Stein is German for Stone. If I had to guess, because the Stein is a prototype for the Unicorn, this is suggesting that it is a machine which represents a design process where in the final project is not fully hewn yet. From this block of stone will come the Unicorn. Because Full Frontal's machine is completely customized, the inclusion of Stein is pointless since it has now been fully hewn. Even if not in a way not originally intended. Thus, why it's only called the Sinanju, as opposed to Sinanju Stein Kai / Full Frontal / Custom / or whatever.
The Sinanju HAS to be my favourite antagonist mobile suit out of all of them. I mean, I love the Sazabi for it's detail and what not, but design wise the Sinanju is so much sleeker, aerodynamic, smaller in proportions to make it look faster and so on. It's just an amazing design all around.
Awesome kit, might have to get one to go with my Hi-Nu 😅 I think the Stein part is meant to refer to it being white & quite an elegant designed MS. I think it translates as "stone" in German. Old beer steins are generally ornamental too so maybe sommat to do with that!
wow just in time! I've been looking into getting a stein for the past week and tend to watch some of your reviews as a marker for whether I should get a certain kit but noticed you hadn't put up a review of the stein until now.
any recommendations on painting the sinanju's gold accents..... should i use the gold water slides... the decals... or paint with gold tammiya paint and a very fine brush.... never done brush work like that before
Honestly, I think your best bet may be to do a reverse wash. Gold lacquer as a base coat and then black enamel on top and then use some enamel thinner and cotton buds to wipe off the enamel paint from the gold areas. It's what I did and it turned out great. The waterslides and decals may be okay, but if they get damaged you're out of luck unless you can get replacements.
I read on the wiki that Sinanju Stein is called "Stein" to Reference a line from the OVA about how Full frontal carved his sinanju from a rock. Or something like that. By the way Hype for Narrative Gundam!
i just put lead bb in the back of the gun, and my sinanju stein can hold up the gun xd, nether to say, i love more the stein version of the sinanju (i have both)
finally found one of these last night, been looking since it released 5 years ago.. hope it lives up the wait. edit: took my money, checked the warehouse, refunded my money.... why world, why get my hopes up like that?
The Sinanju OVA/TV version has a polystyrene inner frame VS an ABS one like the ver ka. If anything, that kit is too tight to the point that the addition of paint made my Bayonetta version a statue (snap dragging the limbs made me too scared to further post it).
The outer covering on the Stein's rifle doesn't look right somehow... I don't know what it is exactly, but it jus looks a little too boxy, you know? And you know something? I'm kind of thirsty myself too now...
From the Gundam Wiki: The MSN-06S Sinanju Stein (aka Sinanju Stein) is a mobile suit featured in the PlayStation 3 video game Mobile Suit Gundam UC and UC-MSV. It is the successor unit to Char Aznable's MSN-04 Sazabi. ....so I'd say get both! I have the Stein now and am loving it but it is a more conventional looking kit. What pushed me to get the Stein Ver Ka over the Sazabi or the OVA Sinanju was the rifle. I have bored holes into the barrel and painted it chrome to make it look "meaner". I just like the overall "soldier" look to the Stein. Here is a picture of the rifle on a ten dollar bill for comparison: i.imgur.com/ZxT8qYA.jpg
Pretty much. The Sinanju we see in the OVA's is still the same machine as the Sinanju Stein just heavily modified to fit Chars/Full Frontals needs. Also is red because obviously painting something red makes everything 3x faster.
Does it come with the weapons included from the Battlogue episode? Because you said the things from the video were the all the weapons it comes with, so I am slightly worried.
Ouch. I was excited because Shinanju Stein looks better than Shinanju and the weapon it had in the episode caught my eyes very quickly. For me, I am the minority who doesn't like the Shinanju's gold parts and the spikes on the shoulder and stuff. The Stein version looks more mechanical and I dig it.
Michelle Hendricks standard release kit, but being ver. ka, that raises the price higher. Though anything from unicorn is actually all hajime katoki's design, except for anything from a previous show.
The only problem from this kit is the main weapon, others are good... Solidity 9 / 10 Looks 8 / 10 Actionable or pose-able 7 / 10 Verdict about 70 to 80% worth to buy it I'll take back for solidity, due to solidity the joons of lega with hips xan't be broken that make legs feels loose. So solidity over 10 / 10 but bad result.
There is absolutely such a thing as bad nubs. Sometimes there are some that just look like shit or are very obvious no matter what you to clean it up. It happens.
On a plated kit yes, but this? No. There's several way to hide the nubs, normally I use similar paint on the nubs. And you can always paint it entirely.
I don't paint my gunpla very often as I mainly do straight builds, so I've gotten pretty good at cleaning nubs to the point where, 9 times out of 10, they are no longer visible. But there's always that one time where there are a few nubs that just don't clean up well. They aren't unsightly but they are still somewhat noticeable.
