Master Shi Yan Yue is the 34th generation Shaolin Warrior Monk. Shaolin Kungfu Chan Academy (SKCA) is founded in U.S.A by Master Shi Yan Yue under the delegation of Venerable Master Shi Yong Xin, the Abbot of Shaolin Temple in China. Shaolin Temple is the birth place of Chan Buddhism and also the cradle of Chinese Kung Fu which has its root more than 1500 years. Shaolin Kungfu Chan Academy strives to promote holistic health of being by offering training based on Shaolin's unique Yi Jin Jing health exercise and its traditional Kung Fu practice.

This is so beautiful. As a karateka I see many (what I assume are the original forms of) similarities in stances and strikes like nekoashi dachi, hanzenkutsu dachi, uchi hachiji dachi, tetsu tsui...Just beautiful :) Thank you for the upload! Osu!

@@Xannyphantom905 The Kenpo is a base for karate, Kenpo is Quan Fa "Fist technique". Is similar but other idiom. KARATE IS Wushu Japanese.

So strange that here, this form is called Tongbeiquan (通背拳) while at the Shaolin Temple, all the teachers call it Tongbiquan (通臂拳). From my own training in this particular form, conversations with the teachers and masters at the temple, and its emphasis on the use of arms and their application of power, i would say the correct name is Tongbiquan (通臂拳), with Tongbeiquan (通背拳) being a very different style. But then again, what's in a name? As long as you get something out of whatever you practice, it really doesn't make that big a difference. ^_^

Cultural Keys my Shifu explains that both names are acceptable and interchangeable as the arms and the backs are inherently connected and you must generate power “通“ "through" them both.

I learned this exact form, it is different from how I seen other temples do it. Slight differences actually from other Tong Bei forms. I wish I can know why? Maybe different sects of the shaolin temple?

its different because people interpret the moves differently...one move can have many applications....and also they usually learn in class of 100-200 +students....so if u a student in the back...u probably saw the wrong move...and u just kept doing it that way and then it just becomes the way u do it and teach it to others

That is not true all the moves are well documented in writing form. Variations show that kf is still evolving.

Through the back fist, or connected chain fist. It means that both your arms are connected and should be moving together through the strength of your back.

I’m a black belt in kungfu great job demonstrating the tong bei I suggest more power tho u make it look like Dancing there are actual techniques in the forms it’s not just abt dancing it’s abt using the techniques shown through out the forms
