needed a higher pressure air compressor so I got this one. You’re definitely right about the instructions not being helpful. Now that I have everything adjusted I’m ready to create - thanks to you!

My compressor is brand new and set to 40psi. When I spray it drops to 15psi. No matter how I adjust the pressure nob, nothing happens to the pressure. I do note however, when the air compressor is turned off, the pressure immediately drops to zero. Can anyone make suggestions to help solve this? TIA

Thank you soooooo much for this how-to video. The printed instructions, if that is what you could call them, were useless! I could really use a how-to video on attaching the hopper and actually using this thing now... lol

Thank you sooo much, you have no idea how much this helped me. I’ve been so frustrated for the past hour. After setting my air pressure, the compressor comes on for like 1 sec & shuts off when I’m not releasing air. Is that normal? It happens every minute or so :/

Thanks for this video. Great, in depth, well done. I want to use this with an air eraser (mini sandblaster pen). Do you think it would be adequate pressure and work for that purpose?
@ZBorGaming
@ZBorGaming 3 года назад
It may, I think it would depend on the pressure you want to spray at.
@herbfellows6435
@herbfellows6435 3 года назад
@@ZBorGaming I tried it finally. I am using it to etch glass, by the way. It will go to 60, when I press the air gun button, it drops to about 45 for actual working pressure. It does work, but not very well, I have to keep going over areas and it comes out spotty. I guess I'll try to adjust it to 75 (not even sure that is possible?) and hope it gives me 60 working pressure. As you say, the 'book' is worthless, so everything is an experiment.

I just got one. And I'm having a problem. I turn it on and it will run for a few seconds and then shut off, regardless of the pressure level the pressure regulator is set. And when it shuts off, I can watch the pressure drop. My hose is tight at the compressor and the airbrush. Has anyone had this problem? Were you able to fix it?

If the fittings have tapered threads they do not have to tightened till they bottom out, use good Teflon thread tape, tighten till snug and are correctly orientated , test for air leaks with a little soapy water on the outside of the fittings, if bubbles appear tighten one turn and re-test, repeat until no leak, never over tighten. Always remember you get what you pay for, it might take more work and adjustments on a cheep item than an already assembled factory tested item, make the adjustment yourself and save money or pay more for someone else to do it. Don’t complain if your Fiat doesn’t drive like a Ferrari.

Just received my airbrush/compressor and having absolutely no luck with it. Cannot seem to adjust the amount of pressure. Only place there's any air is the water reservation being released. You have given great information, as others say. I tried your way of adjusting the regulator but the knob seems to spin doing nothing - even adjusting it while holding the airbrush on. Any hints???? Or it will be going back :( Thanks!

This is happening to me as well. Did you ever figure it out?
@lyndaj2759
@lyndaj2759 2 года назад
@@LynetteManning I ended up having to return unit, which was replaced with one that works. If you press the little slide knob, it should make noise - and that's when you can adjust the pressure. It's been a while since I did this and who can remember that far back. It may totally be a defective unit though. Good luck

You have to pull up on the regulator knob, then turn to adjust pressure and then push it back down to maintain the pressure you set
@zydrunasjatautas3476

Compressor has no air tank. So on off regulation is by elektronic pressure relay before reductor. Its does not meter what pressure you set by reductor.

@@waterholics-art t Thank you for your quick response. Hmmmm. Also I can’t adjust it to more than around 25psi. I’m thinking I should return it. I got it so I could use it at around 40psi for some of my artwork...
