formula for work, time, distance in case of Train problems is wrong! Opposite direction the speeds get added, but in the formulae it is written as S-s.
You're right! There is a typo in the slide. However, if you pay heed to the explanation from 00:25:36 to 00:26:36, the concept/formula has been correctly explained and rewritten. Please let us know if you need any further clarification!
For the first question, Virat scored 14x runs in August and 5x runs before that. So the increase would not be 9x/5x? Since we will take change/intial value for percentage increase?
Hi, Had the question specified "find the percentage change in the runs scored by Virat in August to that before August" you would have been right. But since the question doesn't specify we need to find the percentage change in Virat's total runs after August to that of before August. Therefore change in total runs will be 14 x and the runs before August is 5x thus making the answer 14/5,
@@gmatpoint No...If it was asked what percentage of runs scored till august is the runs scored in august, then it is 14/5. The question clearly asks percentage increase.
@@gmatpoint Hi, need a clarification on this....does this mean, the question asked is about "percentage increase in runs'? hence the formula is like (increase /initial)*100 %?
For the work time speed and distance part 2 question, why are you doing S1-S2 even if the train is moving in the same direction whereas in formula it is written that if it is in same direction, it is S1+S2
