Was stuck at 600 elo for like a month or two, legitimately binge watched every single one of these videos, stopped playing as much blitz, and sat down and brought myself up to 900 elo in one grind session thanks to these videos. Please keep making these!! Enjoy my dinner to these every night
11:46 Mate in 2 after Queen cut d7 Rook is something magical to a 1500 player like me. I cant believe I'm getting this high quality contents for free. IMO free chess lesson from above 3000 rated player is like winning a lottery. Thanks a lot Danya.
the contrast between Danya in the first and the second game is a bit funny but for me it's impressive how swiftly he adjusts the level of his explanations
Yeah, he really changed the way he was explaining the game, from explaining his moves to intermidate level players to basically assuming that his viewers don't even know how pieces move.
Sign of a great streamer that he is catering to his audience on the fly! And let's be honest, those of us that have been following and know the basics all completely understand that he's talking to the huge raid, and it's fun to watch! He's trying to get more viewers all the time and he deserves them.
@@ryanbran285 What a great comment. Couldn't have said it better. I see chess as a thing you have every right to get excited of. And even better, when you get free lessons from the Prophet himself. Danya is such a great teacher.
35:00 a very magical moment. So happy Danya is getting the love he deserves. Big shoutout to dikaio and all the generous ppl who donate to help him grow!!!
I'm such an impatient player, I would lose my mind playing Danya and being on move four after six minutes. Then I would rage when he dismantles me in a few minutes after running down the clock. It is what it is.
Youd hate to play against me lol. Im so hyperfocused on looking at tactics but I suck at finding them so I usually end up loosing on time even with 10 minute games
@@chrisbeaudoin9818 I need should start with puzzles tho to help pattern regocnition. I doubt longer games help since many people quit against me with 10 minute games because I take too long. Thats why I tend to play bots and do few free puzzles so I can work on my game, since having people resign inflates the elo amd I get way too tough opponents
@@unuseableb don't play bots, it won't help you much. If you like doing puzzles do them on lichess cause they are unlimited. Keep playing longer time controls regardless of if your opponent resigns. Lichess has classical 30+0 and if your opponent resigns then it's a clean win for you. As your rating gets higher people won't resign over dumb shit like someone using all their time when they are playing a longer time control (that's literally the point of long times). Just wondering, what's your elo?
Got into the Rossolimo a bit after the Carlson-Caruana WC match. There’s a great collection of Igor Glek’s Rossolimo games on Chessgames, in case anyone wants to explore it in more depth. Thanks for this, Daniel! Great stuff as always!
@@MrMannnMannn That's completely wrong, sweaty means trying so hard you start to sweat. If Daniel was sweating he wouldn't even explain his moves and just actually speedrun the series in a few hours like Hikaru's speedruns
We are getting lessons from the greatest chess teacher I have ever seen. You explain things in ways no one else does and it helps us all so much. Thank you for everything Danya, for being an amazing teacher and an amazing guy too ❤
In every game he plays there are several of these good looking moves which are terrible. If you have just gotten into chess and you watch GMs play chess it may look easy to you but in reality there were dozens of opportunities to make a blunder in each and every game.
I am playing in a tournament tomorrow and I know many strong players which play the sveshnekov which is slightly annoying, so I came and watched this video. This is so informative and Daniel explains every move so clearly. Keep up the great work!
Chess Network got me too 1500, Daniel has gotten me to 1700. I'm excited to see if the Vienna Gambit can get me too 1800-1900. Either way thanks Daniel!
Similar here. How's it going now? It's funny I got so accustomed to how Jerry moves, now Danya's moves often catch me off guard. I keep noticing "That's not what Jerry would do" and I come to the sober conclusion that No, it's certainly not. This is tactics with some position mixed in, rather than the other way round...
Closer to 200k now. The grind may be slow but there is so much here that I'm happy that you will always have youtube money even after your pro career. Happy because we will have infinitely more content hopefully and maybe I can get to 1800 when I'm 60 :D
day 19 of saying you're the awesomest daniel. I so so love your content. You're not only one of the greatest chess instructors of all time, but your twitch channel is so worth watching. Thank you.
i am a musician and you have the same analogy in music theory. you learn stuff that are tried and true that is sort of like rules to make music but when you get more experienced to break those rules to make some thing better
It is incredibly satisfying watching him play chess. For a brief moment the vicarious experience makes me feel as if I'm the one making all the right moves and winning...until I go off to play my own game. Like watching Steph Curry my 3 pointers just don't fall in the same way.
I'm a horrible chess player. But I really enjoy learning about how a really good chess player thinks. These explanations during the games are as interesting as it gets for me! I must admit I get a bit lost after the games with the lengthier analysis, but the in game thinking out loud stuff is just fantastic! Thanks!
On move three, following Bishop to B5 by white, does black have any advantages from playing Queen to C7 instead? To protect the knight without damaging the pawn structure?
Nice game ! d5 the hill Billy all day long. Vienna gambit, slightly better version of Kings gambit. The Moscow variation of the Sicilian for white would be a great follow up to this one. Please play it Danya... Also a gambit variation with the black Queen coming out early is interesting. I won a game with whites early castling line. 1-0
Hey Danya! I had a question. You often talk about the french and how it is dubious at the highest levels of chess due to the fact that it buries the light squared bishop. Does that translate into at the high levels not translate to the QGD or Semi Slav? If so why or why not? Is it because e4 itself is a light square while d4 isn't? If Danya or anyone good at positional chess or opening theory could answer this, it would be greatly appreciated
The semislav and QGD often result in white trading on d5, allowing for the e pawn to take and the LSB to open up. These systems also result in slower, more maneuvering games, which allows for more flexible development. In the French, black is typically the one taking on e4, which doesn’t move black’s e pawn to allow the LSB freedom. Fianchettoing the LSB is also a significantly better idea in d4 positions than e4 positions, not to mention that moving the b pawn in the french in order to fianchetto is extremely weakening.
It is so funny how we all learn to move along the lines of opening principles : first knights, then bishops. Don't move the same piece twice in opening, keep the bishop, not the knight... And then come the GMs and everything is different:)
After black takes queen on e5, Nf7 forks king and queen. Had to stop and think about it too. Knight will continue to threaten pawns from e5 such as the c6 pawn
