Me too! For me, this is totally the best outcome for this season. Also, this half hour chat between the three, without throwing shade, was some of the best InkMaster ever. They could do this every year and can the overblown finale and I'd be a happy camper

Well said! I hope the producers *learn* from this and realize that the fans prefer respect over orchestrated trash talk. It's very refreshing and mature. These 3 finalists showed their inner warriors.

I agree. I don't mind the trash talk, but it's refreshing to see that the artists don't always have to be the angry yelling psychopaths all the time. Hearing about their time off camera was also really cool. The producers need to switch it up from time to time and show that the competitors can be friends across teams and let the good sportsmanship show.

This show is better without the fake drama and fake fighting, I would like to think true artists would always support and learn from each other.

Yes! Seriously, I have watched every episode of Inkmaster and I fast forward through each finale. The finale is always the worst episode. They drag out the recaps and rehash drama way too much and we dont get to see the final tattoo, or discuss them much at all. This video is 100x better than any finale.

I liked getting to hear from them this way too and the live finales are usually too long and annoying this would have been better if they could have been judged and we got to have a winner but I agree that it was fun.

The finale always seemed rushed and you barely get to see the tattoos.

Should change it to a 30 minute finale followed by a 30 minute reunion

I prefer the big spectacle and grandeur and getting the judges opinions and actually crowning an ink master

I've been looking trying to find out if they split it or each recieved the whole thing..I feel like they all shoukd have gotten the 100 grand cuz that's what they all came there to compete for. I feel like 16 weeks away from your life is worth 100 grand but idk if all that work was worth $33,000

​@@thegunshowguy $300K when they budget $100K for a prize is steep, but television execs are known for their great generosity... lol. I wouldn't be surprised if they each got something like $50K, though. Also, the money that they make from exposure and being able to charge more for their work because of their "celebrity" status and mainstream advertisement is important. Each artist probably raised their rate by $50 to $100 per hour.

I was getting Evangelion vibes for sure! You can tell how much that show really inspires him! In earlier episodes they showed some of his past work and he dead on had a badass EVA Unit 1 piece!

Unfortunately, it's American reality TV and the producers get the show chopped up in such a way that it looks like all the artists hate each other. I've read and watched interviews of previous contestants and that's the general vibe that gets put out. If an artist doesn't like another artist's personality, they'll still praise their art.

Jimmy is such an amazing person, I ran into him & he was such a wonderfully talented guy. One of the best "celebrity" encounters I've ever had. I agree that this finale was one of the absolute best!! All three of them displayed such great sportsmanship during this finale~

I liked the idea behind it and the different elements he merged (the sacred heart flames surrounding the witch) but I really didn't care for the image itself. I never really like american traditional much. Also, I thought he asked for traditional with an expanded color palette but he seemed to only use the same 5 colors throughout (brown, green, red, black, and yellow). Maybe I missed something...

Jeanna Whittick that’s not a good idea. Grudge Match is very scripted and uninteresting. If anything, they need to make a season where bob angel and jimmy are coaches, basically just like Season 10, but we can see who will emerge as season 13 ink master once and for all

I wouldn't mind seeing them compete again. Doesn't have to be a grudge match. Just an extra show this next season, with a money prize for the winner. If that's not gonna happen? They would each make a great guest judge on one of the episodes. Or, three coaches as well.

They already did a grudge match though between angel and Jimmy

What drives me crazy about the finale is that it seems like chaos, (loud & not focused in). Maybe it’s because I’m older but, it gives me a headache & I’d like to get a really good, up close look at the work.

I also just finished season 13, I noticed it was released in March of 2020 when I started the last episode I wasn't sure how they were going to do a finale knowing Covid really kicked in around that time, but I'm more than satisfied with this wholesome walk through of these master canvases. They all did such a great job, I'm glad they all won in a way.

I just finished the season myself and apparently you and I are in the same boat. By the end of the season I thought Angel was gonna win just because she seemed so good and learning new styles. But after watching this and seeing their big pieces I agree that all three of them were worthy of winning. Those pieces were pretty amazing. I thought Bob was the weakest going into this but I was very impressed by the thought he put into his tattoos. Cheers!

He didn't fill in the flower on the bottom left of his one piece but overall, his were memorizing. That ladies hood and finger nails alone are epic. The only thing I saw that was a huge error was angels top hand on that sword. There's no way the human hand would bend that way but hers was my second favorite in black and grey. Simply amazing artist and it was so nice watching all the competitors be chill most of the season and not complain about going home every episode.

I partially agree. Bottom-line is crowning a 2020 champion. There shouldn't be an asterisk where the champion should be. Or pay them each 100k, crown them co-winners, and finally give each a spread in the mag.

