If someone is wondering why Michael's OBS-studio has way more options to play with here's what you can do "Install Stream FX Plugin" and options like "Colour Grading", etc will appear.

Well. i have problem with Application Audio Capture... it is not the same as on this video, and can't capture audio from browser..... Dont know where is the problem....

Cheers Michael, I have been a subscriber for quite a while. Thank you for the very valuable information! I am trying with no success to bring videos into OBS. I have attempted several times to accomplish this by following very carefully all of the methods you enumerate in this video. In each case the video comes through perfectly but no matter what I do I cannot get the audio into my Zoom stream. I even remade the video in Premiere Pro... still no successes. What is your recommendation to mitigate this problem? I hope you have time to give me some direction! Lonnie Robertson Heart Of Oak Studio

Great video Michael. Quick question. When doing a screen capture, if you going to show part of a window on the full 1080 canvas, is it better to crop the edges to fit the screen or just leave the edges outside the viewable area?

Michael, love your stuff and I’m going to use many of the ideas you presented here. Quick question: I would like to include videos that I make of some of my hobbies such as motorcycle riding and sailing. The best way to capture this is probably with a GoPro hero camera. Would such a camera also be useful for other applications in OBS. I am thinking of using it as a WebCam and also as a camera to record video of me in a podcast. Please just tell me what you think of this idea. I realize there are other cameras that can be used in studio for capturing video, but I really think the GoPro is the best for the videos I would capture in the course of my hobbies. Thank you

Hello Michael, great video and great advice! I have a question, is there any method, plugin or do you have any advice on how I can level the audio? For example, if my voice is heard in my stream without reaching the red limit and I add an audio source, how far can I increase the song volume level without overshadowing the sound of my voice? or how can I limit that volume since there are songs that sound louder than others? or maybe this is an idea for an upcoming video. Thanks a lot!

You've probably worked this out by now, but you could use a "limiter" VST plugin to literally set a volume cap on your audio sources by right-clicking on the audio meter and selecting Filters, then adding ...I think it's called something like VST 2.x I think OBS has some standard plugins to use, and if you have any downloaded VST / VST2 plugins they would hopefully show up in the dropdown list that will appear when you add the filter. (sadly OBS doesn't support the modern VST3 format yet...)

Love your guides, they have helped me alot. Would you be able to do a video about how to make music sound better if your a DJ streaming. When I listen back to my streams they sound flat, no bass etc. Is there a way to improve the equalisation of music? Thank you and keep up the awesome work 👊🏻💥👊🏻

Hi Michael Love your tuts… just can’t figure out how to display my camera menu settings on obs to teach people about camera operations etc.. is there a plug-in I need to download? HELP!!!

Your camera will have settings on it to display the ui or not assuming we are talking about a dslr.

Is there a way to have OBS start recording at a specific time? I manage the team at our church who use OBS for broadcast to Facebook live and we record the service for our webpage and to save for future needs with in the church. And it works great - but they sometimes forget to hit the record button. So if there is a way to program OBS to start recording but not to stop because our service sometimes goes a little longer then planned, I would be a happy camper. Thank you.

I have tried the Application Audio Capture for my stream so i can play whatever music i want and not sending it to twitch vod later. I works fine but when i capture my game COD Warzone you can hear the game but not the ingame communication, like when someone is talking you ingame. i tried setting the audio capture device to headphones for ingame,windows and obs but did not fix the issue. its kinda crazy cause i would love to use the built in audio console by obs :(

I have an MP4 video I added to Video Sources. The video is playing but the audio from the video is not. The audio levels are moving like OBS can hear the audio, but I cannot. Any ideas?
