Great content! Every region of our country is dealing with invasive animals or plants harming our native flora and fauna. I see lots of stories here. Answering who, what, where, when, and why is great advice to tell the whole story. Digging deeper is key, and, as you mentioned, it’s also a great learning experience. Short stories can be effective too. For example: if I take a picture of a northern shrike, I also make sure to capture its impaled prey. When photographing flowers, don't just take close-ups; include pictures of the leaves, the whole plant, the buds, or even when it's not in bloom. Some of my best-selling images showcase plant habitats. Recently, I've been photographing native oak hydrangea in my yard. It's a great native landscape plant and photography subject because it's always changing. The flowers start out white, then change to pink, maroon, and brown. The leaves also change from green to red, yellow, and coppery brown. Even without the flowers, it has interesting foliage, so I'm documenting these changes through my photographs. If you're taking a picture of a mushroom for identification purposes, make sure to photograph the gills. I am sure you get the picture (pun intended). Thanks for not only providing great ideas but also telling us how to implement them.

Thanks so much for the comment! 100% get the picture 😁. Some viewers tell me they struggle to make multiple images form one subject and this is exactly the way to do it, answering the questions is one way to showcase one particular subject and using the 4 focal lengths to tell the story will help with the creative block. showing the environment as well as all of the changes is a great way to add more information via pictures! Did you catch the Dow and Fawn's? thats all I got with my 200mm 😅

Thank you! I learned a lot. Those questions are great and amazing how close you got with the lens and extension tubes. Always a treat to see Bambi too! Edited to add that in the UK we have a beetle called the 'death watch beetle'. It lives in the wooden beams of very old buildings, and basically eats tunnels into them and destroys the building. You can hear the knocking sound of the beetle on the timber as it does its work 😅 It used to be very common but there are chemical treatments now which have reduced the problem. .

😮imagine listening to something slowly demolishing your house ! That’s where the hammer and a stethoscope come in handy 😅 Thanks so much for the comment, I haven’t included Bambi for a while I felt it was time 😂 And yes the extension tubes and the macro add on made a huge difference! Thanks again 🙌

Awesome content as always my friend! Like @GregKelton said, we're dealing with the invasive spotted lantern fly. I've never heard of this beetle, but since you said it was in Ohio I'll definitely watching for them. And great advice as always for the who, what, when, where, why, and how. Those always served me well as 32 year (and counting) paramedic and 14+ year cop. (Did them simultaneously so I'm not THAT old). 😂 😂 Thank you again for everything you do for us.

That was great. Being on the East coast, I never heard of that problem. Interesting way to think of stock, and I can see how a topic can sell. Thanks

You stated the bug arrived in the 1990's, where did they come from? In PA, where dealing with Lantern bugs, a gift from China.

One article I came across says it is native to Europe, North Africa and Asia, and it came to the USA on ships transporting lumber form Europe. Detected in Ohio 1992.