I couldn't help being pissed yesterday. I was thinking it was just over with no finale show. And, no look at the artist's final pieces. I wasn't even sure the three of them had done final pieces. It's all been cleared up tonight with a great RU-vid show. I enjoyed every minute of it.

Oliver peck recently got into some trouble for old myspace pics. That could have played into them not picking a winner. as it happened in between the end of filming and the finale. So not having to bring him back on for the finale was best for publicity

Just watched it - it was amazing to hear the 3 of them talk in depth about the pieces, more than the finalists ever have in any other finale. There was such a sense of camaraderie as well. I think if the judges had given a verdict, they would have all loved the solid black in Jimmy's back piece, and Chris probably would have called out Bob's slightly janky wing on his harpy 🤪 I do wish we could've seen Bob's and Angel's American traditional drawings though. I also love all the style and subject choices. Better than the series where someone had to do an underwater scene with no fish or animals!? Or where Kelly Doty was voted 3rd and we didn't even get to see her finale piece!? Didn't know that something was up with Oli, awks 😬

I put that out there months ago you have chris clean dave and dj as judges then you bring back winners on every few weeks come on to be guest judges and masters of the craft as the other set of judges. 5 judges total every week take the pieces to 6 hours and have more head to heads. Itd be epic.

Next season they could put these 3 in the finale to do a live tattoo

Good point. As the numbers dwindled, I thought there wasn't a clear front runner as there had been in seasons past (whether those front-runners won it all, or not). Putting the completionist in me aside, this was the season for such an ending to happen.

Katie Gordon Oliver is done with the show so they probably scrapped the idea knowing it wouldn’t make any money since it’s not live.

What did you think about her boobs? I loved the overall tattoo but felt like they spoilt it. Boobs are great but they just didn't look attractive at all. Looked like a really bad bolt-on boob of a porn star. Nothing against big boobs but the shape was just totally off. Shame cause the application and overall flow with the body was gorgeous.

jbonegw I mean you’re not wrong at all. Been riding with I.M since season 1 and there have definitely been better artists on there I mean even within the American traditional Tiffer Wright put out that crazy bear piece a few seasons back for his master canvas

They should've done a season one and just had the finale in the judging room, at least then there would be some satisfaction and closure to this season!

See bobs chest piece was my least favorite out of the 6 I just didn’t care for the colors

The weird skin contours on Bob's piece were a bit off putting to me for some reason, can't put my finger on why, but it flowed with the body very well, so he wins on composition for me, but the artistry in Jimmy's chest piece really blew me away.

Christopher Hills same tbh. Most of the fans have an overall same feeling about their choice to not name a winner. It seems completely stupid that they couldn’t have just named a winner some how. There were definitely ways to do so too. Based on the tattoos alone I think Angel would have won. Which makes me sad because she could have been the 3rd female ink master.

Most of his tattoos throughout the season were mostly american traditional - he is not as versatile as the other 2 finalists for sure.

nichola davies i felt like that w/ Kelly when the show first started. Then i saw him improve. To me he was like bob - someone with potential to get to the finale. I liked bob’s work but imo he should of been kicked for when he did that dam tattoo that def didn’t look like the dam. I wish frank would of been in the finale but he screwed up too. I wonder who they will get to replace Oliver. They need an HONEST judge that’s for sure.

nichola davies Anthony was good but he didn’t always finish tattoos yet he became ink master. There’s another African American guy i can’t remember his name but i think it was Carl - i remember he was from PA i think. Really amazing artist - never became ink master but always got to the top 4-5 before he got eliminated. I remember he specialized in black and gray and he was really good at it. I just hope whoever they bring isn’t an asshole. I can’t do another season w/ Cleen - i couldn’t even watch the series he and the others were on. I like him but I’ve had my fill lol. I would really love it if they brought on Joe Capobianco as he use to be a judge on Best Ink which was like Ink Master cept more art and less drama. Joe was a damn good and honest judge. Ink master needs Joe Cap but seeing as this show is more drama/ratings i have a feeling they will bring on someone like Cleen idk. I think it would be interesting if they brought on Kyle Dunbar lol - remember him almost getting into it w/ Nunez lol..

I think Kelly didn't make it because he wasn't a judge or crowd favorite. When you look at the way the show was edited, you barely see him at all throughout the season. I didn't sense that they thought he was interesting enough to warrant much screen time. They were rooting for Angel and Jimmy I think because they were series veterans. Even the reasoning behind picking Angel over Kelly because supposedly Kelly didn't meet the ask of having it morph was nuts. Angel was given realism and she didn't meet the ask with that forest that looked like a muddy painting. And I know I can't do any of it myself but that's just my opinion.
