I caught on to it and what also helped me was that I noticed (through lyrics and you guys) that they do not do a lot of romantic songs like that and he mentioned piano (which I happen to love!) Love it through and through!
4:14 "i said, grasping my crushed shoulder" On this part, it's about Suga accident when he still trainee. He took a part time job as delivery man for his school tuition. He got accident with car while doing delivery and crushed his shoulder badly. He keeps on secret from this accident to anyone, including to members, his family n his label. He is afraid to get kicked out because he injured his shoulder n lead him failed to debut if bighit know about his injury. So he held his pain secretly while keep practice his dancing n continues doing his part time job. But his shoulder injury become more painfully he fell to depresion n thought his career as idol is doomed bcoz of his shoulder injury, he almost gave up at that time. It get notice by their CEO. After their CEO/bang PD found out Suga shoulder is injury badly, he scold Suga why he didnt not tell him about his injury so they can treated it before it get worsen. Then bang PD paid his tuition so he didnt need to continue his part time job n give him a rest from training until his shoulder get healed. Even his shoulder get healed, but it was not fulll healed (even he keeps doing therapy for his shoulder healing), tbut tere is a times his shoulder feel the pain again from his old injury n he need painkiller shots to ease the pain esp when they are do concert. Until last 2020, he undergo surgery to fix his shoulder
Oh my god.. that story. The struggle he's been through, keeping it all to himself, those nights mustve eaten away at his mind too. Im so glad he is recovered now and that bangPD was/is such a good man. That must've been so hard on him.

If it was from other label, it will sure they will cut him off from debut line up because of his injury will hindrance the company debut planning also with the other members, they will replace him with other trainee (since kpop industry is really competitive n strict). And i doubted the company/ CEO is willing to paid his school tuition too especially if it was small company and dont have much money like Bighit.

Indeed, you couldn't describe SuGa's story better. I know when he was recording, he was in tears, and he decided to leave it as it is to reflect all of his emotions. My respect to him.
The amount of love he has for music is on another level. With "First love" you can really see that music saved him and it was the reason why he kept going. Live performance of this song is very emotional. I recommend you to listen to his self-produced mixtapes. He is so raw and honest in his music
When I heard this song for the first time, I cried so much.To be honest, I had never listened to hip-hop music before, BTS opened new doors for me and made me realize that hip-hop music could be emotional.I really appreciate that they can record their life and thoughts with music.

Agreed Yoongi is amazing. He has a way of making us feel what he is feeling. It isn’t just the lyrics but the production. Honestly, in my opinion, with Suga if you focus on just the production you only get like %50 of what he is saying. Same goes with just focusing on the lyrics. If you want to fully understand the song you have to listen and read. This is how I interpreted this song: Piano=music (so his first love is music) First off piano/music is what Suga has wanted to do his whole life. If you watch any interview about what they wanted to do when they got older (before BTS or if he wasn’t in BTS) he always says producing. He loves music and making music. I found this comment from someone that I wanted to share… In 2014, Yoongi tweeted this Trans “ After starting music, I never fooled around with music, and I don’t plan to do so in the future. Do you know how hard it was to start the music. Just believe me and follow me, I’ll let you guys hear good music as much as you want in the future.” Never has he broken his promise. (You can also tell that he was worked really hard and it and has gotten better and better over the years. He hasn’t stopped trying to improve himself.) Secondly, music literally saved his life. Idk if you know but he suffers from depression and anxiety and he has really struggled with it, especially when he was younger (I think he has gotten a lot better. Idk he just seems happier these days. It might have to do something with him getting his shoulder fixed so he isn’t in as much pain, but I think their is more to it). This is when I fell in love with Yoongi. The song touched a part of my soul I had no words. The first time I heard was without subtitles with just an open heart and cried my eyes out. No one loves Yoongi as much as Yoongi. He is the most passionate in music out of all the members. Dude literally always stay holed up on his music studio to make music. During their free time, even vacation, he still makes music. It is so admirable that he never lost that passion. He has been that passionate in making music since he is 13.
You know, I don't like rap songs. For me rap songs just about sex, drugs and agression. But BTS, espescially Suga, change that. For BTS, I curious about what they talk in their songs. Hope you can check Agust D2, Suga's mixtape anytime.
1000% agree. I can't relate or enjoy the contents in such rap because it has no meaning to me. However, like you've said. The three rappers don't need to do that, they rap about meaningful experiences, things we see and feel day in day out and they're so good at rapping too!! Got it on my to do list!

It is so strange how this song can make you feel so much emotion and he has really taken you inside himself. Yoongi puts so much feeling into his voice and he is so clever as you can also relate the words to other situations and people. Beautiful. 💜
I really think that this is a deeper love than a song about a first crush could be, which you might think you are getting with the title. It’s one of the most emotional songs I’ve ever heard, it’s art in a pure form. I agree about rap it’s hard to find deeper rappers Akala(especially Fire in the Booth), RM (especially his collab with Wale, Change), Wale, Kendrick Lamar, heck look at Spanish rappers like Snow Tha Product, etc they are out there but the “industry” continues feeding us more gang/materialistic/sexualized rap and that’s a pity and turned me off till I dug deep into it for less mainstream stuff. All the BTs rap line is fantastic.

He is an excellent pianist, btw. Yes, Yoongi breaks my heart. The piano is real, but it also represents music, symbolically too. When he mentions his crushed shoulder, he worked part time as a delivery boy when he was a trainee, and he was hit by a car and knocked off his bike, it crushed his shoulder and that almost ended his career, he was in pain on and off for years and only just got it fixed in November 2020, and then had months of rehab to get it properly mobile again, to comeback with Butter. Yeah, welcome to the rabbit warren. Once these guys get you, you can’t escape - and the depth of the lyrics was the last nail in your coffin 😂😂🤷♂️ I think maybe you are proper army now 💜

I have to say (I've reacted to Shadow, just not done editing it) and oh my god I can't describe how I felt. I love that he's a pianist too, im going to watch more footage of him playing! Hearing about his shoulder and how he endured himself is just.. painful to hear, however now that he is better, we can be relieved. True! Suga’s work is always so real and honest, and full of raw emotion. Then he has a wonderful ability to convey the emotion of the words with his voice and delivery as well - you FEEL every word.
It has always been my personal favourite, although I love all the wings solos a whole lot. I can connect to this so much personally, that I cried the first time I heard the song. It hurts hearing someone go through so much pain, and then realizing I have gone through something very similar in my own life. I used to be fascinated by the piano, and one summer worked hard for two months to make enough money to buy my own keyboard. Now it collects dust, although I do try to practice as much as I remember to. But he is right, with what the piano is saying: 'music can reach you in many different forms. Maybe, an instrument just is not the right way as you may have thought' I love that he made this song and the message it conveys. Any music and/or instrument enthusiast ARMY probably related a lot to this, especially fellow pianists like himself :,)

@@ShikiBTS yes, when it comes to BTS releasing music video, it's really a battle for us.. since most of the streaming platforms filter almost 50% of our streams, and RU-vid deletes our views every time, thinking we are bots, cause they couldn't believe how fast BTS MV reaches tens of millions in just few hours and get 100million in 24hours. This last butter comeback, RU-vid deleted 60million of our views.. they do this every time just to BTS only. Same goes to other platforms, some artist they filter 10-15% but when it comes to BTS it's always more.. this butter song spotify filter 47% of our streams..
