Happened before with the BLF under Normie Gallagher, luckily back then other Unions existed to take up the shortfall. BWIU, AMWU and others that weren't as tyrranical. I had a BWIU ticket and my arrival at a BLF site caused them to stop work for two days. Back then if I went to an Amwu site, I just had to fill out some paper work and I was fine. CFMEU are way too militant just as the BLF was. Big changes are needed.

Ok after this BS is dealt with the next thing is REVIEWING the wages on construnction personnel!!!! 100k plus for traffic control is ridiculous! And every project gets blown out. You set a price as a tender and thats what is will cost if it goes over CONRRACTOR PAYS. Pay your ppl less! There is plenty of people that do the job at lower rates 70k or so is a good wage!
it's because nothing ever gets done because of the CFMEU, they close the site down for whatever reason they can make up, whether it's to hot to work or they just want to have another bullshit rally to be seen to be doing the right thing by the worker, worked on EBA union sites & can easily say they'd be lucky to get 4 full days of work out of any crew due to them stopping the job constantly. Yes our jobs can be dangerous, yes we deserve safe work conditions and fair pay, but the CFMEU also make it impossible to do your job properly, the only people who make it & stay on CFMEU sites are the bludgers
I have friends here in Tasmania who build large developments, that when they put in a quote they add 30% to cover the unions bad behaviour and sadly knowing that this is ruining construction Australia wide.
We have the same situation in qld you only get approval for any government or large developments ie the casino if you have the cfmeu running the construction then they demand extreme remuneration take huge fees then donate millions to labour government
I’m in qld construction, what do the CFMEU get up here? Is it the same as Vic? What actually goes on cos I’m hearing a lot of allegations but no proof as yet
