I suck at offset and said video content. You got a new sub my friend and hopefully you can answer some of my questions in near future! Thanks in advance
Hi, sorry for a very late comment. It's my first time matching tires to wheels so I just want to make sure: I plan to put a set of 18x8 TWS T66-Fs (didn't find data on flange thickness) on my GR86, and I wonder if 225/40 R18 Advan AD09s would be too wide for those wheels? AD09 has a tread width of 8.3", a section width of 9", and a rim width range from 7.5" to 9" (with a measured rim width of 8"). Thank you.
I have a newbie question here: my 2023 GR86 has some type of pressure sensors (I can see the tires pressures on my dashboard). If I buy a set of wherls and tires, do I need to buy these sensors too?
Yeah, it makes a difference but you can't deviate too much from the OD because then your speedometer is off by quite a bit. Also certain drive trains are sensitive to those changes, especially with modern vehicles.
I DIDNT KNOW SO MUCH VAREATION I HAVE A 2022 HONDA JAZZ HYBRIB WITH HORID STOCK WHEELS I HAVE CHOZEN JR6 I HAVE DECIDED TO GET TYES FOR THESE NEW RIMS WILL 205/50/16 HOPE YOU CAN HELP ME
A little bit? sometimes the lower treadwear tires are more performance orientated so they will sometimes measure up slightly wider to increase the contact patch. But this doesn't mean 100% of the time, its just a generalization. You'll notice grippier and grippier brand/models of tires tend to start measuring up wider.
@@RealWheelDeal wow. So now I'm more confused then before the vid lol. Excellent work but it's so hard to find a proper setup on paper if looking at specs only.
I'm dealing with this issue😔 I got the Rt615k+ 255 17 40 and rubbing. They run wide and I messed up my fender. A lot of people are telling me to flare my fenders... But I'm not doing that. Others recommend offset upper control arm bushings. Which I might consider. Does anyone run RS4 255 on a s2000? Do you guys rub?
Hey Peter, still having a hard time what tire/rim size setup should I go on my turbocharged GT 86. Here in our place the road surface is uneven, bumpy and not lowered friendly. Some parts of the road is too low since it's been passed several times by trucks. Should I go for 17s ? Was thinking of 17x9's (mags) and 245/40/r17 for the tires. Should I even go for staggered or square setup? I would be using it as my daily :) Also if I would be doing a staggered setup is 245 40 r17 (front) and 255 40 r17 (rear) sound good ? Many thanks I hope you can help me thanks :)
I'd do either 17x9 with the 245/40/17 you mentioned, or I'd do a 18x9.5 +38 to +40. with 255/35/18. I would do a square setup. Those tire specs are approximate. If you saw the video you'll know the spec #'s mean nothing.
