This game reminds me of my grandpa who would have been 83 this year. He loved all things sega and anything to do with computers. A truly beautiful soul ahead of the times. Rest in peace.
@Mike On many videos on Longplay, I've seen charcters touched by bullets, scene,...not dying. I play a lot of retro games even now. Thank you not to take us for idiots...
Music is such a great form of art . Despite being screwed in the intro, at 0:44 you can instantly feel all the badass ninja power the games fills you with, and also hope, and revenge. It screams "Cry no more, you're ready to kick some ass now, boy" . Such great work with 8bit tunes.
My all time favourite master system game! I still play it to this day! Also at the start of stage 3 if you drop down the gap there's a free life and a tornado to bring you back up
Bu oyun benim için Sega Master System'in en güzel oyunudur..İnanılmaz anılarım vardır..Sega'nın hafızasında Alex Kidd in Miracle World vardı ama benim favorim kesinlikle Shinobi World..İnanılmaz müzikler..Oynayan oyuncuya da tebrikler..Oynarken zorladığım bütün yerleri tek seferde kolaylıkla geçti..
I love the soundtrack. I remember that syntonized the máster system to the VCR and it to the hifi and récord all the music and then i can listening in my room. xD
Great playthrough! I absolutely loved playing this game when I was younger. Looks like you missed two secret passages though! (10:27)On the start of Stage 3-1, fall down the first hole in the bridge for an area containing a chest and a hurricane spell (to get back out). (13:59)Next, on stage 3-2, in the RED section of the lava cave, you come across a chest on the floor. Don't destroy it. Instead, jump on top of it and wall jump up into the ceiling. There is a room FULL of treasure chests (most are empty, but at least two have items)
I thought I knew everything about this game, but that red cave secret is new to me! I noticed the gap in the ceiling but didn't think much of it. Thanks!
Man I wish I could turn into a Ninja (or Shinobi). It can turn even Alex Kidd into kickass hero. Thanks for playing this game, T-0815. It's a joy to watch this game in a LP.
10:54 This exact moment was stuck in my head as a faint memory but I could never match it to the actual game. It's the first time I see it again and instantly recognize the memory.
We went to a blockbusters and rent the tape. Me and my father played on weekends. What a Nice Memories and what a wonderful time. Father rest in peace ! I miss you so much !
Good job, you missed these: 6:06 -> you can apply double jump leaning on the tip of the boat to get to the top. 10:26 -> let yourself fall into the first abyss and you get an extra life and the swirl medallion to go back up. 14:02 -> do not break the chest that is on the floor, use it to apply double jump on the walls and you will reach a room full of chests (although only two are full). 18:27 -> apply double jump to climb this red platform, jump normal in the second one that appears and then apply double jump to reach the final door.
I ve always thought this game was too easy, but i tried switching to ntsc format and boy it got so much harder! It sped up the game alot, raising the difficulty level, and now I really enjoy it!
yeah its just brilliant ! Good friend of mine when I was a kid had the master system with this game. Last time I heard the music must be aprox 23 years ago. When I heard the music from the first level in this video I recognized it immediately ! And it gave me goosebumps ! Good ol times.
Easily the best Alex Kidd game. Even though it's very short, the soundtrack is amazing and it plays better than any other installment. It deserves a remaster at the very least.
The funny thing about the ending is when it finishes it loops back to the original kidnapping cutscene. When me and my friend first completed it we laughed as it looks like the villain comes back to kidnap the girl again and my friend mimicked Alex going 'Oh no, not this shit again!'
This game was so awesome. Watch all the details. A ninja comes out of the water with airtank on its back. The bamboo forest. The way he swims. The normal and the power-attack. He can even crouch. And of course the attacks from the posts or these off-the-wall-jumps like Ninja Gaiden. Only great.
Hello, I've played this game on my Sega master system when I was a kid. I had 4-5 games and played them religiously. I want to let you know you missed 2 secrets in this game: - First stage world 3, at 10:25 you can jump down to reveal secret floor. You can find a life and tornado to escape afterwards. - Second stage world 3, at 14:00 you can jump on top of the chest to bounce up the opening at the top of the screen. It will move you to a room full of chests, but only 2 of them contain a heart/life.
Here's a couple tips. On the disappearing platforms screen right before the final boss, wall jump off the side of "platform 2" in the sequence to get on top of it from the floor. Jump on to "platform 3". From there, you can wall jump off the exit platform to get on top of it and exit. It's way easier than doing it the normal way. For phases 2 and 3 of the final boss, you can just rush him and not entertain his bullshit. For phase 2, you do need to give him a second to turn into the tornado before rushing him.
oh man. my memory of hanzo was so different. i remember him being hard as fuck to beat. getting really pissed about how unfair it was he was still alive at every new stage of his fight i was able to finally see. took me who knows how many rentals to finally beat him. but seeing it now, it's so freaking simple. i guess it must have something to do with me being like 6 back then. it's insane how your uncoordinated you are until you're 20-something, and how you never realize that.
when I was a child I was very scared of this opening, I'd even restart the video game if I started this game without wanting to.
It looks like they may have just ran out of space. The game has a lot of variety, detailed graphics, and large levels. But yeah... Maybe SEGA will make an HD version and add more content!
I love how one of the audio channels has to cut out while using the fireball move through bricks. On any other soundtrack, it would sound like an error, but here it's awesome.
easily a top 5 game for the Master System. much greater than awkward Alex Kidd In Miracle World. no more cryptic shit. and the controls here are responding very well. that's reasoning though, it came out three years later...
I've been playing this game for 25 years... and I thought I knew each nook... Thank to stibani, I discover something new today... wow, what an emotion :-)
In the beginning of the Round 3-1 you can fall at the first hole. There is a secret area to get a life and then u get the Twister coin to climb up again.
Rather odd that sega just took one of its most successful games and reskinned it with another one. The end result is a good game, it's just weird that it got made.
God I didn't know I remembered any of this game until I watched this video... then I realized I remember ALL of it! what else is buried in this head!? Hahahaha!
Cool Alex Kidd had one more good game on SMS. The click sound of the arrow darts is directly from the click sound of Kenseiden, also from Sega Master System.
18:27 you wall jump off the platform to land on it then jump to the next one and wall jump off the block and go through the door. You have much to learn, played this a lot as a kid.
This game reminds me of one of the happiest days of my life: 7/24/1993, my sister's tenth birthday. Humble house, full of children, simple party, my aunt took the cartridge for me to play that she rented from the video store in Indianópolis in São Paulo where she was a maid in other people's houses. Good times. 😢
I used to have this game when I was about 9 and my brother was 7 we played this game all the time for hours this brings back memories , this game is fucking awesome good levels all the way through
Originally, Kabuto (The first boss) was going to be "Mari-Oh". As a parody of Mario and even resembled him. Since the Alex Kidd games were all made by Sega. Nintendo's business rival at the time. But for some unknown reason, he was changed/replaced with Kabuto in the final version.
